Yeah - we just kept quoting "Apollo 13" at the airport. "Well guys, I guess that was our glitch for this mission" and hoped it turn out the way the movei did

great start! wow....11:30? even i go to sleep earlier than that in disney world! i'm sure she was running on adrenaline. hope the next day wasn't too terrible as far as her being tired. can't wait to read about it!

We did have a good first day. I was worried that our cab issues were a sign of a bad travel day - thankfully that didin't happen!

Great travel day. Glad the cab issue didn't mess you up too bad. It must be nice to live close to the airport. We have a two hour drive to the nearest airport.

It's a small airport so sometimes the airfare is a bit steep, but it's worth it being so close.

I left a message before we left that we were leaving and they didn't have to come. And we didn't see any cab on the way out to the airport - so I don't think they came. I never heard from them either

11:30 is early to go to bed for us!!! I WISH I could have gone to bed at 11:30 some nights. I'm really not sure what we were running on by the end of it... Pixie Dust?

First Park Day 10/26/09

So after Maddie not falling asleep until 11:30pm and a fitful night of sleep, Stitch called at 6:00am – YAWNNNNNNN! I actually woke up before the call, so I was poised over the phone hoping to catch it quickly enough to not wake up Maddie. I was hoping to let her sleep a bit longer, while Doug and I got ready. No such luck, the phone rang and Maddie sprang up and says “Is it Mickey?” (She remembered the wake-up calls from the last trip.) So we got ready and were to the Magic Kingdom bus stop at 7:10. There were only a few people ahead of us, so we made the next bus which came about 7:20. We got to Magic Kingdom about 7:40. They weren’t letting people in yet, so we lined up and Maddie watched the CM make balloon animals and got one of her own just as we were let in. So now the time had come that I had worked so hard to get – a chance at nice pictures of the castle with no people! Well we the no people we had covered – there was only one problem…………

FOG!

So the pictures didn’t turn out as nice as I was hoping, but still nice crowd levels. Most of our mornings were foggy on this trip – must have been due to the humidity. We still took our time admiring the castle and getting photopass pictures taken (haven't gotten the CD yet).

So then it was time to move on to breakfast at:

We checked in at our ADR time (8:05) and were called in almost immediately. We were seated just off to the left of the entrance along with windows by the check in line. Almost right after we got seated, look who showed up:

Then right after Tigger was:

Then we had some time to get food:

The eggs were really good! We had a really friendly and attentive waitress as well! So it was a great experience.

After eating awhile, Eeyore came by:

The parade came after that, we ate some more (we like buffets!) and then it was the big moment. Those who read my pre-trip report might remember that my SIL’s favorite character is Winnie the Pooh and her only goal on the trip was to get a hug from him. So that was another reason I had worked so hard to get this ADR – what a better way to start the trip! So finally the moment had arrived:

So after Pooh’s visit we were done with our breakfast - time: 9:10 – perfect!

The fog actually looks pretty cool - but I definitely understand your annoyance, clear skies are much nicer.

I love, love, love that shot of Maddie and Tigger where it looks like he's flying at the camera! Too funny!
