Bracing for more school job cut backs this June it's going to be a blood bath. Very sad.

Hoping that the cut backs will be minimal (and of course that you are not affected).

I cut the trip down to 6 nights but IMO well worth it!!!

dimngal1, hope you made some progress on the December plans. for the new DVD (which I didn't order yet!!)

Oh, I know its not the same as watching an organized sport, BUT we so loved to play croquet as kids! It was fun wacking the ball (and "sending" people off to [hopefully] never, neverland! ) and of course, the usual "cheating" that took place


Nice!! The blossoms were so beautiful when we went a few years ago. We stayed in Alexandria.

Croquet was a blast -- though my alma mater LOST! It's all good -- we had fun and the pics are worth a thousand memories.
Blossoms were good, too! Caught tail end of the blooms and avoided most of the crowds... like a good DISer does. DH even joked about how I crowd calendar everything!

Sorry the December planning is a pain so far, but for September!

I would love to go see the Cherry Blossoms, I haven't been since I was a preteen when my Dad lived in NoVa

Dec has been a doozy (see below) but we're making progress.
Def think everyone should do a DC trip but the blooms are so finicky on when they decide to bloom. This is the first year it's coincided with DD's Spring Break since we've been back in MD!

In my daily stalking of the YC waiting for a Water view to open up (why are they all booked anyway?), I noticed the BC went up to $485 from $399 in October bc only Lagoon/Water view is left there!

It's faaaaate!!!

Maybe we'll all get upgraded!

Less than 2 months and we'll be at Disney!! Can hardly wait!!! Our Spring Break starts Friday, thank goodness. So, I plan on getting lots of WDW planning done....or should I say the extra details. Dining ressies have been made for quite some time.

CHACHACHACHANGES...I've not posted much, but I can be one to change or contemplate a change or worry about if I should change....

POR, then Contemporary, then Beach Club, then back to POR. I can't give up that extra 1K -1.5K to not stay at POR. I could use that to upgrade flights or other things. I need an intervention. I really want to try monorail resort, but then I chicken out and it's back to POR...my comfort zone. I've also changed my dates 3 times, all within a week of one another. What's wrong with me?

If changing is wrong, I don't want to be right!

on your weekend!

Where do you all like to dine the first night? We fly in around 5:30 and expect to be at our resort (POFQ) by 7:00pm. Right now I have an ADR for T-Rex at 9:30 but I'm not sure if I want to keep it or not. Maybe WPE is a better choice? Just thinking out loud.

We are doing TRex first night in Sept and Raglan Rd first night in Dec. Neither requires a deposit and can cancel close to date so I feel like it allows a bit of wiggle room if flights delay. We love RR as a first night meal because people can have a drink and relax, the dancers are great, and the food ranges from apps to meals to dessert to meet the needs of our group. TRex is DD's fave so it works well when it's just our family!

Hi Everyone!!!

I have been an absentee RC'er as of late. We have been stressed out lately because of some medical issues with or little one....the good news is that what could have been pretty serious, really isn't too bad, and all will be well one way or another.

Now with those stresses relieved, I am back into planning mode!!! We should celebrate by adding CL, no?!?

Can't say it didn't cross my mind...

Crazy weekend but wanted to pop on and say HI and try to catch up -- sorry for any things I missed!

Spent a looooong day with the ILs working out Disney. At first we decided it was just too plain expensive and started looking at cruises and renting a vacation house on the beach... then we started looking at adding on activities and cars and food and *BOOM* right back at Disney costs.

So, the current plan is 3 rooms at SoG for our group of 11. It's not IDEAL for Christmas but it gets us a lot of the perks for a little of the cost. I'm hoping it works out but would LOVE any advice people have!!!! Also have to break it to our TA soon -- don't want to schedule ADRs and then be like "sorry, we're staying SOG!"

Think there'd be time after the second Fantasmic to hit up the Disney Jr. dance party for a bit? Fantasmic is at 10:30 and with EMH, the park is open til midnight...(still trying to decide between Fantasmic pkg at Mama Melrose's or 50's Primetime and the later Fantasmic)

Would they restrict 4th of July fireworks viewing to resort only guests (or ones with ADRs)?? I know Poly is PACKED and I'd read a rumor of them trying to do that there? But I wasn't sure about GF...Would an early dinner ADR at 1900 (and then find a spot to hang out after to wait) or maybe just dessert at Narcoosee's (after the fireworks) be better?

I think it comes down to if the CL amenities fit your trip 'better' than 7 days would? (Does that makes sense?) If you think you'll use the amenities then I'd go for that, but if you think the extra park time and days to spread yourselves out (v. running around more) is better, then I'd go that way. Personally, I'd always take more days over CL but that's mostly because I like having a 'pool day' and not feeling rushed to knock everything out. Once we can do BOTH a week and CL, I'm sure THAT will be our new norm.


So, I want to hold onto the moderate reservation we have in case enough discounts come out to make that feasible for December...what concerns me is that discounts won't come out until AFTER ADR window opens up so A) do I still let our TA help me even though we might have to move everyone to SOG the whole week and B) if we do cancel the Disney rooms, it won't affect any ADRs we make, correct? Would it be better to cancel with the TA totally and then just rebook when the rates come out if they work? ((is that confusing enough???)) I just want to stay positive that we can work some Disney resort time into the trip but I don't want to mess up our ADRs and screw the TA if it doesn't. *sighs* sooo hard!!!

I think changers should not have TAs I constantly feel guilty SoG sounds great...for now

According to Tikiman they might restrict. Especially with construction. I would try CR observation deck, esp. if you are at WL

Once your ADRs are made, they stay. Even if you cancel the trip, they stay intact and have to be cancelled separately. Honestly, I would be upfront with the TA and explain the thoughts and budget...maybe there's a PIN code or something out there to find!!

This is what we do, use a TA but make our own ADRs. We change ADRs and tweak them often.

Oh, I'm PIF for Poly!! Just have to pay remainder of 1 st night CL now, and think about adding another CL day, lol!

Just had an awesome idea for a split!! 2 nights Poly CL (can watch the 4th fireworks from the lounge!) then WL for 5 nights (no CL)...As long as I can figure out how to use my park tickets before I check in to WL (since they'd be part of that package).

I think you can get them from guest services? Poly CL will know. Maybe? But maybe now it will be easier because won't the tickets already be on your MB?

I like it! Poly CL then WL!! And if you aren't stay CL at WL, you'll get a nice balcony one you can see out of!!

So I've read that if I do a RO stay at the beginning of the trip and activate my park tickets early (they'll be linked to the 2nd part of the trip), that I can't do FP+ for those days until the MBs are activated onsite. So at my 60 day mark, I can do FP+ for the second part of the trip (7/6-7/11 at WL), but I couldn't do any for the 5th until we get there on the 4th and activate the tickets early? So what would happen if I keep my current reservation at WL (which begins 7/5) and do FP+ for all the days THEN change my reservation to start the 6th? What would happen to my FPs for the 5th then?
