password: 4weeks

Filmed with Panasonic Lumix GH1 with a variety of lenses and a Digital Harinezumi 2. Edited with Adobe Premiere CS5

Hope you'll enjoy it. :happytv: It's a bit longer than I'd usually like for a vacation video, but then, our vacation was twice as long as usual! ;)

It is an awesome videa! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 :worship:

Thank you for sharing. Who is the master behind the creation of your videos? Is it a team effort? Your choice of clips and music are brilliant, as always.

Thank you! :)
Usually it's a team effort, but this time, about 90% of the filming was done by yours truly. I had to give the camera to DH to make sure I'd at least make an appearance in the video!
Since it is out job to film (I started our little company 8 years ago) we often don't feel like it while we're on vacation. It's a matter of "you do it" followed by "no, you do it".
All the editing, again by yours truly.

oh wow!! i've only seen a short bit of it, but i'm loving it so far!!!!
i'm going to switch to my other computer, because the stupid company firewall is slowing down the streaming (which drives me nuts)...

anyway, so far it's brilliant!!!!!

ok...off to see the whole thing! :)

Well it's incredible and absolutely worth the effort. I deliberately took lots of short clips on our last trip to make a video, but fiddling with the editing software had two results: choice words and a bad mood that followed. :rotfl:

Terrific video, thankyou so so much for sharing :thumbsup2 But now I'm depressed need a WDW fix now!!!!

finally managed to see it all the way to the end!! absolutely brilliant!!! :worship:
how cool that you have both the halloween party and xmas party parades....

what's the music that is background to the middle part of the video?

i love the whole thing! thanks for sharing it with us!!!!!

love it as always!!
Can I ask what editing software you use ?? I have so muc video of my kids that id love to be bale to play with it and come up with something watchable !!

how was the Queen Mary2? how would you rate cunard vs disney?

how many days is the crossing?

The crossing was 6 nights. On 5 of those nights, you are given extra hour!
The QM2 was great. We hadn't sailed with Cunard before, only Royal Caribbean, and I can tell you, it is different! It is more luxurious and the food is definitely better than Disney and Royal. It is mainly a lot more formal than Royal or Disney. Formal nights, and there were 3 on our crossing, are really very formal. Even during the day, the dress code isn't as relaxed as other lines. Also, a lot more older people onboard. There's afternoon tea every day, which is fab, and great for people watching. Service (with the exception of one wine waiter) was perfect, but a lot more distant than Royal or Disney. Not saying this was a bad thing, the whole atmosphere of the Cunard voyage, was a lot more reserved. We did find that the ship was a bit full of itself, all the art work onboard was about the history of Cunard and a bit stuffy in our opinion. We loved both, Cunard and Disney, but they are very different.
And to get across the Atlantic, it's just THE way to go. It's cheaper than flying first/business/Upper Class, even if you go for balcony cabin, which we did (unless you go for the very expensive suites obviously). We did book through a US agent which saved us quite a bit of money on any price we could get over here. And arriving in New York in the early hours of morning, seeing the skyline appear, going under the Verrazano Bridge, that first glimpse of the Statue of Liberty... it's just surreal! Oh, and no jetlag!

Music to the middle part it Garry Shyman - Praan. It's from the "Where the hell is Matt"-video.

As for the MNSSHP & MVMCP, I had actually booked our trip specifically so we'd be able to do 2 parties! It was a bit surreal, one night you're at the MK celebrating Halloween, then 2 days later, the Christmas decorations are up!

love it as always!!

We use Adobe Premiere CS5, but that might be a bit too expensive and overkill for you (it's about £800!).
If you're using a PC, you can always get Windows Movie Maker which is available as a free download. It's basic, but good for a home user. If you're on Mac, there's always iMovie, which I think is also free.
If you want to go a step or 2 up from that, there's Adobe Premiere Elements, which is about £80 which is available both on PC and Mac.

that is so cool about both parties!! i would love to schedule a trip that way..

i'm dying to go on the QM2 or the new Elizabeth.
I was on the original QM way back in 1963, when i was 7 years old.
we crossed both ways by ship on that trip.
we were first class and that was back in the day when they really meant it.
There were locked gates separating the classes.
And we had a butler  !

anyway, i'd really like to go by ship, but it takes so much time.
and i'll never be able to afford traveling in the sort of style i did as a kid - i looked at the price - maybe i can manage an inside cabin.

it was wonderful seeing the QM2 in your video....made me start thinking about it again....maybe after my daughter's wedding i'll have some more time....

by the way, were there any seasickness issues? you were crossing during hurricane season..

If you shop around, you can find some really good deals though. We did, saved about 60% on the best price we could get in the UK, plus had $300 onboard credit. We didn't spend much onboard though, we just took the time to catch up on sleep and just relax after a very very busy period at work. We missed breakfast a couple of times!
As for seasickness, it was really ok. I often suffer a bit of queezy-ness the first day at sea, and this was the case here too, but it's only the first morning and after I eat a green apple I'm ok. We actually got the green apple tip on a cruise a few years ago, and it has worked for me. Thing is, Cunard build ocean liners, not cruise ships (you really get told this onboard, you see it's not a cruise, it's a voyage or crossing :snooty:). Difference being that an ocean liner has about 40% more steel in the hull than a similar sized cruise ship, and the way she's designed is meant to go through pretty much any weather condition at full speed. She's a very very stable ship. We've had days where the swells were quite high, outdoor decks being closed an all, yet the ship itself was going "nah nanah nanah" at the waves ;) Whereas when we went on the Disney one 2 weeks later, we could feel that one rocking quite a bit more even though the seas were a lot calmer.
MrNeo and I were day dreaming earlier on that if we'd win the lottery big time, we'd want to go on a world voyage. We both agreed that it would most likely be with Cunard and not with a line like Royal Caribbean or Disney.

that's another big dream - around the world on one of the cunard ships....
i actually priced it just the other day - i think the lowest class was something like $35,000 per person for a 101 day sailing......

do you remember where you found your deal on the QM2? 60% is incredible savings!!

We booked it via cruise.com. But a lot of agents in the US had a similar price to them, they won because they also gave $300 onboard credit.
The prices we could get in the UK were always inclusive of a return flight, which we didn't want. Removing the price for the return flight only took off £300, which I thought was ridiculous and still made it more expensive than the US prices.
We calculated when we booked that the dollar rate would have to drop to lower $1.25 by final payment time before we would have made a loss by not booking in the UK.
And a few weeks before final payment was due, there was a price drop of about $150! :woohoo:

thanks for the info! I saw that there are lots of websites with big discounts, but i'd be afraid to buy from any of them without knowing that others have already done so..
i'm going to look at cruise.com.

I wonder if they have any last minute specials.
