But is it just me who feels uncomfortable that OP wants to take over 2 sections of 3 seats wanting to leave 2 odd empty seats. OP if the flight is that full I'd be mindful of others and see if you can sit 3 and 1 with either spouse right across if possible as to allow a pair to at least sit together in the other 2 seats in the section. I am certain you'd appreciate it if others did that for your family if when you get on all you see is singles with families split up like you want to not allowing for at least pairs to be together.

Hmmm not sure how this is any different than us being two seperate familys...single parent and child. Why should one person in my family have to sit alone to accomodate for other passengers. We are not sitting like that to make it harder for others to have seats together..we are sitting like that so that each of us has one child to take care of.

If it's 3 and one in the aisle directly across it's not really sitting apart from everybody.. let's hope your seating isn't a later letter and everybody traveling as a group of 4 sits as you chose; would suck to walk onto a flight full of only single seats-- just saying if the flight is full to have some courtesy for other families if you notice options are getting limited.

I don't see anything wrong with sitting 2 and 2. That's what we do. A grandmother sat w/ DD11 and me and a dad sat w/ DH and DD8. If people get on later and need to sit together they can ask.

There are also fliers who are flying alone. They can take those single seats and will probably be thrilled they don't have to sit in a middle seat.

Our 12 noon return flight (May 12) on Southwest is also sold out as well as the 2 flights following. Does anyone know if they bump people? If so, what the compensation for bumping might be?

We did buy EBCI for our return flight way back when I bought the tixs but it's just DH & myself so not a big concern where we sit. It's just the next flight out isn't until 7 pm if they bump.

1 person got bumped on our flight down. They were offering $300 and a seat on the next flight that had one. That flight might have been the next day!

On the way home 4 people didn't have boarding passes. I didn't hear what $ amount they were offering but the people would have to fly to Ft Lauderdale and take a flight home the next afternoon! This was the last flight from MCO to Bradley (Hartford) on Easter Sunday.

That's why we try to fly early for at least by noon just in case something like that happens. We actually are not on a tight return schedule this trip as DH and I are off work the next day too. I was just wondering how they did that. I've never flown with so many sold out flights. We usually do Tues or Wed flights. Thanks.

My son and I will sit together, and my two nieces will sit together. That;s why I shelled out for EBCI. Why should we split ourselves up to accomodate someone else?

My issue wasn't the splitting up. The OP wants SIX seats, although she paid for FOUR. She specifically said (more than once) that she was hoping to sit so that no one else sat in their rows.

We often sit aisle/aisle, since we both like aisles seats. I don't fly SW, but I don't base my seat selection on other people (though I also don't try to get more seats than I have paid for).
