Day One - Arrival
We woke up at 3:00am, left for the Airport at about 4:00, stopped for coffee and cherry sticks at Timmy Ho's 24-hr drive thru (If you don't know Tim Hortons I feel sorry for you) got to the Buffalo Airport in about 35 minutes, parked in the long term parking and before we got out of our car the parking shuttle was parked behind us, as I got the luggage out of the trunk the driver was picking it up and putting it on the shuttle for us, as we boarded the shuttle I couldn't believe it, the sign at the front of the bus said: Your Drivers Name is Mickey, thats right MICKEY
!!!
We checked in our luggage quickly, when the girl at the check in counter saw we were going to Florida she said "Florida, nice." My thoughts exactly, being it was like 20 degrees out, then when she saw our ME tags she got a big smile on her face "Oh, Disney World, your gonna have a great time." We then proceded thru security, this is my first time flying since 9/11, I had to take off my shoes and belt, but there were no problems. We got to our gate and waited and got on our plane. As we boarded the girl who checked our luggage we at the boarding desk and said, "There's my Disney people, have a great trip!" and our flight left right on time at 6:15 am.
We had a stop for an hour in Atlanta and got to Orlando about 10 minutes early.
No problems at all with ME, was very satisfied, we flew AirTran, my recomendation is though fly in on a participating airline and you can check in for your return flight at your resort.
We went to the ME welcome center (the counter where you check in before you get on your bus), then we were directed to the line to stand in for the bus going to the Pop Century we waited about 20 minutes, it would have been less time but they were waiting for a bus that a girl in a wheel chair could accomodate, I did not mind the wait, it was nice to see how assisting the CMs there were for her and her family. We got on the bus and had a short ride to the Pop Century. It was only about 12:00 noon so I thought we would have to put our bags in luggage assistance untill we could check in but we were able to go to our room right away. We also got exacty what we requested, 70's building and King size bed, we also had a refridgerator in our room that we did not have to pay for, that we didn't use either.
We went right to Epcot for lunch, we wanted to do Soarin' right away but there was an 80 minute wait and the fast pass return time was for like 5:00 already since we were so hungry we at right there in the Land at Sunshine Seasons, we had never planned to eat there and we are so glad we decided to, It was so good (I'm not going to go into much detail about food in this report, check the resturant board soon for my Dinning Plan Report) I recomend going there for a CS meal, we ended up going back at the end of the week. We did do Mission Space, I did Test Track but the DW was too sick from Mission Space and sat it out, I had planned to go to Epcot this day because thanks to the DIS I knew Test Trak would be closed the rest of the week, glad I rode it was great, I heard quite a few people too the rest of the week saying they were disapointed it was closed but in my head I was thinking,
. We Just checked out Inoventions for a while and took the monorail to the Poly for Dinner at Ohana. After a great dinner, and what we plan to be our first night tradition from now on we headed over to MK.
The walk up Main Street, ahhhh
We did Stitch, which I liked alot, not as scary as Alien Encounter but I think Stitch fits in better for Disney. The smell was gross by the way but not as bad as I thought. We then did COP... "There's a great big beautiful tomorrow, shining at the end of every day."
We were tired and headed back to our room, our luggage was waiting for us from ME. We were off to sleep to rest for our next day at MGM.
More comming soon.....
