Our first trip and our honeymoon at Disney World, what could go wrong?

That restaurant looks super cool. What a neat concept. I really haven't researched the crusies. Mostly because I'm afraid I'll want to book one.

Funny you slept through the rough seas! It was probably just as well that you didn't have a port hole at that point.

Yayy for the update! Sorry for my panic the other night. Hope things are slowing down for you at home. Time to relive your trip is a must!

You know all I could think of when you were talking about walking to dinner was how fun it would have been to be drunk and trying to walk. I would probably fall overboard in a fit of laughter though. Or puke, neither is a great scenario.

Anyway, the restuarant looks way cool. Sorry your tablemate was feeling so ill I don't blame you for being worried about her throwing up though. I am sensitive to seeing, hearing or smelling vomit. Which is not too cool when I have three young kids. My poor DH cleans alot of vomit that I cannot handle.

Glad you guys did get everything packed up in time. How did hubby do with the increasingly worse rocking ? I probably would have slept like a baby, I have a great story of accidently drifting verrrrrrrry far from the shore because I fell asleep on a raft once.

As usual loved the pics! Sorry it was your last day though.

that restaurant looks awesome, as far as the rocking though i am not so sure. my dad has a small sailboat which we like to go on, but dd2 is the queen of motion sickness. ugh. you think you can outgrow motion sickness?;) lol

I just found your trip report today and I am enjoying it! I love your wedding! It looks so fun! And you seem to really be enjoying your honeymoon, despite all the 'set backs' you seem to encounter!

Your towel animals are wonderful! During our honeymoon at AKL we were so surprised and delighted to get a bunch of towel animals as well, I also took a group shot and love it to this day. I almost wanted to bring them all home!

Your pictures from dinner are so cool, I love seeing the room change color. You have honestly made me want to book a cruise! My DH just signed up for the 2010 half marathon in WDW, "sadly" I do not run ;) , but I am thrilled about the trip!!!

I have to start planning now!

What am I going to do once your TR is over? What shall I read, who will make me laugh???

I was sad because when we stayed at POFQ we didn't get any towel animals at all. At least the cruise made up for it.

That dinner was the best, such a cool environment to eat in. Disney was very creative to think of doing that. :thumbsup2

How cool that your hubby is going to do the half marathon, I wish I could participate in something like that but my asthma would probably kill me. I'm happy for you that you are going back, we are also planning our next trip in Oct. / Nov. 2010. Yay for all of us! :cool1:

You will have to wait awhile for our next adventures at Walt Disney World TR but I have faith that you and I will find many TR's to keep us laughing and busy in the meantime. :goodvibes

Loved the update. Sorry to hear about the rockin. I'd always had people tell me that "You can't feel a thing" on a cruise ship, but wondered what rough seas would actually be like. At least you were able to sleep through the worst of it. The food looked amazing as usual.

Thanks!

The ship rocking back and forth was pretty fun as far as I was concerned, but like I said that's because I'm weird like that. I think it depends on how sensitive you are in terms of feeling the slightest bit of rockin going on and that's why some people say you can't feel anything but it's not true they just arn't as sensitive to it.

The restuarent was very cool and I was pleased with my decision to change our Palo reservation so that I didn't miss Animators Palate.

I know how hard it is to research possible trips and not book them, of course when you start getting the prices for the cruise that should be enough to deter you from booking. :rotfl2:

I was very thankful for not having a port hole that night, not so much because of me but I think that would have done hubby in.

No worries on the panic, I wait so long in between updates that I don't blame you. :rolleyes1 Things are kinda slowing down at home, we are currently getting ready for a trip to Las Vegas soon but that's about it for now.

It is a sight to see when non drunk people are stumbling all over the place much less if they had been drunk. Your two scenarios are hysterical and it's something that would probably happen to me as well. I don't know what DH is going to do when we have kids because of my horrible gag reflex. He will have his work cut out for him that's for sure.

Hubby was surprisingly okay with the insane rocking and rolling, I guess he has a stronger stomach then he thought he did.

I'm intrigued about your drifting far from the shore story on a raft. I had a visual of this in my mind when I read it and I must say I was smiling. Do tell, do tell.

One could hope that your DD will outgrow the motion sickness. I will think happy thoughts for you. :goodvibes Can she take any of the medicine out there for it at that age? I think the sea bands that my hubby used come in childrens sizes as well, that might help her.

:welcome: and thank you for the nice compliments.

We did have a fantastic honeymoon despite the set backs but like I keep telling everyone we have lots of memories and good stories to tell forever.

Well twist my arm.

It was much funnier in person of course. So me and a girlfriend were hanging out at the beach and someone brought this big raft I think it was shaped like a baseball mitt or something. So we hoped on that. We lived near the beach and it was the bay which is much calmer than the ocean. So we got on the raft and fell asleep. When we woke up we could not see land anymore. (Well ok we could see it but it was far away) so we panic. One of our oh so kind friends came out on his SeeDoo and drug us back in. We were so damn sunburned I had to stay in bed for a week. The kicker was and it took me years to get over this, all our friends were on the beach laughing as they watched us float away. Not one of those no good fools cared enough to wake us or come get us before we went too far. My brother was one of those fools. They were in tears they were laughing at us so hard. Part of the problem was we went in during high tide and when low tide came we got drug out with the water. I seriously thought we were going to die being the drama queen that I am. I imagined every movie in the world where people got lost at sea. I am sure any one of them will tell you we were not that far out but we were past the pier an the rocks that extending quite a ways past that. We might have been able to swim back if not for 2nd degree sun burn we had.

So that is my story, all typed out it does not sound as funny. Good times I tell ya. I miss that town every day of my life! (Ok not everyday but I have some good memories growing up in a beach town) I can imagine if there were any helicopters flying by how funny we looked. Two lobsters on a baseball mitt. The pilot would probably question his own sanity.

Me and my friend recovered from our sun poisoning and mortal embarrassment at needing to be rescued. No cute baywatch looking guy came and got us either. We spent a week laid up too sore to even apply aloe on our selves so we had to hear our mothers reaming us out for a week.

Been reading along for a while now-figured it was time I stopped lurking. Love your report so far-especially all the pictures. Can't wait for you to add some more.

Actually I think your story is very funny and I did LOL. I had a complete visual of you and your friend floating out to sea while your friends and brother just watched and laughed at you. My friends and my brothers are the same kind of people and have laughed at me plenty of times during situations where they should have been helping. It sucks that you ended up getting such a bad sunburn because of it though. I really know how that feels since I had second degree burns on half of my body after falling asleep by the pool in Vegas one summer. Of course everybody I was with just let me sleep and didn't bother waking me up. Needless to say I had sun poisoning and when my burns finally healed I peeled for almost 5 months. It was horrible, so I feel your pain. That must have been really cool growing up in a beach town, I would have loved it since I'm a water baby.

Thanks for sharing your story with me I really did enjoy it. :goodvibes

Hello  and welcome! I'm so glad you came out of lurkdom.

Glad you like the TR so far and that you are enjoying the pics. I'm working on an update right now with plenty more pictures so stick with me. :goodvibes

I finally caught up the TR. Fantastic!!

First of all, congratulation on your wedding. I had shoot a few wedding photography in my life time. I hated it. Always a lot of pressure and afraid I will ruin their moment if the pictures isn't up to the standard. Thankfully, I have no complain so far. Then again, I never charge those people a dime.

One thing I found a lot of common in all these TR. No matter how bad the situation was, people seems to end up laughing about it but only if Disney is involve. I wonder why?? Hmmm???

I am not a cruise person but I might give it a try some time in the future. I really want to get close to the Flying Dutchman. I am willing to do the parasailing just to get some bird eyes view pictures of the Flying Dutchman. However, I am so not a beach person. I grew up on a small island that was beach everywhere. I had enough of sand and sea water.

How many pictures did you took? I shot over 3,500 pictures on my 7 days Feb trip. So far, I have processed close to 500 pictures. I think 7 to 800 should be the max I can use.

Keep up the good work on your TR.

Okay so it was the last morning of the cruise and hubby and I agreed to set the alarm for 5am to make sure we got up and got ready in enough time to make our 7:15am breakfast time at Animators Palate. It was so hard getting up when that alarm went off, not really because of the hour (though that was a horrible time to be getting up) but mostly because we new it would be the last time. If I hadn't mentioned before the beds on the ship are uber comfy and I was sleeping great so I was really sad to be leaving.

So after we sleep walk ourselves through showers and getting ready we do our once over of the room to make sure we have everything and then bid farewell to it. Upon walking outside we ran into our stateroom host whom I was equally sad to be leaving. I gave him his tip envelope and thanked him a billion times over for being the best and taking such great care of us. Then we made our way down the long hallway to the elevators and over to Animators.

The air onboard the ship was bittersweet, you could tell everyone was happy to have just done the cruise but at the same time everyone seemed so sad. I was one of the sad ones.

Only three out of the six couples who made up our tablemates showed up to breakfast, the one couple like I said probably ran off the ship because she didn't want to be there and the other two I don't know what happened to them because they had said they would see us in the morning.

Now this would be the first time during the cruise that I was very disapointed in the food and the service for that matter. Everyone was so rushed and hovering over us to take our order. I know it's because they have to take care of everyone and also get ready for the next cruise but sheesh give us a minute would ya. When we figured out what we wanted and ordered, which was pretty simple food our server came back to tell hubby and I they didn't have things we wanted anymore. That was a real bummer. Needless to say what we did end up eating was bad. I had scrambled eggs that just tasted nasty and hubby and I both had pancakes that were hard and overcooked. The bacon was undercooked and even the coffee tasted like yesterday's news. It was really disapointing but we both just chalked it up to being so early in the morning and the crew being under pressure to feed everybody at different times and also get ready for the next cruise. We ended up not eating very much of the food and more or less just talking to the other tablemates about what everybody had planned after the cruise, and everyone was heading back to Orlando to enjoy Walt Disney World. We said our goodbyes and headed towards the exit, it was at this point I wanted to cry.

I snapped this pic of the christmas tree and decorations that had been put up at some point on the cruise.

http://

Then I took this just before we stepped off the ship for the last time.

http://

Bye Bye Disney Wonder, we had a fantastic time....

http://

So we get down to the luggage area and retrieve our bags with no problems at all and then get through security and customs and before we know it, we are back in the real world. The porters kept asking us if we needed help getting to our car but we could manage just fine and off we went.

Now this next "incident" that happened may very well make me look like the biggest B$%@H in the world but I don't really care, I'm gonna tell you what happened anyway.

As hubby and I are approaching the rental car I notice there is a lady leaning on the side of it. Now first let me say I don't lean on strangers cars no matter what, I just don't do it, it's disrepectful and there is always a 50/50 chance some kind of freak accident could happen and the person leaning on the car could cause some kind of damage, unintentionaly of course but could still happen none the less. So with that said as we approach the car I notice the lady see's us coming and when we stop at the car she can clearly tell it's ours. She makes no move to get off so I tell her "Could you please not lean on the car". She say's "Oh, sorry I have a bad knee" and then removes herself from the drivers side door area. That I figured was the end of it, but I was very wrong. So hubby and I are putting the luggage in the trunk and I'm thinking to myself if she has a bad knee why the heck isn't she sitting in her families car or leaning on there car for that matter. Then out of the blue another family member say's to my husband "Isn't that a rental car anyway?" Hubby responds by saying "Yes it is but I still have to take care of it and pay for it so having somebody use it as a cushion is kinda bothersome." Needless to say this lady would not let it go and started telling us how rude we are and how mean we are. While all this was going on between her and hubby I was still organizing the trunk of the car and really biting my lip not to get involved because it would have been very undisney like with what I had to say and since they had kids in the van I didn't want to go at with them. Finally they all piled into the van and left and we did also right after them. She proceeded to flip us off just before we lost sight of them on the road. Lovely huh? All because I asked her to get off the car.

And with that interaction behind us we headed off towards Orlando. The ride back was uneventful and pretty boring. Since hubby and I had already been up since 5am and pretty sleepy we just kinda drove in silence, each of us in our own little world.

We got back to the Orlando area a little after 10am and started to look for our next hotel to check in. It was the Best Western Lakeside. We found it pretty easy and proceded to wait about 10min at the checkin counter before anybody even noticed us. Already I was wondering about this place.

I finally said something to one of the gentlemen behind the counter that wasn't doing anything in particular if he could help us and rather reluctantly he did. He was so rude and barely said two words to us the whole time and never once did he make eye contact with either of us. At this point I was only hoping the day would get better.

So we get our room key and head off to unload our stuff, we soon realized that this guy had given us a room all the way at the back of the hotel, like the very last building. O'well whatever.

All I can say about this place was it's a good thing that DH and I are not picky people about hotels and resorts and stuff because this place was BLAH, JUST PLAIN BLAH. I figured that since it was only serving the purpose of sleeping and bathing who the heck cares anyway, I have better things to spend my money on then a five star resort even on my honeymoon. But of course that's just my opionion on the matter. Hubby doen't care either way, he can sleep anywhere, I think it's just a guy thing.

Anyway we unload all our stuff and settle in for the next four days and then we sit down and try to decide what to do for the rest of the day. I had finally been feeling better then ever since the honeymoon started and really wanted to make the most of our last few days so I suggested going back to the Magic Kingdom. Hubby was onboard even though we both really should have taken a nap instead. That would never have worked though because we were to excited to be back in the world.

So on that note off we went towards the Magic Kingdom.

Coming up next.......Zombies are walking around the Magic Kingdom.

With friends like ours who needs enemies lol.

YEAH SERIOUSLY! :rotfl2:

Very happy you like my TR! :goodvibes Saying it's fantastic is quit the compliment.

It was a shame about our photographer for the wedding because when we met with him we really liked him and then on the day of the wedding he did a complete 180 and was just a turd. He never asked me if I wanted anything done with any of the photos after he took them so that's why I adjusted some to my own standards and they seriously looked better when I was done compared to what he did. Go figure.

I think it's that Disney Magic that makes people laugh off most incidents that happen when you are there. Something about that place just makes you smile and forget the bad times, at least for us it's that way.

I wish I could try parasailing but I have a fear of heights and don't think I would be able to handle it, but the view on Castaway Cay is probably amazing.

I believe we took over 3,000 photos on our trip as well but I'm not completly sure. We have not even began to develop any for our scrapbook yet, I really need to get to that in the near future.

So it was a really short drive from the hotel back to the Walt Disney World area, maybe about 10min if that and pretty soon we saw this lovely arch again.

http://

It was really like driving under it for the first time again, we got all giddy and happy.

We parked the car and I made the executive decision to leave the bride and groom ears behind this time because hubby and I were to tired to fuss with them today.

While on the tram I snapped this picture.

http://

I know we took the monorail to the main gate this time but we don't have any pictures from that because we used those few moments to take a power nap.

Finally making it inside the park hubby and I stood there staring at each other like well what do we do now. We really didn't have a game plan and since we had been up since 5am we were just clueless. Let the zombie walking begin.

The only thing we new for sure that we wanted to do was get fastpasses for space mountain. In the meantime we took some pictures as we just stood around.

http://

http://

As we got ready to leave the area I spotted Chip & Dale so we got in line for pictures with them.

http://

As we made our way down Main St. we stopped for some more photopass pictures but this was the only one I really liked.

http://

We headed towards our only real destination, Space Mountain and just kept snapping photos on the way.

http://

http://

http://

http://

We got our fastpasses and were surprised to see that we didn't have that long to wait, maybe like an 1 1/2hrs. We decided to stay fairly close to the area and just continue on our wandering.

http://

I decided to head us towards Toontown in the hopes that the line for the judges tent would not be that long and we could get a picture with Mickey. I was also able to get a daytime picture of the sign.

http://

Hubby and I both had to use the restroom when we got into toontown and it was while both of us were doing our business we realized that the world around us was still moving like as if we were still on the ship. I thought I was crazy when I had been in the bathroom stall and I all of a sudden stumbled because I swore it was moving back and forth. I emerged the bathroom with the weirdest look on my face because some lady nearby asked me if I was okay. I sat on a bench waiting for DH and when I did I started to focus more on the ground and sure enough I could swear that it was moving. When I saw hubby coming towards me he had a weird expression on his face as well and I new right away the same thing must have happened to him. He sat down and before I said anything he asked me if it felt like the ground was moving at all. I know there is a name for this condition and it happens to people sometimes after they get off a cruise ship but I can't remember what it's called. I don't know why it didn't happen right away but when it did kick in it was the most bizare feeling ever. We both started laughing because now we looked like tired drunk zombies walking around.

Great update and photos...sorry about Grumpy McNasty getting fresh with the car. That was a bit much. Glad you get spend more days in The World though cause that measn more Trip Report. YEAH!!!!! I was cracking up at you guys getting getting your drunk on in the MK. That had to be a hoot.

Great trip report! I also have the 'condition' where the ground keeps moving after I get off a cruise ship. I almost think it's because we adjust 'too well' to sea legs and then don't lose them when we get off the ship! In my case, this feeling lasts nearly a week after a cruise. I tried cruising only twice because of it. The first cruise was seven days and I thought the same condition wasn't likely to happen if the cruise was shorter but even on a 4 day cruise, I ended up with that odd feeling. In fact, I dislike the feeling so much I am loathe to try cruising again!

Great update! :thumbsup2

Sorry to hear about the unpleasant "incident" at the parking lot.

I know exactly what you meant about the "moving" feeling when you stand on solid ground. That happen to me whenever I sit in a car for extend period of time. I travel to NC at least twice a year. It's a 10 hrs minimum of driving. I always have a "floating" feeling the very next day. :rotfl:

Hope you still manage to have a good time at MK.

I've been on two Disney Cruises (and one RC) and I never got that feeling too bad.

I get a feeling similar when I roller skate and I like it. As someone who has never drank alcohol or did a drug, it makes me feel like I'm on drugs (if that made any sense at all) :)

I am sad to get to the end here and find out the ending is not done! Stop everything and finish!

And to Top Dog: Sir, you are not done with your TR either! Your fans are waiting Mister ! :)

Ha! Ha! I just need a little break William. I update 3 times this week and that's a record for me.
