At this late hour, can someone recommend the quickest, easiest route MCO-AKL...(we'll be renting a car from either Budget or Dollar)?

Also are there any supermarkets on the way that are open 24/7? (DD is diabetic and we'd like to get squared away for breakfast the next morning as well as picking up "supplies" for the week.)

Thanks,
Karen:wave2:

There are two choices for 24 hours groceries, Goodings and Wal-Mart. wal-Mart is REALLY out of your way, Goodings isn't, but it's yucky IMHO.

What I'd do is pack some breakfast bars and juice boxes with you--I'd want to have them on the plane with you in your carryon anyhow, just in case.

Take the Greenway (417) south from the airport to exit 3 onto West Osceola Parkway, follow that into WDW, and follow the signs, it pretty much ends at the AKL.

Anne,
Thanks for your reply...I know neither of these choices is terribly desirable at 1:30 am or whatever time we actually get out of MCO but unfortunately, juice boxes are not an option for my DD who's diabetic. I was going to pack as much as I could (trail mix, peanut butter, crackers) but I was really hoping to get some milk and bananas to get us started. I'm sure Mara will sell them and I'll just have to send DH down there first thing in the morning to pick up a few for the first day if we want to skip the late night grocery run!

How about Parmalat?

The Mara is open at 6:00am, so I agree, have your husband grab milk in the am. Also, wait to make sure you have a fridge before buying perishables!

When I made our room ressie. I requested a fridge for medical purposes as DD needs to keep insulin refrigerated so even if they didn't have one in the room at check-in, I would hope they'd get one to us quickly!

But we can certainly wait until Mara opens!

Thanks again!
