Our little thread of BIG changes, the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

We are holding strong on a Poly . Hope pool will be open, but if it isn't, they'll shuttle to gf pool.
I hope it is open for your Sue!! That would be great, but the GF is awesome best of both!

Pas, a BIG congrats on the new job!!:thumbsup2 You will rock it cause you are amazing at what you do! And way to go on dropping 4 lbs, getting in shape and eating healthier means you are taking care of you
 Thanks BFF

Jeanette: Congratulations! :worship: I love that GF is used as a threat. :lmao:
I know, right? How crazy:lmao: My DH has not stopped wearing Universal shirts all week, he's lucky he's been busting his butt shoveling or I'd beat him :lmao:

We are Poly bound 8/2-8/12 with an amazing deal from that TA which must remain unnamed.
NICE!!! We miss you too!!! I am tempted to ask the % off...did you book CL??? For late August it was a crazy deal! Why do I ask, I can't change dates...:rolleyes1 our beach place is sold out for August (the beachfront condos anyway) I am glad I booked!

And no. We have not changed to the Poly, we are sticking with GF. :goodvibes. It's just the right choice for this trip. :woohoo:
I am happy to hear this Candace, I really think the Poly is awesome. But not a good time for a long trip there....not if you can get Sugarloaf at 40% off ;)

No resort changes here, but we did change our FP+ selections around a bit, does that count? :lmao: Nothing special, just moving the times around to make the day not revolve as much around the three FP+.
Of course that counts!!!

I did customize our bands the other night. :-) DS is yellow, DD is pink, DH is red, and I am green. Really wish they had purple. What's up with that?
I know, Kate loves purple!

Love the idea of upgrading your ticket to an ap for another girls trip!!! Really sounds like something I would do! :thumbsup2
:thumbsup2 That's so true, Mama!
First off, bless you for taking your time at a demanding but amazing job! Our little Peanut came 2 months early and the Ped ER staff were amazing at helping both of us and getting our little trooper on a help to Georgetown before she was an hour old. She is doing amazingly now but the docs and nurses on both ends hold a special place in my heart!

Love that you are working US in your plans... saw a commercial with the new HP stuff and am trying to figure when we can work a visit in.

We are starting to talk our next move which is both exciting and stressful. I love being back on my home turf but miss seeing new places... and we can always come back. Best thing is that 2 good options put us near Disney ;-) and are jobs DH enjoys... double plus!!!

*hugs* to all!
A move near Disney :thumbsup2

Those HP commercials, are what inspired me! And thank you  There is nothing more rewarding that saving a baby. NOTHING! I've had my share of kids that come back and visit for a minor injury after being there with something major. Having the little ones remember me "Hey that's MY nurse Miss Jeanette" I love it :goodvibes

Pas congrats on job:thumbsup2 looking at your Universal dates :sad2: we will just miss you, as we transfer to Poly on 8/20. I'm still holding firm on Poly. I heard rumours they've pushed back pool renos, so who knows? I'll keep watching.
But we will still be at WDW together!!! We are bound to have a park day in common!!! DH and I did the Behind the Seeds tour, in August...it was a great escape from a TStorm, and climate controlled!!:yay:
I know it was not mention but I vote for BWI CL for you guys! The pool slide was soooo much fun, a wee bit better than the Poly pool. :duck: It was bigger overall too. Just my opinion! :rolleyes1
And her DH wants BWI BAD :rotfl2:

Congrats on the job! Your plan sounds good! Staying onsite at Universal is amazing and the resorts are so nice.
Pas, woo hoo for BC CL! I see you added CL and I'm so happy for you! I know your kids love a "snack room!"
Thank you  It's timed perfectly..the end of our trip!!

Congrats on the Poly!!:dance3:

iheart don't be nervous, I booked with them last Labour Day, and again for upcoming trip & August.
We are there 2 weeks in Aug, but I think I'm getting lazy, after my 3 resort split last Aug  1st night Pop, 2 nights GF, & 10 at YC. It may be nice to just settle in somewhere. And we are doing the Universal split stay deal, 3 nights at Portifino first, but you never know!! I really liked GF :rotfl: :rolleyes1

Yes, I am getting excited! Today & tomorrow work, then we r gone :woohoo: I don't know how I'm going to get thru it! In my head I'm already gone :beach:

stopping by with a quick Hello  been reading along and love reading everyone's plans and changes since I am living vicariously thru all my dear friends here

Hopeing everyone is staying warm and safe with this crazy "Arctic Vortex" weather, woke up this morning and it was only 1 degree, -18 with the windchill Brrrrrrrrr

Bella is the same am thinking of getting her a doggie wheelchair but going to try a rear leg lift harness first.

Saga of Bob So we are shopping the other day and I left him at the deli counter while I ventured off to the produce aisle, he catches up to me and puts a pond of ham and a pound of bologna into the cart so I ask where's the cheese? Yep he forgot to get it :rotfl2:

Have a Great Day All :goodvibes
 Bob's antics make me laugh...but if I were you I'd be :headache: so here's an extra  Hope Bella remains in good spirits, sorry there's been no change

Pas yes, that's true! We will be at wdw together! Maybe we can meet up at Capt. Cooks for a Dole Whip, or Hurricane Hana's!

Standard view rooms were 53% off. :dance3: No CL, it was not discounted as much, I think 38% off maybe?

Glad you nabbed your condo in time. :beach:

Wish I could move my trip back and do the late August deal with all of you ladies, but the kids start school too soon. :sad2: Should be a great time for DIS meets! :thumbsup2

 OOOoooooOOOOOHHHHH sounds as good as the last August deal...:scratchin

Last year CL was $100 more with their rate, this year it's $200...but I am such a sucker for CL
I am hopeless....Can't do it, DH is working the weekend of 8/9...Our kids start after Labor Day so that weekend we will be driving home...hopefully the opposite direction of any traffic :rolleyes1

:grouphug: to everyone! Just wanted to stop in and say HI and I am following along with all your plans, missing the world something awful. I am really trying to figure out how I can get back again by next yr. around Jan 2015 if possible! Even if it is just DH and I..... I can't wait on my kiddos forever to have money to tag along! My DS Andrew (17/almost 18) has wanted me to take him and his GF for 2 yrs they've been planning -- but his life to come (he wants to join the military) will be so up in the air, I just can't be making plans with things so unknown! It would be nice to go with DH though on a vacation with just the 2 of us. Another factor that may put a damper on my USA bound trips is our CDN $$ is falling so fast :( It was nice while parity lasted, but right now the outlook is dismal.... not as bad as the early 80's and 90's but having the $$ at .91 is not looking good for savings!

If DH and I can't make it back, hopefully he'd be up for me going to meet some of my Dis friends again, and another girls trip could hopefully fit into my plans! We will see how the year goes. with prices looking so high, it would be best for us to rent points at AKL Kidani probably, however, with schedules so up in the air, even that scenario won't work for us right now!
I'd love to do BWI CL..... but that would have to be a DH and I solo trip/ or a girls trip sharing the cost with someone!
ugh.... no matter how things pan out , I sure hope Disney is in there somewhere within 2015/16 somehow!!!

Today I am leaving work early as we have to go to the University Hospital with DH. His joint started feeling sore where it was replaced and making cracking/popping sounds.... PT/OT wasn't very confident about doing anything more until the surgeon looks at it again and makes sure everything is ok....we where supposed to go next WED (Jan 29./ my BDAY) but they where worried enough they got him into the surgeon for today. I have 30 min left of work and then we are heading to the clinic.

On Non-Disney/ hubby related news, My DK (Darling Kitty :) ) Luke was diagnoesed this week with Diabetes....so it's a new adventure trying to learn to give insulin shots to my cat! I did it once last night....not bad, but let's say I'd prefer to leave it in DH's capable hands.... he gives needles much better. I can give it in a pinch, but I am sure Luke prefers Allan's softer touch :) LOL... it's nerve-wracking. All I can say, is thankfully I have pet insurance to help defray the costs somewhat. Allthough the biggest expense is the All wet food diet he needs to be on, which isn't covered. but at least some of the blood work is 80% covered! I tell you, my kids should become vetrenarians! They make a killing!!! lol

Well, must close out for now happy Hump day my friends!.... Wish us well!

Marie

Hi

Hi Grumpy Grandma! How are you, and how's that California weather? Hope you're keeping the sunshine out there for us - only FOUR MORE DAYS until we're in Newport Beach again for a week!

Way too much sunshine out here!!! Warm and dry!!! We are in the middle of the worst drought in history! So all of you in the snowy/rainy part of the country please send it our way! On a happier note NEWPORT BEACH!!! :cloud9:
Enjoy your time there .... but that goes without saying.

Marie  I future girls trip to BWI CL sounds dreamy :cloud9: Of course I want your DH and you to go..BUT I'll happy take his place. Oh I dream to go on a girls trip one day! There's a nursing conference at Disneyland Hotel March 8th..I asked quietly :duck: you would have thought I was asking for a divorce  Poor kitty, my MIL had a pup with diabetes...he was fine, she was busy.....Good luck at the surgeon's with DH

School is taking over all my computer time, and it stinks :coffee: On the positive side..I've lost 4 lbs. in the last two weeks, and one of my assignments for my Chemistry/nutrition course is to track my food and weight...good timing.
In other breaking news, I have a new job that I will start in February. I am really nervous but excited, I will be working in a dedicated pediatric ER :cool1: I've worked in the specialty before, but it's been part of an adult ER so I am excited. It's also very close to home, and the pay rocks. So my plan is to work about 12 hours a week there (one shift) and 2 shifts at transport. Yes, my friends...normal schedule (well nights so not really normal....but only 3 nights a week).

On to my change.....

Anna Maria Island Aug. 15th-22nd
Hard Rock Hotel Aug. 22-24th
Beach Club CL Aug. 24-29th:beach:

DH says it'll change to all Universal...ummmm NO. Not a chance. This is a gift to them...a day at US/IoA....that's it....bright and early Sunday it's time for Disney pixiedust:

Better late than never .... congrats on the new job!

Popping in to say hi!! Glad I'm not alone in wanting to drag out the planning and changing process for as long as possible!! :-)

There's a dog I passed while going to work at my prev school, his person always seems to walk him at the same time every day. He goes for his walkies with a harness contraption that has a frame with wheels for his rear. A sling that goes under the rear to support him. He uses front legs to walk. Sounds like what you are describing?
The dog seems happy with the set up! Great idea for Bella!

Bobs saga, :rotfl: you keep a good sense of humor about it!!

So excited I had to share! Got home from work, and in my email was a pin!! As some may know, I check into POR on the 29th! Booked the Stay, Play, Dine promo.

This Pin is for free dining or room discount! I forwarded the pin email to my excellent TA right away! Within 10 minutes of me sending her Pin, she had me rebooked at POR with the Free Dining Pin, and i saved $279!!! and that's after they took off the $50 last minute change fee, and $15 admin fee!! :cheer2::cheer2:

Especially impressed with TA since I'm on the west coast, and she's on the east!! So it was late her time! Prob close to 8pm EST! That's what I call service!

congrats! that is awesome!

Wookie, Cinna is so cool, definitely a favorite character of mine too and I didn't like that scene either And please give me girls trip dates for the RC list ... we'll just put "resort TBD"
It's just a long weekend trip. The dates are August 29 - September 1. I'm actually meeting my friend in Atlanta and then we're driving down to WDW from there. After she picks me up from the Atlanta airport, she is going to take me to show me some of the places they film The Walking Dead. We are both huge fans of the show. I am as excited about that as I am the WDW part of the trip.
Wookie: I've been to the Luau but I was about 5 at the time so I can't remember a single thing about it. :rotfl:
:rotfl: thanks anyway :thumbsup2
We took Miss M to see Frozen yesterday. Was hard to tell if she really enjoyed it, but the singing of the movie songs all last night might be a big enough clue. I love the "strong female main character" trend with animated films; I hope it long continues.
I would love to go see it again.
Hey ladies! I've been trying to lurk here and there, but I had to pop in today since I am finally booked for 2014! :cool1: We are Poly bound 8/2-8/12 with an amazing deal from that TA which must remain unnamed. :rotfl2: :hyper::hyper::hyper: Christmas at the VGF was beyond amazing. :lovestruc Crowds were great too. I expected it to be packed, but I guess we got out before the crazy hit. :confused3 Highlight of the trip was watching Holiday Illuminations on CHristmas Eve. I must do this again. Soon! Anyway... miss all of you! Hope I can pop in more often soon. :goodvibes
I'm glad you had such a great trip!! I would love to stay at the VGF and the GF one day.
Another development...we have now decided against doing annual passes and will just do a 7 night cruise in 2015 instead. I think (I know) that DH is getting burnt out on Disney....he loves it but this is the 5th year in a row and he just wants something different. He gets so excited about the cruise. I want him to be excited about our vacations and not just go along with it. He'd like to do Disney parks in even years and cruise or other vacation in odd years. I think that's fair. Gotta keep the hubs happy. :goodvibes I may upgrade my ticket to an AP though and sneak in another girls trip. :goodvibes
I would love to do a cruise. I think I am really going to push for it for 2016. I can say it's for Joey's high school graduation.
Wookie, I've been to the Luau too, but I was 11 years old, so I don't have much to add either!
That's ok, thank you anyway
I would definitely do Epcot resort then... so convenient to get to World Showcase and The Land!
That is what we were thinking. Now we just need to make the budget understand that. I haven't been working full time and would really need to work a minimum of 3 days a week to make that happen. If I could work 5 days a week, I might be able to surprise my friend with CL.
And let me know if you need any DC area insight; I grew up outside DC, went to college here and am back with the Navy (I keep telling hubby I asked for exotic and got home again) :-)
I was talking to my sister this week and asking her how the house hunt was going. She is in a short rental on a house, only 6 months, and is looking for one to buy. She said the house hunt was depressing. Everything she finds is either really expensive or has stairs. She has an elderly Irish Wolfhound and I think she wants something that is single story (of course a basement is fine) for the fur-baby. She wants something close to the Falls Church area, if you have any suggestions of good areas to look. How good the school district is doesn't matter because they don't currently have, and are not planning on having any children (other than their fur babies).

We did the luau years ago but loved it! Ironically, it was before we moved to Hawaii but DH and I ranked it up with our fave luau from the islands. The storyline is kind of 'eh' but the dancers are amazing and the food was better than some of the luau we did in HI. Also, the all you can drink beer and wine made it even more...magical. :-)

It looks like it would be fun. The only luau I have even been to was in Las Vegas. How was the food?

Wookie I was thinking of doing the Behind The Seeds tour this trip, I think January would be better then our August trips when it's sweltering in there!

Hopefully, it won't be too bad. I'm planning on taking several things to help keep me cool.

WOOT!! Sounds like you have a great TA. Nothing new going on with our trip. Earlier this week, I was able to get an early start on Spring cleaning in our room. I need to make some room, so I can put a tv in here before the Olympics start. Plus I started this new rule with our laundry and so far it is working. I have a bad habit of falling behind on laundry. Then I only wash what we need for the next day or two, then leaving it folded up in a clothes basket. The new rule is, if it gets put in the washing machine, it has to be put away in a closet or drawer before I go to bed. Right now, I have a full basket sitting on the end of my bed waiting for me to deal with it. Y'all have a great night.

Marie I hear you on the plummeting CAD :sad2: I'm glad I paid for my upcoming trip mostly with a higher dollar. And did pay for August flights with high dollar, but the rest, ugh. May mean not many TS meals in August, or suvies. Good thing I'm on the DDP for this trip, 1 week from today!!

Hope your husband get good report from doctor!

Poor kitty :sad1:

Wookie your August trip sounds fun! I think you'll be arriving around when we ate leaving. Spring cleaning already!! Wow, impressive! Since my summer renos, I've bern trying to keep that laundry rule too!

Right now, I have a full basket sitting on the end of my bed waiting for me to deal with it. Y'all have a great night.

And here I thought I was the only one who lived out of laundy baskets. I'm not making any goals to change that though. :rolleyes1

Great job on the early spring cleaning!
