Well, I actually went when I was 7 or 8. I'm 48 now. I know it was prior to Epcot being built since I was there. So yeah, this is the 'first trip' for me -- and its most definitely the very first trip for my beautiful wife (41) and our two children (boy 7 1/2, girl 5 1/2).

We are doing this trip 'last minute' - we recently booked at POR for August 9-14, 2015 (6 days 5 nights)with the mid level Disney Dining Plan and no Park Hopper. That's right, two months away we decided to do this. I've done as much planning as my DISnoob brain will allow, and would love ppl's input on our initial thoughts.

Why so soon? Why not delay and plan 2-5 years out like everyone else? To make a long story short, we found out 13 weeks ago that we are expecting our third child - quite UNexpectedly.

After an initial period of shock/disbelief/denial, we have accepted this wonderful blessing and couldn't be happier to welcome her (we found that part our last week!) to our family. The due date is October 19, 2015. Our kids of course are THRILLED.

Disney World has been a dream and goal of my lovely wife for years and she wants to take our children before the baby is born and we are faced with a couple of years of babyworld again. So how could I refuse a woman with a goal and a dream? Much less a pregnant one with her eyes on the prize. :magnify: I am somewhat worried about her being two months further along in the heat of August, but we are planning to stay hydrated, use FroggToggs, come back to the resort middays and good walking shoes for her. Any input there is welcome too. She is undaunted.

Congrats on your upcoming new arrival!! Bless your wife's heart for being willing to go while expecting. You guys will have a wonderful time!!
I've added some thoughts to your plan in the quoted area below, my comments are in purple.

You seem aware of what it takes to plan a trip of this scale and that is GREAT!!
On your last day, you could do Epcot again, or just follow the lead of your kids. If you can't get day of FPs for the headliners, utilize rope drop and make whatever FPs are convenient for where you are in the park at the time.

Good luck, don't stress, know your limits, and have an AMAZING vacation!!

Day 1:
Arrive & check in at POR
>>> HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS late afternoon

Dining:
QS ABC Commissary? Use snacks? We don't usually do QS at Hollywood Studios, but I think the general consensus on the boards is that ABC isn't good, Backlot Express is better. Someone will correct me if I have that backwards

Arrival:
Toy Story Mania - cant get FP+ yet

FP+:
Star Tours - thinking son will like
Frozen Sing-Along - I have a Frozen-crazy daughter
Fantasmic - we want a good seat for our first show

Day 2:
EPCOT
Dining:
Hotel rm breakfast
QS around World Showcase (Sunshine Seasons?) The bakery in France opens before the rest of WS and is amazing. You can use QS or snack credits there. Sunshine Seasons is good too, but it is in the Land pavilion, not by the World Showcase
TS San Angel Inn ADR

Arrival:
Rope Drop
Soarin' - hoping to hit this ASAP

FP+:
Turtle Talk w/ Crush
The Seas with Nemo - we love aquariums, but is this worth a FP+? It *should* be walk on or a very short wait, especially since you'll already be in the area from rope dropping Soarin'
Test Track - Son will love

You are very welcome! I didn't want to bombard you with too many of my own opinions when you need to learn your family's touring style, but I like to help if I can. You will learn a lot this visit to prepare you for the (most likely) inevitable return trip when your children are older.

See my notes below... Just for some background, my family will be at Poly Aug 16-23. This will be the fifth trip for my daughters (who will be 13) and the first for my 2.75 year old son.

Also, I went to Disney when I was pregnant with my twins, way back in 2002 when I was a youngin' and full of energy. I was only 3 months along, but found my very tired and still battling morning sickness. I didn't not go on ANY rides with a pregnancy warning. BUT, it's better to be tired and sick and pregnant at Disney than anywhere else!

Day 1:
Arrive & check in at POR We stayed at POFQ in 2013 and love these resorts. I would definitely go back there!

>>> HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS late afternoon

Dining:
QS ABC Commissary? Use snacks? Like PP said, we don't eat QS here. We always eat at SciFi!

Arrival:
Toy Story Mania - cant get FP+ yet

FP+:
Star Tours - thinking son will like
Frozen Sing-Along - I have a Frozen-crazy daughter
Fantasmic - we want a good seat for our first show

Day 1 sounds great!

Day 2:
EPCOT
Dining:
Hotel rm breakfast
QS around World Showcase (Sunshine Seasons?)
TS San Angel Inn ADR

Arrival:
Rope Drop
Soarin' - hoping to hit this ASAP

FP+:
Turtle Talk w/ Crush
The Seas with Nemo - we love aquariums, but is this worth a FP+? Probably don't need this. I used our third one for the Character Spot.
Test Track - Son will love

RESORT/POOL TIME MIDDAY You may not even make it to World Showcase today... don't underestimate the size of Epcot. Sunshine Seasons is my favorite QS and will be conveniently located in the Land. Don't miss the Living in the Land boat ride, another favorite in my family.

Day 3:
MAGIC KINGDOM
Dining:
Hotel Rm breakfast
mono to CR - TS Chef Mickey's ADR
QS Harbour House/Cosmic Rays - thoughts? I would go where the lines are the shortest and whatever you're close to at the time you're hungry.
Arrival:
Rope drop
Pirates? Jungle Cruise? No pirates :( We're missing it, too.
FP+:
Big Thunder Mtn - I hope they're ready
Peter Pan's Flight - worth it? YES!
Enchanted Tales with Belle - daughter event

RESORT/POOL TIME MIDDAY

Night off/flex DTD? Also, the resort offers outdoor movies every night (weather permitting).

Day 4:
MAGIC KINGDOM
Dining:
Hotel Rm breakfast
TS Cinderella's Table ADR So fun!
QS Capt Cook's (mono to Poly) or Pinocchios? We stay at Poly, and I don't think it's worth a mono ride just to eat at the QS, unless you have a burning desire to check out the resort.
Arrival:
Possible "sleep in"?
Space Mtn./Haunted Mansion
FP+:
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
Splash Mtn
Meet with Anna & Elsa - thrilled to have gotten it at a decent time lucky, lucky, lucky

RESORT/POOL TIME MIDDAY

Electrical Parade
Wishes

Day 5:
ANIMAL KINGDOM
Dining:
Hotel rm breakfast
QS Flame Tree BBQ? Yak & Yeti? AK has great QS. Did I hear that Flame Tree is closed? You might want to double check... but Y&Y is yummy, too.
TS Hoop Dee Doo Review ADR My girls were 6 when we did this and had a great time. Great food, too.
Arrival:
"sleep in"?
FP+:
Expedition Everest
Kali River Rapids
Kiliminjaro Safaris - they will love this You should also see the Nemo and Lion King shows, but they might be hard to squeeze in unless you want to spend a full day there. If your kids like dinosaurs and small coasters, the Primeval Whirl is fun (for kids, not adults :).

RESORT/POOL TIME MIDDAY

Flex/Rest night

Day 6:
???????
We have left this day "blank" and will decide which park to hit for a half day based on our preferences - I could go ahead and FP+ something though - thoughts? Maybe World Showcase? Kids can check out the Kidcot spots and get passports stamped. FP+ Soarin?

Dining:
TS Whispering Canyon ADR
