Our little thread of BIG changes, the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

:wave2: Krystal, I think an AllStar trip sounds like fun... if you do go with Sports you can always visit Movies for DD and also for pool hopping :)

Now do I propose 6 nights with PH or 7 nights (no PH)...? I have a list of like 7 options...I think I should narrow that down so I don't completely overwhelm DH...I'm thinking maybe 6 with PH so I can show some savings at least? :-)

Do you think DS(7) and DD(3) will be good with sharing a double bed for that long? That's one of the big reasons I was leaning toward POR before...

When we stayed at the values, we did the 1 kid/1 parent set up in each bed. More room that way. :goodvibes

I went ahead and changed one of our flights (since I can't change my resort anymore :rotfl:).

I change our return flight to the last one out of Orlando, because let's be honest, the prospect of getting on Magical Depress at 8 am is just.....:faint:

That's the flight we'll be on if we go in June...the last one out (DME pick up would be 4pm). Much better than 4am!! :-)

Isn't there some sort of rule/law that you have to take the last flight out? :rotfl2:

Krystal, just curious, have you considered dropping the PH entirely? And if you go wth 6 days (over 7) you will save even more. We've had several trips without it (we just make our park plans/ADRs accordingly). PH are pricey and unless you combine the WP/PH options (which is a great savings if you want both features), PH can add up. Just another thought for saving additional $$.

Otherwise, my vote is 7 days no PH. As you get in so late (early depending how you look at it), arrival day will be a sleep in/one day park anyway. Then you are left with 6 days.. perhaps 2 for MK, 1 for HS, 1 for Epcot,1 for AK, which leaves one besides arrival day. And with the heat, needing breaks, etc., think you might be able to structure your days without PH?

And my suggestion - you mentioned AK on arrival day...my voice says no unless you can get there in the AM. With the heat especially, the safari is best done before midday, and AK does get very hot....it's a great park, even if you do not do the headliner EE. The kids might like taking the train to Planet Rifiki....and definitely catch the Finding Nemo show.

Suggest heading to MK and work FP+ for the early evening. Somehow it's always extra special to see the castle on arrival (and last day too). HS might be a good option too.

Oh I know I gave you more than you asked so feel free to disregard everything. :goodvibes

And yes, suggest giving DH two options :)

And I agree with Candace, with your kids ages, suggest you each share with a child. For another option, use a blow up mattress -- DD or DS might like sleeping on one. :goodvibes

Great FC (flight change) :thumbsup2

YES! an unwritten law amoung RCers :)

Of course you have!! :rotfl2: You are the RC Queen after all!!

Waving Hi to Linda, Sue, Melissa, Pixarmom, Ginny, Heather and everyone else I've missed!
 So I've made a nonWdw change. I dropped a class...I think one class is enough. This second class is overwhelming. Plus the new job etc etc. A good change :)

Bff you're advice to Krystal is awesome. Drop park hoppers and do the extra night. As far as a resort, all star sports or POP, the other all stars are okay but I liked the refurb and pop was a step above all stars IMO. Now SWW will be crowded so prepare for that and July May bring the tour groups..just food for thought. Early morning parks and get as much done before afternoon and you should be good.

Thanks for all the advice/info. :-)

The only reason why I'd say PH if we do the 6 day tickets is due to SWW, I am thinking it best to not try and get everything in at HS on one day, but I don't know that I need a full 2 days...and our last day isn't a full day either, and I'd like a full 2 days at MK at least...hence the dilemma with PH or not...Maybe 7 nights hotel/DDP and only 6 day tickets...? Arrival day could be sleeping in, pool time, maybe DTD or Chef Mickey's/1900 Park Fare for dinner...? Now I will have to price that option out too! :-)

ETA: Or we could save our departure day for sleeping in, brunch at Chef Mickey's, and a bit of shopping at the monorail resorts...? A bit more relaxing before heading home...and maybe yes, HS for our arrival day so we can do a few rides and see Fantasmic! Then Friday can be our SWW stuff day at HS. Originally thinking we'd hit HS on Monday for EMH because the kids like the Disney Junior dance party they do during EMH...or stick to AK (despite the heat) since the main thing really is Kali River Rapids. I wanted to see the Lion King Show but it's not up and running yet if we go in June (possibly if we went in July). Maybe save the safari for the end of the day then? And dinner at Yak and Yeti...?

:-) off to eat some lunch and do some more Disney math!

Leaning toward ASSp in a standard room (requesting Touchdown near buses) vs ASMo preferred room (Dalmations)...although DD would love the puppies, it saves $150 more...or perhaps I should just give DH the numbers and let him decide...?

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

Watch out - I gave DH the numbers and then he went spelunking on his own and dug out the POFQ option I hadn't considered. Happy it happened but threw me off!

I have never stayed at RPC but it is the cream of the crop as far as CL standards go! The offerings are the same, and you'd save $$$ at SL. So hard to choose, the main building is just pixiedust: If I could do it, I'd choose RPC!

Record for the quickest, ummmm does hanging up and calling right back count, because I know someone who has done that.... and I've even changed on the same call :upsidedow That's a lot of savings, good job!

I admit that if I was going to do GF, I'd have to do main building. Same with CR - would have to get MK view. *sighs* One day... maybe a split-stay!

Now that you mention it, I forgot the way I got to my current Sept rezzie was to jump from WL SV to BC to WL Bunk in the same call. Apparently I blocked it out. ;) And then I found my way here and was accepted by my own kind!

:wave2:

Krystal, I think an AllStar trip sounds like fun... if you do go with Sports you can always visit Movies for DD and also for pool hopping :)

Marie A very Happy Birthday to Andrew! :cool1: And fingers are crossed here for his acceptance into the military!

:scared1: And I would so be grabbing the wine and joining you in that hot tub ... :)

:yay: for FQ and the $$$! Hoping that a discount comes out for you.

Oooh, Janet, I like your solution!

And also wanted to send wishes and good luck to your son, Marie - military life is hard but the rewards are worth it in spades!!!

Definitely ready to open the hot tub... must... wait... until... kids... settle! And definitely happy to have one more step closer to a full week on property at Christmas!!! :cheer2:

I know my DF said she would share a bed with DD6 on our next trip but DD is a sleep swimmer and I wouldn't wish anyone to share that. But WDW also knocks kids out so they may sleep so deeply it won't be an issue!

Doing the OFFICIAL PIF DANCE!!!!!!!!

Krystal, my vote is still to nix PH, HS on arrival day is good for non SWW things, and then have 2 days MK, 1 Epcot, 1 HS and 1 AK. Good idea to spend your departure taking it easy, with CM and monorail shopping :) Usually Sam and I put our 'Ohana breakfast on our last day so we can relax and not rush off to a park with our stomachs full :)

Only you can decide if missing out on EMH at HS is will make or break the trip for DD. I like saving the PH price if I can. :)

AK is amazing.. once you start exploring there is a lot to do. Don't overlook the Nemo show (unless the kids are not into the movie). Because of taking advantage of EMH at AK, we were able to FP+ the show.... you are let in ahead of the standby line so able to secure a seat close to the stage. This show is amazing, so colorful that I'm sure your kids will enjoy (and a nice respite from the heat!!). You might also try standby for Kali and get a FP for a little later in the day. Two cracks at it :goodvibes

For the safari, my recommendation is to go first thing in the AM or at least definitely before lunch.

It is really nice to stroll along to observe the wildlife...and consider Planet Rafiki watch. I forgot your ADRs but we tended to put a character dinner meal (non park) on an AK day.... or 'Ohana for benefit of wishes ...a leisurely dinner and then back to the resort for a semi early night. :goodvibes

Has anyone seen the Disney Resorts show on Destination America this week? I DVRd it since it's a new one we haven't seen yet! Thinking it might help me decide which value I'd prefer (or rather which the family would prefer)... :-)

Hi Koh and Pas, I watched it. It's pretty good, especially about AKL I think they do a great job of featuring that resort! :thumbsup2 I also think they have some great photography of Art of Animation.

Hi RCers,
The last two days dh has been telecommuting from home. It is not easy to have someone in my workspace.:rotfl: My schedule is all jumbled up due to frequent conference calls. Is it a bad thing that I am so looking forward to tomorrow when things get back to normal??? (And I can run the dishwasher, washer and dryer whenever I want!! :yay:):laundy:
