Welcome! Thank you for reading my TR. We did have an interesting time that's for sure, but we have great stories for our children.

How was your first couple days of bartending school?

Glad your table mates were nice and not mad at you guys. So on a cruise do you each with the same people every night in different restaurants ? Also does the same serving team follow the group ?

For whatever reason I thought all that was served on a cruise were buffets. Possibly with food that sits out all day waiting for people to come eat it. That was not appealing to me. Your pictures were very appealing to me. What did you table mates think when they saw you taking pictures of your food ?

Our table mates were great and lotsa fun to be around. I have never been on any other cruise except disney but for them you do eat with the same group of people every night in a different restaurant, and your serving team does follow you to each place as well. And there are buffets also that you can choose to eat at if you don't want to dine in the restaurants. The only time DH and I visited the buffets was for breakfast and once for lunch and the food was always fresh and very, very tasty.

Our table mates looked at us kinda weird the first time we took some pics of the food but then we told them we wanted a memory of how yummy it was and so some of them thought it was a good idea and started doing it too. DH and I are trendsetters apparently.

I had some similar questions about the meals on a cruise. Is all the seating assigned in groups like that? What if you just wanted to sit at a table for two and have a private meal? Is that possible? I'm not sure I would like sharing all my meals each night with strangers. I'm not antisocial...as a matter of fact I'm always striking up conversations out in public with people I don't know. But on a vacation, I think I would prefer to just eat with my own family. Just curious. Glad you enjoyed your night! And thanks for the update.

You are forced to eat with a group if your party is a small group (like two or three people, maybe even four sometimes). I have read on these boards that sometimes it is possible to request a table to yourselves but it is very hard and it usually will not be granted especially if you go on the cruise during the busy time of year. If you have a large family group though the chances of getting a table to yourselves is much better. There is also Palo on board which is a nice restaurant, very romantic if it's for you and DH and you get to eat alone but that restaurant you have to make reservations and there is also a nominal fee to dine there. I think it was $15 per person when DH and I went.

If it makes you feel better I was not happy to find out we had to share our table either when we first booked the cruise, especially since it was our honeymoon, I wanted to have nice romantic dinners with my hubby. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be, of course we could have just been fortunate to have been placed with great people but seriously I don't think you would have a bad time and you get used to it right away. Our group of people spent most of the time talking to there significant other then anything else. I would say try it because at least with the Disney Cruise you are all there for one reason, (YOU LOVE DISNEY) so right there you have commen ground.

I've enjoyed it...lots to remember but a lot of the drinks are pretty easy to remember. So far I can't complain.

After the cruise we are heading back to Orlando, but we are staying offsite. We will be finishing up the Disney Parks and going to Islands Of Adventure. Good Lord, I still have alot of writing to do.

Sorry about your DBF, you should tell him that DH and I were not happy about it either but seriously it's no big deal. Most of the time everybody ignored everyone else and when we did talk to each other it was like everyone had always been friends. I think it has something to do with being on the Disney Cruise, everybody is sharing that same love of Disney so it's easier to mingle with people. I think it would be worse on the other cruise lines.

I've enjoyed it...lots to remember but a lot of the drinks are pretty easy to remember. So far I can't complain.

Alright guys, I'm so sorry I have not updated lately. I was pretty busy the last few days and I also had like 80 email messages from TR I have subscribed to that I had to catch up on.

Anyway in between doing laundry and cleaning the house I'm going to be working on installment today.

Okay so I left off with hubby and I finishing up dinner and heading up to the Pirates in the Caribbean party. It was pretty crowded when we arrived so we decided to go up to Deck 10 and watch the festivities from there. On our way we ran into the guy from the beach at Castaway Cay, the one that had asked what happened to my foot. He was really sweet and wanted to know how I was doing and if my foot was okay. (which by the way was doing better, not swollen anymore or throbbing and it was just slightly uncomfortable) Anyway we chit chatted for a minute and then headed on our way. Hubby and I managed to secure a good spot on the railing right in front of the Jumbo TV screen and stage. Pretty soon our spot was getting very, very crowded.

Now I don't have alot of pictures from the party because hubby started taking video instead. I tried to upload the video to photobucket but it said they are to long and so I couldn't. Sorry, I really wanted to share them with you guys.

Anyway I will show you what I do have.......

Then when the show started everything that was happening on the stage was also on the TV for you to see.

So the party goes on and everybody is dancing to some really good music. The characters are great and also dancing, I had no idea they could move so well in those costumes. They would also rotate characters in the crowd and have them dancing out there with people as well.

I was having a blast and dancing and singing along with them. I was so wishing that I was on the lower deck though because almost everybody around us was just standing there lifeless and I wanted to be around the "FUN" people.

Anyway about halfway through the "BAD" pirates make an appearance. This comes over the Jumbo Tron....

The good pirates and the bad pirates argue over who's party it is and more dancing goes on. Stitch comes out and dances to "I'm Blue" it was great and very fitting. Then Captain Hook and Smee come out and Smee dances to MC Hammers Can't Touch This. It was absolutely hysterical and I highly recommend if you get a chance to look it up on You Tube and watch it.

So the battle goes on for a bit and then you hear Mickeys voice from high above you and when you look up he is on the smoke stack attached to a zip line. He makes a comment about it being his party or something like that, I can't remember and then he zips over to the top of the Jumbo Tron and tells everybody he promised us a party and now here is the party in the sky and then the fireworks start.

OMG is it an awesome sight to see fireworks off a cruise ship. Only Disney I tell ya, only Disney. Again I only have it on video but man was it gorgeous and I had tears in my eyes when it was over. Some people say it's no big deal but for me I thought that was the most magical part of the whole cruise.

After I get myself together we head towards the dessert buffet. Before arriving though I had to stop and have my picture taken with Clayton. Clayton is the cruise activities director. When we first got on the ship and saw the Golden Mickey's show Clayton made an appearence before the show to introduce himself to us. He is great and so much fun. Clayton also has a dance, his happy dance. Now if any of you have every seen Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air back in the day you will recognize the dance from Carlton on the show. Anyway when I spotted Clayton and wanted a picture with him I told him we had to do the happy dance for the photo. This was the outcome.

Then it was back to the dessert buffet. I have never seen such a long line for food. It was seriously like waiting in line for a ride at the parks. Not only did they have dessert but also these huge turkey legs and some other foods. DH was having issues trying to decided what he wanted but in the end he decided to get in the dessert line with me. While standing in line we struck up a conversation with a girl behind us. Turned out she works on the Wonder and was on vacation with her family. How nice is that to want to take your vacation at your place of employment. Anyway she ended up telling us all about what it's like to work on the ship, she works in the entertainment department and really likes it but misses her family alot. We found out that she lives really close to us in California, such a small world. Anyway after spending about 30 minutes in line we got to the good stuff.

So we piled on the desserts, all different types of cakes and some jello, little pastries. It was nuts, soooooo much food. I tried at least a bite off everything on my plate and was soooo stuffed. Hubby got this picture of me when I think the sugar high had taken effect.

After we ate we debated on staying up on deck to watch the pirates in the caribbean movie but after looking for a decent seat we realized all of them were taken. Instead we went up to deck 10 and took a nice romantic and extremely windy stroll before heading back to our stateroom.

Upon returning to our stateroom I found this guy.

Yay towel monkey. I was so excited to see him I didn't notice this guy right away.

Yay towel lobster. Two towel animals in one night.

Have I mentioned how much I seriously loved our stateroom host. I'm such a dork arn't I?

Anyway we changed into more loose fitting clothing and started getting all our stuff together to be repacked. Tomorrow would be our last day on board and our sea day and we didn't want to have to rush to get it all together then. It turned out to be a good thing we started on this night because it was like playing tetris trying to fit everything in the suitcases. I kept thinking about all the other stuff sitting in the trunk of the rental car back in port and also how we still had four more days in the parks before leaving. DH and I both came to the conclusion at the same time we would have to find a post office upon returning to Orlando to ship some stuff home. Boy did I get some looks from hubby upon this realization.

"WHAT" I yell at him. It's not all me shopping, you got stuff too.

He proceeds to just shake his head and tell me he loves me.

Off to bed we go and the next morning I was really going to sleep in since we didn't have to do anything at all except enjoy the sea day. Of course it's not like I have not been sleeping in the whole trip so far right cause getting up at 8 or 9am is so unbelieveabley early.

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to say how sorry I am that I have not been updating my TR. It really seems as though every time I get ready to do it something happens. DH usually works on the weekends but for some reason he had this Sunday off and Monday he was home also so I didn't have anytime with him around.


Aside from that I just wanted to share what had to be the coolest, most awesome thing that could ever happen to me. Now I don't know how many of you on the boards are even a fan of his or know who he is for that matter but...............












I got to spend the entire day at Universal Studios and have dinner with "SLASH" from Guns & Roses and Velvet Revolver!!!!!!!!!!!!



Let me explain how this happened. Member I said in the beginning of this TR how hubby works special events and stuff for Universal. Well Slash and his family had gone to the park last October and they requested a rep walk them around and the park had sent my hubby to do it. On that day Slash really liked my DH and appreciated how well he toured the park with them. At the end of the day I guess Slash had asked for hubby's phone number in case they came back to the park so that hubby could be his escort again.

Fast forward to this last Sunday morning. DH gets a call on his cell and it's a 818 area code which is usually Universal so he does not answer it because it's his day off. Person leaves a message, hubby checks and starts laughing and shaking his head, I of course am like what do they need from you now. He puts it on speaker phone and the first words I hear are.....

"Hey Alfonso, it's Slash"



WHAT THE @#$%&!!!!!!!!!!!

I seriously almost peed my pants.

Anyway the rest of the message goes on to say he and some friends are going to park, wanted to know if hubby was working and could escort them around and to call him back and let him know.

WHAT THE @#$%&!!!!!!!!



I was floored, I could not believe my ears and even more so.......NOW HUBBY HAS SLASH'S PHONE NUMBER......OMG!!!!

So the next few minutes are combined with hubby calling Slash OMG and also calling his boss to see if they could put AJ on the buget to come into work for this reason only. Well it goes back and forth, back and forth and Universal won't buget for AJ to come in and work and so he calls Slash back to tell him and...............................................................................




Slash is sooooooo sad that hubby can't be there that he offers to PAY hubby to come in on his own time and escort them around.

I AM NOW HAVING A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN IN THE CORNER OF THE ROOM LISTENING TO ALL OF THIS........

My husband and a freakin rock and roll legend are having a conversation on the phone like they have been friends for the past 10 years or something.

So they talk for a while and hubby finally agrees to come up there and "Hang Out" with them so that he can get them front of the line to everything and his discounts.

And the last thing said is "Okay man, I will call you when we get there"


WE!!!!!!!!! WHAT WE!!!!! COULD THAT MEAN ME AND YOU???????????


AND THEN I THINK... MAN? DID YOU JUST SAY OKAY MAN TO SLASH?




Sure enough hubby tells Slash that I'm dying to meet him and would he mind if I come along. Slash's response I guess was not a problem.


Dear God and the heavens above I'm going to meet Slash and I'm going to hang out with him.



After I regain some kind of composer hubby tells me to hurry up and get ready cause we have less then an hour to meet him. I take the quickest shower ever in my life and within 20min I'm good to go.

I freak out all the way to Universal and I'm blasting the Velvet Revolver CD and dancing in my seat like a loon. Thank God we live in CA so nobody noticed me.

A few times Slash called hubby on the way to Universal because we got stuck in some traffic and they were trying to coordinate it so nobody was left waiting for long. And of course everytime he called it was "Hey Man, Okay Man, Sure Man" Whatever but it was just the weirdest thing to listen too.


When I got inside the gates and got my first look at him I almost died. It was amazing having him standing right there in front of me. Hubby introduced us and he took my hand to shake it and I could feel all the callouses (sp) from his guitar playing. AWESOME! I know I'm a dork.


Anyway I won't give you the whole rundown on the entire day but we had a great time, he had a great time, his kids and his friends had a great time. Slash opened up to us and told us family stories and joked around with us. He is the greatest guy ever and he is soooooo nice and he is a great dad, his kids totally adore him.

At the end of the night he wanted us to come out to dinner with them and was going to be mad if we didn't go.

Dinner was fantastic, we went to eat at SaddleRanch and during dinner a Guns and Roses song came on and I couldn't help but laugh.

HELLO......OMG I'm sitting here having a normal dinner with SLASH.

After dinner he signed my Velvet Revolver CD insert and left the sweetest, coolest message ever, and he also signed the picture of us all on Jurassic Park. So Freakin Cool! I didn't ask him for a picture of us together, after spending the day with him I didn't want to come across as pushy and be "That type of fan"

So we said our goodbyes and when I got about 50 feet away I finally screamed and giggled and went crazy cause I had been keeping it in all day.

It was totally cool, he is seriously a great guy, he made AJ and I feel like we were part of his family. Now I can only hope I get to see him again some time.

Yeah I guess you could try the lottery but I think after a while of buying tickets you could have just paid for the cruise.

Oh, I love food too and since being on a cruise feels like your at a 24hr grocery store without having to pay I was chowing down all the time.

My mouth is watering and my stomach is rumbling after seeing the display of desserts. What a treat. I love the picture of the dance as well as your "sugar high".

The desserts are sooooo good, it was probably the highlight of the entire cruise for me. When I was posting the pics, I was getting hungry also and so wanted to be back on the ship.

It was the experience of a life time and I feel very fortunate to have been able to do it. Slash is totally awesome and such a nice guy. He really made hubby and I feel like part of his family.

I did not bother him during the day to take a picture with me personally because I just didn't want to be that type of annoying fan but I was able to get the ride photos from Jurassic Park and the Mummy. He signed the one from JP. I can go ahead and post them for you.
