Our little thread of BIG Resort changes*OLD THREAD link on last pg. to new thread!

TGIF Peeps :)

Wanted to say hi and to wish Melissa safe travels and to have a fabulous time!

Marie, so happy it's looking positive on the RC Trip... me thinks you need a big dose of Mickey TLC!!

Ginny, hoping those IT guys can finally fix the tix issues  ...and love your rationale for RCing!! We justify any changes here, and that's a certainly a new one!! (and good, plus you fixed their problem :upsidedow) :goodvibes

Miss, that is totally unacceptable to me. They knew these class sizes before school began...shame on the administration for not acting on this sooner. Please keep us informed, hope Miss M gets to keep some new buds with her (and the glass half full thinking side of me has me hoping that some of her true blue buds might be in class with her!!)

Pas, my friend, always wonderful to have you back!

Iheart, I can't blame you for having negative vibes on parades after that ordeal. How rude of that person! Pixie dust for a great magical halloween party this year!!

Krystal, hoping you can pull off some magic and get away with DH for a long weekend!

Lacey, good to "see" you back here!! We have to get the tix gremlins off your back too...:)

Hi Jen!

------------------------------------------------

Counting down to getting out of work... not feeling the best today, work up with a headache that hasn't got any better. Probably will leave soon.

If I don't get back on the DIS this weekend, please everything have a safe and fantastic weekend!

Thanks for being so supportive, ladies. :grouphug:  Knew I could come and vent to you guys. No news yet. I know I worry more than I should, ya know -- the whole mommy thing and all. It's kinda coded in our genes I think. Miss M's a sensitive sort and sudden change and her aren't the best of friends. (Heck, I'll never forget how she reacted to us surprising her with Disney on the last day of kindergarten. :lmao: ) I'll try and spin it as positively as I can should she be one of the chosen ones. :upsidedow

It's a definite silver lining having the class size reduced -- however that'll shake out. Strikes me as dismissive though to announce what seems like a pretty big deal -- at least to the children getting moved -- over a recorded message. Kinda like breaking up over Facebook. :crazy2: I just can't imagine it wasn't potentially an issue last week when school started; you'd think they would've known classes were near or at capacity then. Grumble, grumble, grumble. I feel like one of those old Muppet guys up in the theatre box.

Miss: Oh geez, crossing my fingers for Miss M that her and her new friends are not affected. I don't know what the schools are thinking sometimes. The kids are more than just numbers.

Jeanette: Hello friend! So glad to see you posting! I love that you moved your trip up, I am loving this every 6 month thing over here! Although it does make for some tight financial strings that is for sure. Not too sure we will even renew our AP's. We will see. And yes the online check in I thought was last night for the cruise but it is tonight. Stayed up for nothing and then I couldn't get to sleep!:rotfl:

Koh: Hugs, I hope you and your DH can somehow manage some time alone together. It is so important. If you figure out how to do it, let me know too.

Janet Hope you headache goes away and you can have a fabulous weekend. :goodvibes

Iheart: Wow just wow about the parade story. I have seen people acting like that, it is awful. I do not enjoy jockeying for spots either, and hate it when the kids see grown ups acting more immature than them.:worried:

Melissa: Safe and happy travels....updates please!!:goodvibes

Wookie: So so thrilled for you that single digits are here for you!!:cool1::worship::banana:

Well, the older two have found out their teachers, and both are happy. DD9 is back together with her BFF that she was separated from last year. SHe is beyond happy and I am happy for her. I just hope DD7 has at least one friend in her class, last year she had no girls that were her friends. That is all for now my loves, other than that I am one boring girl!

Jen

Waiting on tenterhooks here. We received a call last night (recorded message) from the school that they're adding another 1st grade class because the existing four classes have too many students. They'll be calling and sending notes home with the students that have been chosen to fill this new class. They couldn't have seen this was happening before school had started? :confused3 Miss M has been mentioning a few kids' names from her class that she's gotten friendly with -- and most importantly, she seems to enjoy her teacher. Momma's not impressed.

We had that happen one year with JM, but luckily he didn't have to change classes. At the time they said they had so many new students/existing students register on the first day of school it caused the need for another class.

So, I just realized that my trip is booked over the kiddos school Halloween parties and our local Trick or Treat night. I wasn't planning on doing MNSSHP because of bad memories of our last one*, but I think I have to bite the bullet and do it. Now I have to do some FP+ rearranging. Anyone else think that system is super annoying? My goodness, the steps needed to change your plans.... :badpc:

I've had some issues with it too, but I just assumed it was due to it being in the testing phase still. Making FP+ selections isn't hard. Rearranging them, or changing them, can be.

*Don't worry my bad time was just due to a very bad guest. I better tell the story so I don't worry anybody about the party. :flower3:

So, we went and sat on planter over in Liberty Square at about 7:15 to wait for the 8pm parade. 8pm comes and it starts to thunder and lightning. :headache: Parade delayed for 30 min. No big deal, but now more and more people are trying to crowd into our space. Now the parade is delayed again and my oldest DS (8 at the time) stood up to stretch his legs.

At this time a grown women decides to bump him out of the way and steal his seat! :scared1: I said excuse me, that is my son's seat. We have been waiting here for almost 2 hours now, can you please get up. "Nope!" she says. "My butt is here, this is MY seat now" OMG. So I squish over closer to her and have my DS squish between me and one of my other kids. I have my 8 month old DD sleeping on my shoulder and the lady keeps bumping into her. DH is trying to flag down a CM but can't find anyone. I'm afraid to have him leave me alone with my 4 kids and this crazy lady.

The parade finally starts and the lady's husband now comes over and stands in the planter behind his wife and proceeds to ignore the parade but shoot flash pictures in my sleeping DD's face the whole time. I have never seen my DH so close to hitting someone. I seriously would have left but there was no where to go. The parade was going by and I wasn't climbing through the planter with 4 kids. After the parade was done we high tailed it out of there, hit a few TOT spots and then left because we were all too mentally exhausted to enjoy it.

I know this could happen anywhere, but I can't help but have this negative association with MNSSHP (and parades) because of it. We have not done one parade since then. I guess I have MNSSHP/Parade PTSD. :rotfl2: Anyhoo. I know it won't happen again and we will have a blast, so yay for the party (I think)! :cool1: :scared:

I totally understand. We had a bad experience on our last trip with a British family (mostly the mother) on the benches just outside of Liberty Tree Tavern. It had nothing to do with the restaurant, but it has made us to not want to eat there again.

Thanks for being so supportive, ladies. :grouphug:  Knew I could come and vent to you guys. No news yet. I know I worry more than I should, ya know -- the whole mommy thing and all. It's kinda coded in our genes I think. I agree, there is a better way to do it than a recorded message. I assume it's because they don't want to have to talk to you directly over the phone, because they assume how people will react.

Jen

When I read the sentence about DD9, for some reason, I heard the song "Reunited" by Peaches & Herbs in my head. I hope your DD7 has a friend in her class as well.

Single Digit Dance!
Wookie: So so thrilled for you that single digits are here for you!!:cool1::worship::banana:

Thank you both!! In one week from today we will either be in, or be close to Biloxi, MS, which is our first stop on the trip.

Hope you get your appliques ASAP!

ok, now hope I am the only winner of a at least 100 million dollar lottery pot, because your hope worked. I got them today!!!:banana:

Wookie: Ha! Is that the "reunited and it feels so good" song? Too funny! I love the appliques they are adorable.

Miss I would be kind of annoyed about the change too! That actually happened at DD's school last year, but not her class. It was the 5th graders, and they did the change 1/2 way through the year! :crazy2: So disruptive if you ask me!

Wookie Love the decals!

Well, I am at the start of a long weekend! Off until 9/4!! :dance3: The girls start school on 9/4 and I am just excited to have them both at the same school again! I can't believe I have a 1st grader and 4th grader! I already know both of their teachers and love them so I think it's gonna be a great year! :thumbsup2. They both attended their old daycare and kindergarten today for the last time. Lots of tears all around...:sad1:

So, today, we took our 5 month old kitten for her spay today, and she made it through just fine, but....during the course of the procedure, they discovered that she is missing a kidney and her reproductive organs were pretty disfigured. :sad2:

The reproductive organs are gone now, and the good thing is that she is a happy, healthy kitten and the vet said that she should continue to be healthy and live a long life. They will just monitor her kidney functioning annually to make sure the one she has is working properly. We were pretty shocked about the discovery...and the vet bill that ended up twice the amount we had been quoted because it turned into an exploratory surgery...

She is sleeping right now. She has been through a lot! When she is awake, she is stumbling around the house like a drunk pirate, while the meds continue to wear off...:headache:

So, that was my day....looking forward to some relaxing...:cool1:

Oh Poor Kitty!! :cat::sick:

Hi guys!! Well it's OFFICIAL!!!! :-) my early bday present/ Christmas present! I'm headed to Disney DEC 3-DEC 9th with my Dis buddies Janet, Linda/ GRumpy Grandma, Linda Magic (should be there the same time), Rosie, and I am hoping some Disney Magic might allow Christine to join us too!!

Who'd have thought! I'm so excited to share 5 fun filled days with these ladies! I bought my plane ticket today. So it's official! :cool1:

I am sharing a room on the 3rd of Dec. with Rosie at Pop, I've never been to a value, so this will be a trip of firsts for me! But you know what, I'm fine with trying new things this trip-- it's perfect for that I think!

On the 4th I'm homeless and trying to find a cost efficient option -- pickings are getting slim! I'm a deluxe gal, but prices are too high unless splitting costs with a couple others - and I'd like to stay at the same resort as the others!
I'm seriously considering reserving a royal room at POR, I've always been intrigued by POFQ (completely sold out) and POR -- might be a good time to try it. My only concern is I want to be close to the bus and pool and main blg. Have any of you stayed at POR? And did you like it? I guess I can truly do anywhere for one night!!! :) on the 5th I believe we all move in with Linda at her timeshare! :yay: it's going to be a blast. I think Janet managed to book a room at POR preferred room for a good rate on the 4th, so now it's just a matter of me figuring out a home base for the 4th :)

I'm so thankful for my DH finally coming around and letting me do this trip -- he's the best!!! And truly, I don't need anything else for Christmas :-)
I'm just so happy to be going to WDW in December (I've never been during holiday season before!!!) and meeting our dear RCer friends is the cherry on top!

Wow we have fallen into no mans land! Have no fear RCers I will save us!:thumbsup2

just wanted to share, I did online check in for our cruise last night...or should I say early this morning. We have a port arrival time of 11 - 11:30 am which is good! It means we hopefully will board early and get to spend some good quality time on the ship even before we leave port!:cool1:

DH and I are just watching Ace Venture 2, love Jim Carrey!:rotfl2:

Congrates on buying your airfare! Good luck in finding a place to rest your head on the 4th. I've never stayed at POR only POFQ but I like the idea of a RR

So, DD9 has an audition on Tuesday for a stage production of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. She has chosen "Part of your World" from Little Mermaid as her audition song (because it's my favorite). I love hearing her sing it. :goodvibes

Ugh, send your good thoughts ladies. DH's dad just had a heart attack and is being rushed to the nearest cardiac center. It is actually his 5th. Sounds bad this time.
:worried:
