Hi all!:wave2: Got room for one more?

After 30+ trips to WDW I too am a new DVCer. Closed in November with a BWV contract. I'm the Disney fanatic in the family going 2-3 times (or maybe more....) per year. We've taken an annual family trip since 2004 but that's more than enough for DH. I take additional trips with girlfriends or with just one of my 3 children at a time-they seem to be OK with that as they know their turn will come.

I have a trip planned for my bday 5/3 to 5/11 with just my youngest DD(10) staying at Pop. I had originally booked a suite at AoA so we could try it out for our summer family trip but then couldn't justify the cost for just the 2 of us. I've been to Pop 7 times so I know we'll have a great time there and am really looking forward to checking out AoA while we are there.

We have a family trip planned for 8/15 to 8/30 with DH, DD(10), DS(12) and DD(14). I closed on my DVC in time to buy us all those great DVC $399 PAPs.:thumbsup2 so of course I'm thinking of a summer 2014 trip in early August to get another family trip in on those passes. DD(10) & I currently have premier passes we got on our first DL trip last August since I had planned on taking her in May.

I only have enough DVC points for 1 week in a 2BR at BWV this Auguust. I was planning on AoA for the other (first) week but now I'm not sure. We stayed in a family suite at ASMu in 2006. I've been thinking about 1BR at AKL or BLT to try out other DVC resorts. I was thinking it might be nice to try those out in case we decide to buy more points we might want to buy at one of those resorts. I would also love having a washer/dryer in August. We all also love BWI CL so I'm thinking about that too-or even try a deluxe room there for the first time. We love the staff there and might not stay there much now that we have DVC.

We all really enjoyed our trip to DL last summer that also included a week in San Diego. Now the kids are saying they want to go places other than just WDW. I'm thinking if I can get them to go back in 2014 we might borrow 2015 points for an all DVC stay in 2014. Or maybe even doing a split stay with US in 2014.;)

I'm hoping I can make up my mind when I go in May so I can book a bounceback when I'm at Pop. Maybe all I need to do is see AoA and I'll be ready to stick with that. But the ability to walk to MK or see animals and have a washer/dryer in the room sounds so good.....

:welcome::jumping1::rainbow: Of course there is always room for more here! And wow :worship: at your post count and Dis join date!! It sounds like you are like me, only I started out late with my Disney love! But if I could, I would go all the time! So many choices with DVC, not sure I could cope!!:faint: Whatever you choose, we are here to support and enable!:goodvibes

Planning on getting caught up with all of you tonight. :goodvibes
Just got back from seeing DD8 perform in a production of The Muppets :cool1:

Now, my reward for a hard weeks work....(note the bottle topper)

How did she do??? And yes, love the bottle topper!:goodvibes

Alright, I think I'm all caught up now....:hourglass

Dani - I think that you know (and we all know) that Poly CL is where you want to be. So do it! You have a great discount and will get to see the new rooms! :thumbsup2

Magic - Happy Anniversary and congrats on the upgrade!!! How exciting!!! pixiedust:

Sheila - pull the Poly trigger already!!! :goodvibes

Erica - I agree. Gene Wilder over Johnny Depp. The new version is soooo awkward and creepy. My kids like both though.
I agree with you on the view of the sequestration as "time off". I mean, DH works his butt off so in a way, this time will be good for him if it happens. (Like I said, he may just opt to switch to active duty to be exempt). Yes, we will lose out on money, but luckily we live well below our means on a daily basis so it's not causing huge panic in our house....but I am trying to figure out how to start paying for Feb 2014 trip if this does happen...:scratchin

Jen - yay for keeping cruise! And Boston!!! I still have to see what we can do about getting those tickets! :p

Jeannette - CSR BC...when? I can't keep up! :confused3

kook - I totally understand about you canceling your trip being therapeutic! Sometimes it just feels better to just say no. ::yes::

wookie - here is some extra pixie dust hoping you get your tax return soon! pixiedust:

i_heart - I hope everything is ok...please check in when you can...we'll be here waiting...:grouphug:

koh1977 - I visited Darien, IL when I was 17 (17 years ago :scared:) I had a friend who lived/grew up there and spent the week visiting. Small world.

A big :welcome: to the new faces, pigletsmommy, mommyarewegoingback, loves dumbo :wave2:

Did some more shopping today....flip flops and sunglasses for the girls. Will hit the Disney outlets soon for some additional tee shirts for the girls. ::yes::

I can't remember if I mentioned that We got the dessert party today!!! it will be for us and the BFF's and we are super excited!! We've never done it before so it will be a new experience. :cool1:

DD8 did great in the Muppets and the fart shoes were divine. :rotfl2:

Hope I got everyone and sorry for anyone I have missed! :flower3:

Help me step away from the computer!! Now I have priced out POR for this trip, would be $1400 cheaper that BC CL!!! All this because DD8 said at bedtime that she dreams to have Mickey Waffles again, which BC CL will not have.

$1400 could buy a lot of waffles...and drinks!!:lmao:

But it cannot buy the memories of staying at the BC right???

Take a deep breath.....

Where are your ADR's? Can't she get waffles at a breakfast ADR??? :confused3

You are going in May, it's going to be HOT, you're going to want SAB!

I'm holding firm on this one...BC CL, this is the time. POR is nice enough....but BC CL!!!!. No question what you should do here....

We don't have any breakfast ADR's, only Yak and Yeti lunch, BOG dinner, and Le Cellier dinner. No waffles. :rolleyes1

Jeeeeennnnnnnn........

I feel very strongly about this one...

YIKES!! I feel like I am getting in trouble here! :scared: Be gentle with me! I am on my own tonight, rockstar off to play for his fans.

DH did say to me earlier today why my sudden obsession to save money..."for what?? Just to have and spend on things we don't need??"

OOOH, then my scolding voice came across on line...:rotfl2:

But seriously, your DH is probably right! I've been through this internal battle...remember last summer??? I don't think you will regret BC CL.

It really did!!! Yes, I remember your battle quite vividly. And we didn't regret the Poly one bit, even though it was pricey as well. Oh the dear girl may just have to live without her waffles....or we can make a stop at Captain Cook's for her on the way to the Poly, I suppose!

There is a breakfast buffet that is supposed to be wonderful at YC (Captains Grill) if she really gets the urge...you could probably get in without an ADR if you have to...they have waffles. :goodvibes

Problem solved, you're welcome. ;)

Saucy girl!! Hey we have to have something to talk about on a Friday night right??:rolleyes2

:rotfl2:

I'm sitting here...drinking water, to counteract the 3/4 of a bottle of chianti I consumed (no fava beans) ;)

DH and I are watching Ghost Adventures and yes, I'm happy to have some thing to talk about...

I haven't had a change in over 2 months...it's cray-cray! :upsidedow

It is like a physical itch that you just have to scratch!!! There is no doubt in my mind that for me, professional help would be very helpful!! :hippie: However, this help would cost money, and that would take away from Disney funds.

Ahhh...continue to suffer I will. :smokin:

*sigh* I loved the Poly...if money weren't an issue, I'd book it in a heartbeat...and BC last year was pretty nice too although I think I kept us way too busy. No time to really enjoy SAB and the beach and all...but I'm finding it hard to justify that extra $ so moderate it is...

The Poly prices are going through the roof! :eek:Really really high now. I am hoping to resist the urge to go go go this trip, because now we have park hoppers and can take that mid day break to swim, rest and head back out. ::yes::

Thanks for adding me Janet, I didn't realize Christine and I are there at the same time! Potential meet up perhaps?? :scratchin

That would be wonderful! I've no idea where we are staying yet - this is a little trip with Sophia. She has been so sweet. She asked for a RR but since I don't swim, we need a resort with water jets. BWV has a very nice kiddie pool with elephants spraying water, sadly it is out of my retired budget - although I might check on renting points even though it is a bit late for BWV. Sophia would love the boat to HS. :cloud9:

Soooo, I think we are going in May - August is still in the running as well!

Good Morning, RC family! Hope everyone has a delightful Saturday!

Good morning all! DH was looking at my ideas last night, but has yet to take a look at the videos and pics of the moderates to help me decide which one we should go with. He was interested in the BC rooms at CSR though...

Have a great Saturday!

Thanks for the welcome. I don't think I was too much of a changer before I got DVC but lately I just can't seem to make up my mind. I even struggled with deciding on Pop for May. You read one negative review and it makes you question your choice even though I've had 7 great trips there.

BC CL is so much more than Mickey Waffles! On my last trip in November I tried a waffle at Sleepy Hollow for the first time. Not a Mickey Waffle but it was fun to be eating a waffle in the quiet there behind Sleepy Hollow.

Planning on getting caught up with all of you tonight. :goodvibes

Cute Mickey bottle topper! Have you seen the new Haunted Mansion bottle topper? Not exactly cute but so cool.

I bet the Muppets was fun. My DS(12) is a huge Muppets fan. We made him the coolest Beaker costume for Halloween. He's worn it the last 2 years. Not all the other kids knew who he was but the adults LOVE it!

I first stayed Poly CL with my oldest when she was 3 and I was 6 months pregnant with my 3rd. It was Oct 2002 and park attendance was still down due to 9/11. I think I got more than 50% off. I think I paid less than $250 for a theme park view CL room. That was before they had (charged more for) a theme park view category. Now that room on an Oct weekend is $901. Even with 30% off it is still $710 with tax.:sad2: and the Poly doesn't always get as high a discount as other resorts now. Our first 3 family trips were Poly CL and we did a 4th after a 3 year break. We loved the Poly! I was really afraid to try anywhere else. Poly prices are just crazy now. I actually have a GV non CL Poly room on my list for resorts to consider for this summer.
