Our little thread of BIG changes, the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

So I'm looking at a 2 bedroom timeshare for Dec 7th thru the Dec 14th .... should I book it???? :confused3
DH is off the Thursday and Friday before that weekend, :rolleyes1

Popping in to say hi!! Glad I'm not alone in wanting to drag out the planning and changing process for as long as possible!! :-)
:flower3:

There's a dog I passed while going to work at my prev school, his person always seems to walk him at the same time every day. He goes for his walkies with a harness contraption that has a frame with wheels for his rear. A sling that goes under the rear to support him. He uses front legs to walk. Sounds like what you are describing?
The dog seems happy with the set up! Great idea for Bella!

Bobs saga, :rotfl: you keep a good sense of humor about it!!
Sheila is one strong lady

So excited I had to share! Got home from work, and in my email was a pin!! As some may know, I check into POR on the 29th! Booked the Stay, Play, Dine promo.

This Pin is for free dining or room discount! I forwarded the pin email to my excellent TA right away! Within 10 minutes of me sending her Pin, she had me rebooked at POR with the Free Dining Pin, and i saved $279!!! and that's after they took off the $50 last minute change fee, and $15 admin fee!! :cheer2::cheer2:

Especially impressed with TA since I'm on the west coast, and she's on the east!! So it was late her time! Prob close to 8pm EST! That's what I call service!
SO AWESOME!!! My TA deserves a raise for dealing with me :confused3

congrats! that is awesome!
:goodvibes Thanks for popping in our little neck of the DIS

It's just a long weekend trip. The dates are August 29 - September 1. I'm actually meeting my friend in Atlanta and then we're driving down to WDW from there. After she picks me up from the Atlanta airport, she is going to take me to show me some of the places they film The Walking Dead. We are both huge fans of the show. I am as excited about that as I am the WDW part of the trip.

My DH would LOVE that...

Thanks for the trip happiness for us Lacey! It was a wild, crazy and implusive decision for us, but things have happened lately and we just grabbed at the rate. We are on the Dream again, and this time will know our way around, and what to expect, where to go etc. I am really looking forward to it. What ship are you guys on? Fantasy? If all works out I am hoping to rebook onboard for Alaska 2015. :rolleyes1

Hope you do!!! We sailed the Wonder to Alaska in 2012 and it was one of my favorite vacations ever - really an amazing experience and I highly recommend it! We booked a family room with verandah and we all just loved it. Happy to answer any questions as you're considering it for 2015!

My family really wants to do Alaska in 2015 too! I am not sure we can swing it but I am hoping the cruise is open so we can price it for the OBB. I'd love to do that and I think we all would love it! Jen - you will have to let me know how it compares with one verandah room to two OV rooms. I am thinking it might be nice to have two bathrooms even if that means giving up the verandah. We have one verandah room booked but some friends are telling me I am going to be sorry - of course they are comparing with a different cruise line and I think the DCL rooms are bigger :crazy2:

Lacey, HI :wave2: good to "see" you....refresh my memory where are you off to in a few weeks that you need passports?? The cruise, right? and please give me your dates for the RC list, somehow I missed you .. it's weird 'cause I thought you were on it! See, I need more practice at this RCing ....:goodvibes

Hello ladies! :grouphug:
Lacey: Where are you guys off to?! popcorn::

~~===========~~

We took Miss M to see Frozen yesterday. :goodvibes Was hard to tell if she really enjoyed it, but the singing of the movie songs all last night might be a big enough clue. :rolleyes1 I love the "strong female main character" trend with animated films; I hope it long continues.

We are headed to a FWC on 2/6 followed by 3 night cruise on the Magic followed by a night at CR. I am sooo excited!

I am hoping to catch Frozen on the ship!
Hey ladies! :wave2:

I've been trying to lurk here and there, but I had to pop in today since I am finally booked for 2014! :cool1:

We are Poly bound 8/2-8/12 with an amazing deal from that TA which must remain unnamed. :rotfl2: :hyper::hyper::hyper:

Christmas at the VGF was beyond amazing. :lovestruc Crowds were great too. I expected it to be packed, but I guess we got out before the crazy hit. :confused3 Highlight of the trip was watching Holiday Illuminations on CHristmas Eve. I must do this again. Soon!

Anyway... miss all of you! Hope I can pop in more often soon. :goodvibes
How does GFV rank against your favorites?
We LOVED Frozen!!! My girls have already seen it twice and we've been playing the soundtrack non stop.

And no. We have not changed to the Poly, we are sticking with GF. :goodvibes. It's just the right choice for this trip. :woohoo:

Another development...we have now decided against doing annual passes and will just do a 7 night cruise in 2015 instead. I think (I know) that DH is getting burnt out on Disney....he loves it but this is the 5th year in a row and he just wants something different. He gets so excited about the cruise. I want him to be excited about our vacations and not just go along with it. He'd like to do Disney parks in even years and cruise or other vacation in odd years. I think that's fair. Gotta keep the hubs happy. :goodvibes

I may upgrade my ticket to an AP though and sneak in another girls trip. :goodvibes

Love the idea of upgrading your ticket to an ap for another girls trip!!! Really sounds like something I would do! :thumbsup2
How about a girls trip the first weekend of F&W??? That is the last weekend before my AP expires!

Pop two rooms for a total of $250 a night

So DD told me yesterday that Jasmine is her favorite princess...(she was at CRT last year - first time I'd seen her there). So now I'm rethinking ADRs...

How many beds are in an AoA suite then? If you're only saving $50 at Pop, I'd go with AoA or CS then...

He's off Dec 4th and 5th?
Yeppers ;)

AoA looks super cool, BUT I might opt for 2 rooms so your mom and DMIL can have their own room (then the kids can take turns crashing their beds LOL...)
With AoA you have 1 queen and 2 full for a total of 3 beds. I would choose Pop as it is a smaller resort, and I dislike internal buses...:confused3 But CSR has a cool pool slide. But Pop is neat. Yea...I am helpful NOT:lmao:

:thumbsup2 CRT is on our list. I was goint to book breakfast, but we have CL and we like a midday break, maybe we will do lunch instead :confused3

Hello ladies. :grouphug:

I bought the Frozen soundtrack for Miss M yesterday. Or was that for me...? :rolleyes1

Also, I booked the dessert party for the day after we arrive. :woohoo: Very excited about trying it out and thought it'd be something special for her. So far, it's just Via Napoli on her birthday (followed by Beaches and Cream... or was that gelato... or was that a funnel cake? :confused3) and the dessert party. I'm going to call and book the Behind the Seeds tour too and leave it at that so we don't feel like we need to rush around the entire time.

Does anyone know the status of the parking garage at DTD?

So THAT's what they're building! All I saw was a massive hole in the ground and huge support beams sticking out of the ground but I thought that's what they were doing. Might be done by 2020.

Hello ladies, Just sitting around for all of 10 minutes before getting the girls from school, and thought I would pop in and say hi! Getting our van repaired right now...transmission went!:scared1: Thank goodness we bought the extended warranty, it is all covered. Did I say THANK GOODNESS???:faint: If not that would have put us in a terrible position right now.

SueM: Congrats on the pin code! Lucky duck!

Miss: Oooh the dessert party...sounds fab! And Via Napoli is sooo yummy too, sounds like a great birthday dinner for Miss M! Is she turning 7?

Jeanette: Hope you are not working too hard!

Sheila: Hi! Glad to hear from you, and sorry to hear Bella has not gotten a lot better yet. She is so lucky to have you tho. And Bob...sigh what can I say??:rolleyes1

Wookie: I hear ya about the laundry thing. I swear it is like that machine us running 24/7 over here.:sad2:

Lacey: I will for sure give a review of the Oceanview rooms instead of the veranda! Still cannot believe we are going again!!:dance3:

Well...hi to all, and thinking of our pal Melissa....

Almost TGIF! :cool1:

Iheart: YAY!! So good to “see” you posting… just the other day I was driving to work and you popped into my head :goodvibes I’ve been wondering how life was going for you. Congrats on your great deal on the Poly  from the Travel Agency that “must not be named”:)

Sue, wow! Congrats on the PIN! :dance3: My sister also received the FD pin. So where will Disney gain the your extra $$? :upsidedow

MM, :thumbsup2 for the cruise in '15! And I vote for you to renew the AP for another girls trip. :)

Marie, hope DH’s appt went well and that you rec’d positive news. Sorry about your fur baby Luke… It takes a bit to get into the swing of giving shots. Just focus on the positive effects of the insulin for him and it may make it a bit easier.

Sheila, for you... :flower3:I like the idea of the doggie harness Sue suggested and hoping Bella will too.

The S.O.B. updates gets me all the time! :rotfl2: The CRS (can't remember sh*t) happens to us all.

Linda, Go for the timeshare!! A wonderful time to visit Disney (and kind of fitting since you missed out this year ) ... who knows? you may get some unexpected visitors that just might want to celebrate birthdays with you!! :teeth:

Jen.. WHEW!! so thankful you have the extended warranty!! What a lifesaver!

Miss, liking the dessert party for an extra special for Miss M. :flower3: and the Behind the seeds tour. I'd like to do that one as well. We still haven't seen Frozen and hoping to do so this weekend.

Lacey, with your group my vote would be for 2 rooms.. as Pas posted, both Moms in one bedroom, with you and the kids in the other. As much as AoA is enticing for me, the bed situation / privacy is not as ideal on this trip, as the POP or CSR with 4 regular or 4 queen beds. Pop saves $50/night, but what is the overall savings? How many nights? Have you stayed at one over the other? Pop is lots of fun, great CMs and bus service, and AoA is across the bridge to explore. CSR has an amazing pool and beautiful grounds for starters. Sooo maybe if not as $$ driven, ask the kids (and Moms). :)

I agree too!! Hi Janet!

Wookie your August trip sounds fun! I think you'll be arriving around when we ate leaving.

Thanks, I really think we'll have a blast.

Spring cleaning already!! Wow, impressive! Since my summer renos, I've bern trying to keep that laundry rule too!
Great job on the early spring cleaning!

Well I kind of had to, in order to make room for the tv. I'm hoping the cable guys can get out here before the Olympics start.

I need to get the Frozen soundtrack.

I'm thinking about adding the dessert party to our trip. My friend is being resistant to me paying for her breakfast at Crystal Palace. I want to do something nice for her since we are getting the room and tickets with her military discount. I might surprise her with the dessert party.

Wookie: I hear ya about the laundry thing. I swear it is like that machine us running 24/7 over here.:sad2:

jen

The problem with doing laundry here, is that we have 6 people in the house. Then we have an aerobic septic system and because of that, my fil & mil insist on waiting 30 minutes between loads of laundry in the washer and shower/baths. It can be tricky trying to fit it all in.

I went to work with the DH today and one of his customers had about a 1/2 dozen ponies. I got out of the car, it was about 27-ish, to pet them. I heard a noise, and when I looked up a Pit Bull was running as fast as it could straight toward me. It was such a sweetie. If my toes, nose, and ears hadn't been freezing at the time, I would have stayed outside the car to pet it. I wish I had gone with him yesterday. He went to a house that ran a dog rescue group. They had several dozen dogs like Basset Hounds, Great Pyreneeses, Newfoundlands, and Irish Wolfhounds. I told him, if I had been there, I would have just stayed for the rest of the day with them and played with the fur babies all day.

If it improves the DTD parking situation :cool1: The buses there seem to take forever, but probably because we need to stay somewhere closer to DTD ;) When we owned points at SSR we walked there, it was great! (We would've taken the boat..but I got lost trying to find the dock...don't ask, it was when SSR was still partially built :confused3

I am LOVING your plans for May

Jeanette: Hope you are not working too hard!

jen
Nope, still just working one job :rotfl2: Had a wicked GI bug yesterday...ate a piece of leftover meatloaf (which I should've tossed...my bad) 2 hours later :faint: I am better (and 5 lbs. lighter) today :lmao: You must be SO excited. Tomorrow is Brandon's 13th birthday, I can't believe it! His plans, to volunteer at school for a band event. LOVE that boy! On request I am baking him a cake today, he said my cakes are better that the bakery. And I took the day off, hope he spends a little time at home ::yes::

So I've been thinking ..... Maybe arrive Dec 3rd staying onsite ... shouldn't one of the not to be named TAs have good rates that week???? And then on Sunday Dec 7th move offsite to a timeshare .... now I just need to figure out which one. Anyone bored to today take a look at websites for Marriott's Harbour Lake, Marriott's Cypress Harbor, Sheraton Vistana Villages and Sheraton Vistana Resort. I'm leaning towards Sheraton Vistana Resort since it's the closest to WDW but none of them are a bad commute. Let me know what you think.

Oh I hope you feel better!!! And an early Happy Birthday to Brandon ... a teenager!!! pixiedust:

Marie I hear you on the plummeting CAD :sad2: I'm glad I paid for my upcoming trip mostly with a higher dollar. And did pay for August flights with high dollar, but the rest, ugh. May mean not many TS meals in August, or suvies. Good thing I'm on the DDP for this trip, 1 week from today!!

Hope your husband get good report from doctor!

Poor kitty :sad1:

Wookie your August trip sounds fun! I think you'll be arriving around when we ate leaving. Spring cleaning already!! Wow, impressive! Since my summer renos, I've bern trying to keep that laundry rule too!

It's almost time!!!! Excitement mounts!!!!
