Our honeymoon and all the zebra butts you could ask for!!!

Hmm, that Boma breakfast sounds good. I may have to make it a point to get there in Sept :) (though, I'm already going for dinner one night ;)).

Why is when you're trying to get to a park there are three or four buses that come and go for the other parks, but not yours. But then of course when you're to one of those parks you'll see numerous buses for the other park you had done the day before.
It all started with a man named Murphy... He's an awful awful man.

Great photos in there :) (and in the other places, but I don't comment much :p)

yes that's right we went all the way to WDW to eat McDonald's
BUT, it wasn't just ANY McDonald's! It was a Disney McDonald's! And, it's going away, so... um, just think that it'll be the last time you eat at that particular one ;).

To make up for it we went to Ghiradelli's for ice cream. I think I spent the next two days on a sugar high from it, but wow was it gone. :-)
And yup, I'm sure that would quite make up for it.

Now, before I go further, I have to be honest. I don't like DTD. Granted, I haven't been there since about 1992(ish), and at that time I was... um... 13? It just doesn't hold much interest for me. I'm not a big shopper, and.. well, other than Cirque and some restaurants, that's all that's there.

Ok, continuing on...
That's excellent about the AKL pool. It's one of those things that Disney does to make everyone feel included.

I'm not really big fan either during the day, but night time at DTD is different, I really enjoy it then. Although I am looking forward to try the Characters in Flight balloon this Oct. when we're there.

Sounds like another great day! Sorry about the biscuit :). Not sure I would have been too thrilled either. Love those pics!! I am loving seeing and hearing about AKL and Boma! Looking forward to reading about your day at DHS! Now, I better stop reading everyone else's TRs and get to my own. :goodvibes

You guys are getting a lot done! I love the pic of you guys with the Walt/Mickey statue in the background. And the pic of you with bunny ears behind hubby's head is just priceless!

Thanks....I love those as well. :-) Especially that goofy bunny ear one....the CM told us to act silly so we did! haha

Day 5

So here we are halfway through the trip already.......wow it's gone fast but as much as we've done it was good we had these next four days to slow down the pace a bit and relax. This is a vacation afterall and our honeymoon done the less.

So anyway, we opted to go back to HS this day since it's hubby's favorite. I personally think it was just so he could go back to the Star Wars store and get more pins......by this point he's become a bit obssessed! lol WE grabbed a quick breakfast at our hotel down at the Mara, which by the way has a really good brekfast even for quick service. I LOVE getting two drinks for breakfast so I can have milk or juice with my meal then grab a bottle of water to take with us to the parks. This is was off to the buses and HS, we didn't get there nearly as early as planned so things were already a bit busy so we headed straight to Toy Story Mania since we didn't get to do it on Day 2. Unfortunately there was a 120 minute wait (WOW) and by 10:30 in the morning they were already out of FP's. Strike two! Next we headed to Star Tours which my DH had never riden before so he was really excited. I think we then spent almost an hour in the store AGAIN. LOL Are you seeing a pattern develop here? We wandered around for a bit after that taking pics and just seeing the sites

zz9.jpg

We decided to walk through "One Man's Dream" If you've never taken the time to go through there you really should, it's quite interesting. Unfortunately we got through half the exhibit when we realized it was almost time for our ADR at Sci-Fi Dine-In so we left and quickly headed that way. Upon checking in our car was ready for us and we were seated immediately. This is another place I highly recommend to anyway who hasn't tried. The atmosphere is fantastic!! Remember that pattern I mentioned earlier.....my hubby the sci-fi junkie.......can you guess why I picked this restaurant? :-) Now I realize at lunch time especially they just have typical park food for the most part and I had a burger and fries, but I must say that had to be one of the best hamburgers I have ever had! Wish I had tried to take a few pics here, but it was so dark I doubt they would have turned out anyway.

So after lunch we decide to finish up One Man's Dream. Just as we got there they were starting the film that goes along with it so we hurried straight to it, again really fascinating. Only problem is when it's over they have you leave out the other side so to get back to the half of the exhibit we hadn't seen we'd have had to walk all the way around the building again, but it was almost time for the Indiana Jones show...we'll get through there completely eventually I swear. DH said the Indiana Jones show was good, but I sadly didn't see much of it. I hot and sweating and it caused sunscreen to run down into my eyes which made my contacts burning so I spent the entire time of the show trying ot keep my eyes from burning out of my head.......the show sounded good though since all I could do was hear it and not see. :-)

Next up was RnR for me, which took WAY longer than expected since they had to shut it down for about twenty minutes since someone apparently couldn't hold there lunch. So pleasant I know. While I was doing that DH was watching the Jedi Training Academy....said the kids were really cute fight Vador and learning to use their lightsabers. :-) Afterwards we met up and saw the Beauty and the Beast show....fantastic!!

By this point we were in need of a rest...had been going all day at high speed. We went and FINALLY finished the One Man's Dream exhibit then just walked around a bit. Back in the New York area of the park it was deserted, not a sole in site. In fact I have a pic of us standing in the middle of the street and there is no one at all around, unfortunately not one I have online to share with you or I would. We used this time to sit on a bench, relax, and called home just to check in with the real world and see how things were. It's amazing when you're at Disney you forget the rest of the world is still out there going on.

Eventually it was time to head toward Fantasmic. I had really been looking forward to this show and it did not disappoint at all. It was amazing!!! On the way their a CM stopped us and offered to take a Photopass picture in front of ToT. I'm going to show it to you, but I MUST preface this with saying he INSISTED that we act like we were scared and crazy. We were laughing too hard to act the part and in fact he made us try it over three times to be more believable. This is really REALLY bad and embarassing....just warning you!

zz13.jpg

See what I mean? LOL We have have Goofy acting goofy along with us.

As I said Fantasmic was great and when it was over we still had an hour before closing so we tried one last time for Toy Story. We got there and we couldn't believe it, only a 15 minute wait....what luck!! Then we found out why.....there was a mechanical problem and they had closed it down for a bit. Those few people in front of us making it only 15 minutes turned out to be the only few people who had stuck around and not left when they closed it. We decided to hope for the best, but after five minutes a CM came out and told us it would be shut down for the rest of the night and not be reopening. Strike three!!!! At least it gives me something to look forward to trying next time. Speaking of that I am returning in Oct. of this year and my 5 year old cousin is absolutely dying ot ride this ride. He wants to do it 10 times in a row!! Please pray with me for low crowds, a working ride, and/or a FP so he can at least do it once. He's crazy over Toy Story and would be heartbroken if he missed it. At least there's Buzz at MK to ride as well.

Finally it was back to AKL for an early night and rest. Up next is Day 5 with AK and Epcot...

Aw, bummer about Toy Story Mania. I'm so sorry you didn't get to ride it. I hope this is not out of line, more of a curious question, though: I thought that handicap park goers got to go to the front of the line. Is that not so? I know it would have helped you guys out a lot if it were.

Funny picture in front of ToT! I think it is adorable!

You're not out of line at all, feel free to ask anything you wish. As for going to the front of the line it depends where you are. At MK we almost always got to go to the front of the line which I must admit was quite fun. The reason they do it though isn't just to take them to the front of the line, it's because most of the rides at MK are older and the queues aren't large enough for wheelchairs. Usually they would let us go through a side enterance and take us up near the loading area simply because his chair couldn't fit through all the twists and turns the line goes through, or in some cases like Pirates there are stairs within the waiting queue. The newer rides built in the past 10 years or so they started making the line queues wider so that wheelchair could go through them, which makes things fair to everyone and persons in wheelchairs don't get to just go straight to the front. It makes sense and is fair, but I did enjoy going to the front with him. :-) TSMM is so new that the lines are plenty wide enough so we get to wait just like everyone else.

I feel for you with TSM. We only got to ride it once and that was with a FP b/c we don't do waits more then 30 mins typically. But like you said, you can do it next trip!

Thanks for the info! That totally makes sense! Oh, boy - you mentioned Pirates. pirate: I am seriously having withdrawals!!!

I'm sorry I haven't updated in a while, it's been a crazy busy week. My husband and I had our birthdays last week (which are the same day believe it or not) plus my best friend finally had her baby on Thursday as well so I spent a lot of my weekend with her and the cutest new baby ever!! I've finally found some time though to continue, thank you to everyone for your patience.

Day 6

We started with a quick breakfast at the Mara at our hotel and then off to Animal Kingdom.

2009_0328Diney_0421.jpg

Yes, I like taking pictures of my breakfast. LOL the Mickey waffles are just too cute!

We had slept in a bit and didn't get there right at opening, but oh well. Now I know everyone says do the Safari early to see the most animals in the cooler weather, which is what we did last time, but we really wanted to do it again and it was already nearing 11 and VERY hot and humid. By the time we got through the line it was going on noon and we thought we might have wasted our time, but would you believe we saw a LOT more animals this time than the first? Everyone says middle of the day heat is the worst, but for us it was the best. There were tons of animals and even a group of giraffes sitting just a few feet from the jeep, felt like you could almost touch them, SO cool!!

2009_0327Diney_0245.jpg

After the Safari we walked around for a bit and took some pictures and then decided to see Finding Nemo the Musical to get some ari conditioning. Wow, that show was fantastic!! I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it, such talent those performers have.

Afterwords we headed toward Camp Minnie/Mickey which seemed surprisingly empty. One of the CM's told us that while the Festival of the Lion King show is going on it overlaps a bit with when the characters are out and that's the BEST time to see them because as soon as that show lets out tons of kids swarm them, but while it's going on almost no one is there.....a good tip for us all to remember!! We got several great pics.

Minnie is SUCH a little flirt!! LOL

zz3.jpg

She just found out we were newlyweds. :-) Is it just me or is DH checking out her butt? J/K

zz11.jpg

Upon leaving the character area one of the CM's stopped to congratulate us and said he had seen us a few days previously and taken our picture for us...sweet that he remembered us. As I mentioned previously my DH got really into the pic trading, but I hadn't, however, the CM said he had a surprise if I could answer a trivia question. He asked me who was responsible for spreading the magic over at the Magic Kingdom. DH had no idea, but I instantly knew it was Tinkerbell. Yay me!! :-) He opened his hand and gave me a beautiful Tinkerbell pin covered in glitter which if anyone knows me you'd know I am crazy over anything with sparkle and gitter. Gotta love the fun pixie dust moments that happen at WDW!! :-D

Ok, so now here's where it gets a bit interesting...
We had finished with most of the characters and were now in line for Mickey. We got to looking at him closer while in line and realized there was something a little strange. Now I realize that it isn't always males inside the male characters and females playing the females....especially with Mickey and other shorter characters, it has to be difficult to always find guys that short to play those characters. I believe I read somewhere that to be Mickey you must be between 5 ft. and 5"4. I'm okay with that, however, this Mickey had a VERY large chest and hips as well. We were trying tso hard not to laugh in case there were kids around to overhear, but I'm sorry, but there's just something strange about Mickey Mouse having breasts. LOL

zz31.jpg

You tell me a man that has legs that thin, hips that flared, and chest that prominant. Hahaha The chest isn't nearly as visible in the pic as it was in person.

So then we passed by Brother Bear and neither DH or I knew who he was and he had a bit of a line so we decided to pass. A little while later we stopped for a restroom break. I was standing outside waiting for DH to come out when I saw Brother Bear and his handler going on a break. They walked right past me and the gate they were needing to go through was blocked by a guy at a water fountain. The man seemed oblivious and ust kept drinking. Brother Bear kept acting like he was annoyed; tapping his foot, pretending to check his watch, etc. etc. The man finished his water and walked off the other direction and never even noticed this huge furry bear behind him. I got a good chuckle out of it and went back to waiting. But wait, it's not over yet.....So there I am leaning against a pole and ever so often I glace back over my shoulder to make sure I don't miss my DH. About the third time I glaced back I found myself staring face to face with two huge eyes!!! Brother Bear was literally hanging over my shoulder 1 in. from my face. I screamed so loud it was crazy. The bear just started "silently" laughing like crazy, kissed me on the nose, then waltzed off on his merry way. By this point my DH had come out and saw the whole thing and was laughing his head off. A little while later we were walking around the park and saw him again, he immediately recognized me and came running up to me and of course by then we had to get a picture with him. By husband and I still laugh about that.

2009_0328Diney_0408.jpg

Sorry the pic is so fuzzy

WOW, I just noticed the time....I'm going to have to say goodnight for now and will update tomorrow with the rest of our AK day followed by our Epcot night. Goodnight everyone!!

I know I promised to update more today, but I think it'll have to be tomorrow. Thanks to those you keep reading though. :-)

:rotfl: :lmao:

You had me laughing so hard at your "feminine" Mickey! That is SO funny! I don't know that I would have noticed it if you hadn't said anything, but yes, Mickey was definitely a woman! And if you look at the way he/she is standing, that is a woman's pose. A Mickey with breasts :rotfl:

And then Brother Bear! What a great experience! I probably would have screamed, too, if he had snuck up on me like that. What a great story/memory you have of that day. And I love the extra bit of :wizard: you got from the CM who gave you the Tink pin.

:goodvibes I just  Disney!

A female Mickey.....isn't it just too funny? :-) We were trying so hard not to laugh and make a big deal of it in case there were kids nearby. It didn't appear there were, but you never know the last thing I'd want to do is spoil the magic for someone, but later on our own we got a BIG laugh out of it. You could also definitely tell it when "he" hugged us and I had my arm around "him" for the picture.....100% woman!

Glad you're still following along, thanks!! :-D

Now I'm gonna be on the lookout for female Mickeys when I go back to Disney. Of course, I won't say anything to my son, but you'll definitely be in the back of my mind during character greets.

Well of COURSE I'm still here! I've enjoyed your TR very much and wouldn't miss it!

So last we left off we had our female Mickey encounter and Brother Bear scared the daylights outta me....turning out to be quite the exciting day!

We next headed over to festival of the Lion King, which I now understand why everyone says it's a MUST do, it was fantastic!!! In a lot of the 3-D shows and even at Finding Nemo the accessible seating is way in the back, at the Lion King however it's right up front and when I say up front I mean if I had straightened my leg I would have tripped one of the performers. WOW it was amazing. For those wondering I didn't trip anyone though. :goodvibes

My apologies by the way for not having any pictures with this segment, for some reason after the charactes we just didn't take anymore that day. I'll have to impress you with my awesome story-telling skills instead. LOL :rotfl: Ok maybe not, how about I'll take tons on our Oct. trip to make up for it though, promise!!

As I mentioned in a previous post it was VERY hot and humid that day, the first actually "hot" day of the week and anyone who's been to AK knows that all the trees are nice for shade, but they can create a bit of a jungle effect so we decided to get some ice-cream and sit down to people watch a bit. For those of you who have been with me through this entire TR let's think back to 3 days prior when I said DON'T hold onto the ice cream wrappers in your hand for long periods of time. Show of hands.....how many people think I listened to my own advice this time? Anyone? Anyone at all?? Those of you who said no would be right. About ten minutes later when I got up to throw the wrapper away I came back and DH is staring again and says "ummhoney....your cheek is blue again" To which I look down and realize my hands are solid blue again....great! So into the bathroom to scrub and scrub and scrub some more. Fingers crossed this won't happen on our next trip, you'd think I'd learn eventually.

By now it was late afternoon and we had to get to Epcot for our dinner ADR at Rose and Crown. More to come soon when you learn about the little mishap we had there....

Hey, must have been posting just as I was! I'm going to do the same, I'll never look at the charcters the same way, I'll always wonder. I know Goofy, Tigger, and Woody are probably always guys since they are so tall and skinny and I assume Minnie, Daisy, Lilo, etc. are female....maybe I'm wrong though, but those mid-height characters....hmmm...makes me wonder. lol
