~Our June '09 adventure~ I'm home! Started TR 7/2

Hall of Presidents

Never done this.. did see the "how its made" things on the travel channel.. and it was cool! I will def check it out when the updates are done in the future.

My dad made us do Hall of Presidents as kids so I always hated it because I didn't know anything. The last few times I've been there I still just think I hate it! Then it was closed for refurb and I thought - Aw man! Now that I know about history it MIGHT be interesting! And if it's not, then it's air conditioned and I can take a nap :)

Attraction of the Day...

Hall of Presidents

I remember the first time that we saw this show, I was amazed at the animatronics. Also, if anyone has seen the behind the scenes WDW shows on the Travel Channel, one of them shows how they were made. So cool! I can't wait to see how Pres.Obama looks.

This is another attraction we haven't done in YEARS but I think we are going to do it in August to see Obama!

Have you ever seen America's Funniest Home Videos when they've had people's videos of the Hall of Presidents and the audio-animatronics collapse?! :scared1::laughing: I think there was even one of Lincoln collapsing...

Hi Tink! I'm working on getting caught up on all the attractions, but I had to comment about your ADRs, they look great! I love all the places you guys are going to, except the Luau and Olivia's, I've never tried those before. I really want to try the Luau when we go on our honeymoon, how is it??

Ok here is my start at getting caught up on the rest, working backwards:

Flights of Wonder
: We did this for the first time in January and loved it! My dad got to be part of the show, they had him video tape while an owl landed right above his head. Very cool!

Primeival Whirl: This is one of my favorites at AK! The first time I ever rode it, I didn't know it spun around too so that was exciting haha.

Hall of Presidents:
The running joke in our family is that my mom and I are the only ones who ever stay awake for this. Last time we did it, we looked around and my dad, sis, and brother were all SNORING! Too bad, I love it, it's the teacher in me who loved the educational stuff, and I'm sad it will be closed this year.

Country Bear Jamboree: We usually go at Christmas time so I've only seen that version of the show in WDW. I saw the regular one in Disneyland but it was a long time ago.

How is school and everything going for you Tink? Our trips are so soon, you guys must be so excited!! Is DBF going with you guys this time??

CBJ not a big fan of this. But I do it because it's Disney tradition. :goodvibes

Hall of Presidents never done this! I wanted to in November but when I went over it was closed...of course right! The one time I actually head over there and it's closed go figure! Turns out it's not opening till July so I'll miss it on this trip too.

Astro orbiter- I've only been on this twice and loved it! It was last May during a Dis meet. A few of us wanted to go on and turns out the CM messed up somehow and we got to ride 2 times in a row! It was so cool seeing everything all lit up at night from high above tomorrowland. Here is some pics...

No story for Hall of Presidents, but I have seen it a few times dating from way back when there were several fewer presidents there!
(I was there in 1971, the first year Magic Kingdom opened.)

If it opens back up in July as scheduled, we will try to see it with the addition of Obama. Jill's not crazy about it, but she'll probably want to see the rehab. I took Brooklynn in to see it and let her get a little rest while Jill held us a parade spot once.

HOP ~ I actually dig this show! I can not wait for it to open back up! I'm a history lover though. :goodvibes Last time I went I was one of about 20 people in the whole place! :sad2: That was kind of spooky! I remember going as a kid and the place would be full!?

Hey girl!! So Country Bears I've never done but BF is really looking forward to it this time. (I think I told you about the story where he learns theres a country bears show at wdw?)

Hall of Presidents I dont think I ever did either and wont get to do this time because they adding the new guy, big B.O. :lmao:

I hope you guys have a great time going out for BF's birthday tonight! I'll text you tomorrow to wish him a happy :thumbsup2

No, you never told me the story about him learning about it!

We're getting ready to leave in 10 minutes! :woohoo:

It is really neat!

Haha, it could be a GREAT nap place!

Will it be open in August?! You lucky duck!

Yes, I've seen that one! The first time they did the show at WDW (or maybe Disneyland I can't remember) Lincoln collapsed or something and this red stuff started coming through his shirt because that's what the stuff was used to make his body moved and everyone thought that the show was really a re-enactment of his assassination!

Hey girl! Oooh, you HAVE to try the Luau for your honeymoon! It's SO good. They serve the yummiest coconut bread...meat..salad...and other goodies. AND this volcano dessert! It's so awesome. Plus, the show is cute. Some of the songs are from Lilo & Stitch and I have "Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride" as one of my ring tones.

How is school and everything going for you Tink? Our trips are so soon, you guys must be so excited!! Is DBF going with you guys this time??

Wow, you did good catching up!

School's going good. Only a few weeks left!!!! Yep, B/F's coming with this time. It's so exciting because he didn't come with last trip so it just wasn't the same without him.

I love this one...

You HAVE to take a pic of Obama for me.

It is one of those things that gets skipped by alot of people.

You had a full weekend, did BF have a great bday?

Good news that everything went well on Friday at the doctors. :goodvibes

I hope the 'little guy' enjoyed the egg hunt, you are so sweet to make sure he has a great Easter. :)

Wow, his birthday Saturday night was crazy. We went bar hopping with his friends, who of course gave him shots at every bar. Yeah. Easter was fun...even though we had hang overs. :lmao:

The little guy loved finding his eggs. It was pretty nice outside, except for the darn wind!

Attraction of the Day...

Swiss Family Treehouse

I love going up through this...but this last time we went...As we were walking by the bedroom, guess what was laying on the bed?! An open Trojan! It was funny and sad at the same time. It was a good laugh, but I don't like people messing with public property; especially at a family place.

Here are a few pictures I took from the Treehouse in March. I hope it's okay just to share pictures when I don't really have a story.

I hate to hear that someone threw that 'object' up there when you were visiting. It definitely takes away from the magical, family-friendly atmosphere when people do things like that.

We still haven't done SFT. Maybe next time?

Awww I LOVE the SFT! The view from the top with Cinderella's Castle is just so beautiful and on hot days it is nice and shaded. We do it every single trip.:goodvibes
