Our happy place & Dream Bday trip 3/29-4/9/11 UPDATE PG 44 - Final Day !!

First up...Canada!

went to watch O Canada..something we had never seen before and enjoyed seeing Canada!

walked around Canada and took a few photos

just missed seeing them sing, but got a quick photo...

next up - United Kingdom - did a bit of window shopping through the shops and checked out the topiaries

next we crossed the "pond" into France!

and Megan's favorite princess

it was starting to get really warm out, so we decided to take a little break in the shade and before looking around somemore in France!
went to the Boulangeire Patisserie for some yummy breakfast items for the next morning, did some more window shopping before we had out ADR at Chefs De France!
luckily we had this ADR, right after we checked in a huge thunderstorm blew in, the rain and trees were blowing sideways, everyone ran for cover, so happy we were inside and dry waiting to see.....

Remy!!!

when I asked Remy's friend if I could take a photo, this is what he did

but he let me take this one too...

Megan was so surprised when Remy came around...I didn't tell her just in case Remy was on "vacation"!

we then ordered

we both got the French onion soup....soooo good!

I got the tenderlion, very tender and yummy!

Megan got the mac & cheese....she said it was even better than the one from CRT

and of course we finished up with Creme Brule....OMG so rich and creamy...

loved everything about the restaurant and look forward to going again!

so since we were pretty stuffed, decided to just finish walking around the world....the rain had stopped....walked slowly though Morocco, Japan, US, and Italy, then stopped in Germany at the caramel shop....spent a few of our snack credits on my favorite candy! such a happy girl!!!
when we got out it was pouring again, so we took off as quick as we could (didn't have any rain stuff) and headed out to the bus.....had to wait about 30 minutes, we were so wet and cold, so not a fun way to finish our night...
but when we got back to our room, found this waiting for us

our one and only towel animal sitting with the birthday Minnie that pOOh4me (gail) sent Megan!

so we got ready for bed, snuggled up for a bit and got to sleep a bit early that night!

next day was DHS, Brown Derby Fantasmic dinner or was it????

Today we woke up to rain, wind, thunderstorm and tornado warnings!!

we had our yummy treats for breakfast in our room from France....apple tarts ! decided well, let give it a try....got to the bus, nope, way to much rain and wind, so headed back to our room....so I decided to get a couple loads of laundry done....had lunch at the food court....Megan has pizza and I had a burger....did some shopping and headed back for a nap!

tried again later that afternoon, we had ADR's at Brown Derby at 435 with our Fantasmic package, but was still to much rain....so we stayed in, sorry we had to miss Brown Derby and Fantasmic, but we received some pixie dust on Sunday for Fantasmic thanks to some friends!

headed back down to the food court for dinner, but don't remember what we had .... headed to bed early....tomorrow was Megan's surprise #2 at AK!...but it started with a little bit of drama at check in........

Sorry about all the rain you had on your DHS day. Fantasmic is our second favorite (after Wishes) and we have not been able to go the last two years because it hasn't been on while we were there.

March 31st was a bad weather day for us. Strong wind or a possible tornado tore down part of our fence and made our pool sweeper go airborn and broke it.

Wow...one weekend off and there is so much to catch up on Yahoo! LOVE the BBB makeover and your Birthday Princess. What a great day...she will always remember turning 11 that's for sure! All the pictures of the two of you are awesome! I bet it was really bitter sweet returning to Disneyworld without Jim lots of great memories but also missing him so much. I am glad you and Megan got to have this amazing trip and I love the ways you make sure to make Jim a part of your trip...really special! Looks like you have had so much fun so far and I can't wait to read more!

it doesn't take long to get behind here on the DIS, doing BBB was a different experience than it was 3 years ago, I think its more fun when they are all dressed up....but Megan has a blast so that's all that matters to me!
it was hard a few times with our old memories, but we knew it would happen even there!

Oh yeah, I remember that rainy day. We were talking about you on Judy's thread that day hoping you were safe and inside or was it on here. I can't remember but we were worried.

yes it was photopass, we really had good photos from all the ones they took!

well, you will have to wait....I'm volunteering at Megan's school for the rest of the week, so that cut's into my DIS time, plus need to get a few other things done too, like groceries, cleaning, etc.

You??? Relaxed???? REALLY???? I seem to remember there was some laundry going on ....that is DEFINITELY not relaxing at hotels...and you called me...and it took several times since I wasn't home at first....okay, MAYBE you were relaxed compared to driving to and from the beach and the most jam packed birthday...I can see how that was definitely a down day ... compared to others....
