Our first time at the Fort - UPDATE days now complete

Putting this report together it seems that during shows or rides I never seem to get pictures. I am either pointing this or that out to the kids or I am holding one or the other or both so they can get a better view.

As for the characters, we are doing it while the kids still have interest. In a few years it will be a totally different ball game. They grow up so fast!!
Ain't that the truth! We still force our older DD's into some pictures. they go along with it...and deep down I think they still like it!

Great TR!

We then continued our journey and passed this person. (No clue what she is officially called)

20100419_1161.jpg
That is DiVine. There is one here in Nashville at the Opryland Hotel too. Creeps the hell out of me.

Day Six - Tuesday
Off to Epcot
I ran for Soarin FP’s while DH took the kids to the bathroom.
Met back up with DH and decided to go ahead and do Spaceship Earth while there was no line.
It was almost time for Character Spot to open so DH took the kids there while I went to get FP’s for Test Track. I had to wait about 10 minutes before the FP was available. Grabbed them and met up with DH and the kids as they were exiting the character line.
They were able to meet Mickey
20100420_1341.jpg

Pluto again
20100420_1342.jpg

Minnie again
20100420_1343.jpg

Donald again
20100420_1344.jpg

And Goofy
20100420_1346.jpg

We then went to do The Seas with Nemo and Friends. 5 min wait what a difference from last year.
Upon exiting got a picture of the kids and Bruce and the other sharks. All I need to say about that experience is that some kids and their parents do not have manners.
20100420_1181.jpg

20100420_1182.jpg

20100420_1183.jpg

We then caught the next showing for Turtle Talk with Crush. Funny as always!
Then looked around the aquarium area and was able to find a hidden Mickey

20100420_1184.jpg

We did not do Journey into Imagination with Figment on our last visit so we decided to give it a try. I think I can still smell the skunk spray in my hair.
The kids then played in the ImageWorks for a while.
After taking a look at the times that the characters would be appearing in the world showcase area, we decided to start our journey around the world at Mexico instead of Canada.
We made our way to the other side through the Butterfly Garden. The kids loved the butterflies.

20100420_1189.jpg

20100420_1190.jpg

Once we exited, DD got even more excited , Tiana’s Wedding Bayou

20100420_1191.jpg

20100420_1192.jpg

Since we were already on this side, we decided to go ahead and use our FP’s for Test Track so that we would not have to cross back over later in the day. This was the first time for all of us.
The kids loved it.
We grabbed another set of FPs as we exited.
We then started our way around the World so the kids could get their passports stamped and filled out.
First stop Mexico

20100420_1193.jpg

On to Norway

20100420_1196.jpg

We did not encounter any characters in the Mexico or Norway areas. While in Norway, we decided to give Maelstrom a try since it was only a 15 minute wait. We totally skipped the movie at the end. Enough said on that.
Made our way into China, did not see any characters there either.
Had a feeling this was not going to be a good day.
Next country was Germany. Guess what, no character there either. While DH and the kids were watching the trains I went back to the shop next to Snow White’s greeting spot. The CM there said that she just went in and would not be out for at least another hour. Met back up with DH and continued our journey.

20100420_1198.jpg

On to Italy
20100420_1199.jpg

Traveled through the American Adventure and Japan.

Upon entering Morocco we saw Aladdin and Jasmine, but no Genie. We skipped them since we already met them earlier.
Here is some hats that the gang tried out.

20100420_1200.jpg

Strolling into France, we got to where Beauty and the Beast was doing meet and greet but the line was already shut down. CM advised that Beast only would be out in about 10 minutes. The kids played in the play area while I waited in line.
After about 15 minutes out strolls the Beast. We were the 2nd in line and Beast actually signed his own autograph card that we had.

20100420_1202.jpg

We then headed into France, skipped Aurora since we met her previously and got in line for Marie. Marie gave DH a kiss as we were leaving.

20100420_1203.jpg

Next stop was United Kingdom.
We found Alice first

20100420_1205.jpg

and then Mary Poppins. I told DH to ask her to say Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious backwards which she proceeded to do so to his amazement.

20100420_1206.jpg

We then got to the phone booths. DH and I were calling the kids and pretending to be Mickey and Minnie. Once our kids exited DH continued with the game with the next person.
20100420_1209.jpg

20100420_1207.jpg

I finally got him out of there and on to Canada our last stop.

20100420_1210.jpg

We then headed to Soarin to use our FP’s. One word AWESOME!!!! We sat in the 2nd row and the feet hanging down did take some of the effect away, but it was great!!
We then headed over to use our 2nd FP for Test Track.
Once done with that we headed out of Epcot and made the journey over to DHS.
It was a little over an hour before the 1st showing of Fantasmic.
Our plan was to catch the 2nd showing but since we were there DH went ahead to see if any seats were left instead of waiting.
Last year we were in standing room only, will not do that again. He found seats so the kids and I made our way in.
Once seated, I went back out and grabbed 4 kids meals (2 mac and cheese and 2 chicken nuggets) and made my way back in through the crowd.
About 5 minutes till showtime, they made an announcement that due to weather in the area, Fantasmic would be delayed. People started booing and getting up to leave. Another announcement was made a short time later that Fantasmic would begin in 15 mins.
Excellent show!
We then exited the park along with the majority of the crowd and went back to the MH.
About 1030 it was pouring rain, so glad we did not wait till the 2nd showing.

While DH and the kids were watching the trains I went back to the shop next to Snow White’s greeting spot. The CM there said that she just went in and would not be out for at least another hour.
I feel your pain. :rotfl2:

Day Seven – Wednesday
Off to MK
MK was not to open until 9, but we thought we would try to be there early enough one day of our trip to possibly be picked for family of the day. Since no other park was having morning EMH, we picked today to do it. Plan was to be there about an hour and 15 mins early.
DH went out to put the snack stuff in the stroller and discovered that we had a visitor.
20100421_1347.jpg

20100421_1348.jpg

Arrived at MK via the resort monorail since the regular monorail was not operating yet. There were quite a few people already there. And no we were not picked as family of the day. Oh well, we tried.
Once the park opened, DH headed to Dumbo with the kids while I went to get FP’s for BTMR. I made it to Dumbo just in time to see them riding.

20100421_1216.jpg

We then got in line to meet the Stepmother and Stepsisters. They are always in character and a joy to meet.

20100421_1217.jpg

Next we went over to Frontier land and rode BTMR standby.
Upon exit we grabbed another set of FP’s.
We then took the raft over to Tom Sawyer’s Island. DS said it was the Island of Sodor from Thomas the train when he saw the windmill.

20100423_1266.jpg

After venturing around for a bit we took the raft back.
Grabbed FP’s for Splash Mountain and then got in standby.
Upon exiting DH and DD jumped right back in the standby line and rode again.

20100421_1218.jpg

We then started our trek out of MK stopping by Buzz to grab FPs to use later in the day.
And we were also able to do a meet and greet with Snow White. DH told her that he was her favorite because she liked to run around with short men.

20100421_1219.jpg

We then headed over to DHS to catch a few shows that we missed previously.
DH headed to TSM to see if FP’s were done for the day which they were.
I headed down towards Beauty and the Beast and grabbed an available table at the counter service place across from it to eat lunch. Pizza, ff, and cokes.
We quickly ate the pizza and headed in to get seats for the show taking the kids plates along to finish before the show started.
DD loved the bright pink dresses. DS was covering his eyes during the fight scene between Gaston and the Beast.

20100421_1220.jpg

20100421_1222.jpg

We then went to check out the wait time for TSM. Standby was showing 60 minutes. The kids wanted to ride and DH said let’s go at least it is inside and will be cooler. So in we went to do stand. Well our standby of 60 minutes turned out to be around 80 minutes.

After exiting we made a mad dash over to catch the next showing of Lights, Camera, Action. DS loved it!!

20100421_1225.jpg

Upon exiting that, we made another dash over to catch Indiana Jones.
The beginning was good, the rest kinda was just okay.
After the show we headed over to the animation building and was able to catch
Tweedledee and Tweedledum.

20100421_1227.jpg

We then made our departure from DHS and went back to the MH.
After dinner (Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes, and corn) and clean up we headed back over to MK to use our FP’s.
We were just getting there as was Wishes was ending. We had to fight our way up Main Street through the departing guests.
Finally made it to BTMR to use our FPs. All of us rode the first time. DS decided he did not want to ride again so DH and DD went ahead and used another FP and I handed the other 2 FPs to a couple that was walking towards the ride.
Splash Mountain was no wait so I pitched the FP’s that we had for that.
DS and I then high tailed it across the park to try to use the FP’s for Buzz before the park closed. We did not make it. I called DH and said that we were heading out and would meet by the security tables out front. I then made my way out before the Spectromagic parade began.
DH and DD got caught in the middle of it and could not exit until it was over.
Once they were able to exit, we started our journey back to the MH.
Both kids were out on Ferry.

Just picked up reading this thread this morning.... Tina, all I can say is... "girl, what don't you do?" :worship: You channel your "inner Martha" with all of that crafty stuff before the trip, you mow grass, and you actually drive the motorhome with a toad attached. I'm lucky just to get my wife just to settle down and relax enough to ride in the passenger seat.

I think you need to hold some sort of seminar for nervous RV wives... :rotfl:

You Rock!:cool1:

Thanks!
As for the characters, we are doing it while the kids still have interest. In a few years it will be a totally different ball game. They grow up so fast!!

Ain't that the truth! Just the other day my 7 year old was going through her character pictures with me and she whispered a confession to me, "Mommy, I think there's really a person inside Eeyore...". We're 100% clear that the princesses, fairies and Peter Pan and Wendy are indeed the real people though.:thumbsup2

Thank you!!

there are 2 things I will not do
bungee jump - rubber bands break under stress
and parachute by choice - unless the plane is going down this girl will remain inside

ps. alot of the wives around here don't like me and I cannot understand why :rotfl:

Thumper! Oh man, now I'm jealous. I had a Bambi mural painted on my wall when I was a kid - I practically grew up with Thumper. I love Thumper! I wanna meet the bunny!

I am jealous of the Papillon in your signature!

Day Eight - Thursday
Off to Epcot
DH took off to grab fast passes for Soarin while I followed behind to park the stroller. As the kids and I were just getting to the stairs to go down, I saw a teacher that oldest DS had in elementary school. We were both like, how cool! DH was just leaving the FP area when we arrived. We jumped into the standby line.
After our flight, DH took kids to The Seas with Nemo and Friends while I waited the few minutes to be able to get a 2nd fastpass for Soarin.
Nemo was walk on so DH and kids were just getting off when I arrived.
We then headed in to see Turtle Talk with Crush.
After that the kids had to see the manatees and dolphin again.
We then headed off to stroll around the world to use up some time until our next fastpass was available.
DH was hoping to be able to mess with a few more people at the phone booths.
Ds wanted to see his trains again so we stopped there for a while.
I was hoping Dopey would be out with Snow White but she was alone so we continued our walk.
Our time was up so we grabbed the Fastpasses for Test Track and started our trek back to MH. DH looked up and said they are writing something in the sky. We stood and waited until the E was finished.

20100422_1231.jpg

Lunch was spaghetti w/meatballs, Chicken parmesan patties for the kids, garlic bread and salad.
After cleaning up we took the kids to the playground area for a bit where we decided to head over to AK
Both kids fell asleep in the van on the way.
We plopped them, still sleeping, into the stroller and high tailed it across the parking lot and through the park.
We just made it to that showing of Finding Nemo The Musical.

20100422_1232.jpg

Upon exiting that we took a stroll around the Dinosaur statues.
DD found something on the ground and ask what it was, we told her she found Dinosaur poop.

20100422_1237.jpg

20100422_1239.jpg

20100422_1242.jpg

Since neither kid wanted to do Dinosaur, so I told DH to go ahead and do standby (10 min) while I took the kid to The Boneyard.

20100422_1243.jpg

20100422_1244.jpg

DH joined us there and we sat and watched the kids excavating their finds.

20100422_1245.jpg

We then headed over to catch the last showing of Festival of the Lion King.

We stopped on the way to look at the Flamingos, DD’s favorite.

20100422_1246.jpg

20100422_1247.jpg

We had time before the show was to begin, so we ate sandwiches from the cooler and some snacks while waiting in line.
We got 1st row seats just to the left of the reserved floor seats. DS was jumping up and down, clapping, and dancing the entire show. He wants the monkey job when he gets big!
Sorry about the blurry pics.

20100422_1250.jpg

20100422_1251.jpg

20100422_1252.jpg

20100422_1253.jpg

We then trekked back across the parking lot, jumped in the van, and headed back over to Epcot. As we were driving through the gate I saw the sign saying Future World closing at 7 and was like oh crap!
Got to the turnstile and the CM at gate said Soarin and Test Track remain open until park closing. WHEW!!!!
Decided to head over to use our FP’s at Test Track first.
We then headed over to Soarin.
While standing in line DS said gotta go. I said you need to hold it, we are almost there. Got up to the loading line, told the Cm we want row 1 was directed down to the next loading area. About a minute later DS looks up with the look and said gotta poop. Knowing that look, I scooped him up and ran the entire way on the empty lane side where you walk in. Just made it to the bathroom. We then both ran the entire way back in on that same side. DH and DD were still standing there are group had not been loaded yet.
Got off and right back in line to use our 2nd FP.
As you can tell we now have a new favorite ride.
Headed out of Epcot just as Illuminations started, we wanted to get to MK to see Wishes since it was the last night we would be able to do so due to Grad Night.
Got over to MK about 3 mins till Wishes.
Why it took us an hour using our own car still amazes me.
There was a backup at the security checkpoint.
Wishes already started by the time we entered.
DS fell asleep in the stroller
DD was awake and we watched what we could of wishes. Bad view, partially through a tree.
As people made their mad dash to the exit, DD wanted to get her Tiana doll. The main street store and a display window full of dolls but guess what? They were out of stock ?? DD was upset but no tears.
We then tried to make our way to Toontown to see what fairies where flying by tonight. Took forever to work our way through the crowd on Main Street that was heading out of the park. After finally arriving at Toontown, looked down to discover DD fell asleep during our travel time. Fairy wait was still 45 minutes and the people coming out said it was the same characters that we saw before. DH went ahead and bought a Mickey ear hat and had it personalized for a friend. I inquired about a Tiana doll, the CM checked the back and said they were out also.
DH and I made a dash for the exit and made it out just as Spectro was starting.
Got to the van, searched for the nearest Super Walmart on the GPS and purchased a Tiana doll for DD. It was not the same doll, we will see if it works for DD in the morning. Finally into bed around 1am.

Day Nine – Friday
DD found the doll sitting on her seat in the van. She was so excited. No mention of it not being the same one in the window. When she asked who gave it to her, both DH and I were we don’t know must be that Disney magic! Score one for us!!!!!!!
Headed back to Epcot to collect fastpasses to use during the evening EMH.
DH made the dash to grab the FP’s for Soarin while I parked the stroller. We met in standby to ride, same as the day before.
Upon exiting we headed over to Test Track to grab FP’s
Road Standby with a short wait.
Ride was slow and stopping constantly while doing the interior portion.
When getting off mention this to the CM and she left us re-ride immediately.
Headed out of Epcot to go to Magic Kingdom.
Made a stop at McD’s for lunch.
Upon entering MK, DS wanted to ride the train. We parked the stroller, jumped on the train.

20100423_1255.jpg

As we entered Frontierland, I said lets jump off and see about FP’s for BTMR. We exited the train, grabbed FP’s and got back on the train.
We were in the last row and the CM left our kids yell ALL ABOARD!! They were thrilled.
Took the train over to Toontown and jumped off again.
We did Mickey’s house first.

20100423_1256.jpg

Rode Goofy’s Barnstormer. DS always stands there and talks to the chickens. DD made the comment as we were pulling back in, Is that it!! BTMR has her spoiled.
20100423_1257.jpg

20100423_1258.jpg

We then went through Minnie’s house. Told DH that the next time we are here, the house may be at another location.

20100423_1260.jpg

Jumped back on the Railroad to go back to Main Street.
Grabbed the stroller and headed to Buzz to grab FP’s.
We then headed up to Fantasyland where we rode Snow White’s Scary Adventure standby. Going to get flamed for this, but the old lady reminds me of my mother. Big nose, no teeth and something about the eyes.

20100423_1261.jpg

Next we grabbed FP’s for Winnie the Pooh and since there was only a 10 minute wait, the kids and I did the Mad Tea Party.

20100423_1264.jpg

Made the trek back to Frontierland to use our BTMR FP’s.

20100423_1267.jpg

Back across the park we came to use our Winnie the Pooh FP’s.
We stopped at the Sword in the Stone to give it a try. No one could raise it.

20100423_1270.jpg

Use our FP’s for Pooh

20100423_1271.jpg

20100423_1274.jpg

Next we set off to Buzz . The standby line was short so we did that before using our FP’s.

20100423_1275.jpg

Made our way to the ferry

20100423_1276.jpg

The back to the van and then the motorhome.
Made dinner -steak, fried shrimp, baked potato, salad and the kids had sides of mac & cheese and applesauce.
Did up the dishes, took the kids for a walk around and then to the playground for a bit.

20100423_1283.jpg

20100423_1278.jpg

20100423_1279.jpg

20100423_1280.jpg

20100423_1281.jpg

20100423_1282.jpg

Then back to Epcot we went.
Stopped to take this picture on our way in.

20100423_1285.jpg

Once there we decided to get a spot for Illuminations and just sit and relax. We managed to get a spot directly in the center of Showcase Plaza.
We sat down and waited. Just as the show was to begin everyone in front started standing up. We then had to stand as well, so we switched places with the people that were behind us and put the kids on our shoulders so that they could see.

20100423_1298.jpg

After the show, we made our way to Test Track to use our FP’s we got earlier in the day.
We then headed over to Soarin for our last flight this trip.
We stopped to watch the fountains on the way and totally forgot to take a picture.
After riding Soarin, DS saw the boats from Living With The Land and just had to ride it. We were tired and that just about put us to sleep. I was squirming around on my seat by the end of it.
On the way out of the park as we were passing the fountain directly in front of Spaceship Earth, DD noticed a teenager standing on the top in the center to have her picture taken. DD kept saying that girl is going to be in big trouble she is doing a bad thing!! As we were exiting, I mentioned it to the CM opening the gate.

Day Ten - Saturday
Headed over to DHS for morning EMH.
DH did the mad dash for TSM FP’s.
I weaved my way through with the kids and stroller. Parked the stroller and headed for standby.
Was met by a CM advising that due to technical difficulties TSM was not running at this time. We decided to just stand there and wait since our only plan was to ride TSM and then head back to the Fort for checkout.
I questioned the CM’s about getting in line and waiting was advised they will not open the line until the ride is in operation.
At about 820/825, Steve, who was dressed differently and looked like a supervisor opened the line in front of us, closed it behind himself and then announced the ride is in operation. They then made everyone go to the other end to get in line, so there was a pushing and shoving match by the ones waiting there to get in line. I was mad!!! We were about the 10th group to get on.
When we exited it was showing 20 minute standby and since we could not use our FP’s until 910 we got back in line.
Upon exit, we hit the bathroom and then used our FP’s. Managed to do TSM 3 times in about an hour! Yippee!!!! The wait time was up to 50 mins.

20100424_1304.jpg

Our last look at the hat on our way out.

20100424_1305.jpg

Made it back to the MH a few minutes after 10am.
The people in the site beside us had already departed so we parked our van there. I headed in to do some last minute put aways and DH started the outside stuff. Hooked up the tow dolly and headed to the overflow parking lot to park the MH for the remainder of the day.
Off we went to MK.
Arrived at the parking lot, took our last walk to the ferry and it was packed.
Both kids fell asleep during the walk and ferry ride.
We headed to Frontierland. Grabbed FP’s for BTMR. Woke the kids and jumped in the standby lane for Splash Mountain which was a 25 minute wait.

20100423_1268.jpg

We then used our FP’s for BTMR.
We then made the journey over to Fantasyland hoping to be able to get FP’s for Peter Pan’s flight. FP time was for after 4pm, so we passed on them due to our plan to be out of MK before then.
While DH and the kids got in line for Snow White’s Scary Adventure, I went to park the stroller and grabbed FP’s for Pooh.
As we were exiting Pooh heading for the Carousel, I spotted Peter Pan and Wendy.
DH jumped in the line with the kids while I ran to the stroller for the autograph book.
While waiting in line we were talking with the people behind us. We asked them where they were from they said PA, we said us too, Gettysburg, they said they are too, I then said actually just south in Littlestown, they started laughing and said they were too. Come to find out we live less than 1.5 miles apart. What a small world!!
Finally our turn with Peter and Wendy. The meet and greet went great. Last year our meeting with Peter was bad, I actually had posted pics of the look that DH was giving Peter on the Worst Character moment thread. That Peter was called the Creepy Peter by quite a few posters. Anyhow, this one was excellent, totally redeemed Peter Pan in DH’s eyes.

20100424_1306.jpg

Then over to ride the Carousel one last time.

20100424_1307.jpg

After exiting the ride, we grabbed some lunch at Pinocchio Village Haus. DD got her Mac & Cheese while the rest of us got Pizza.
Next stop was to Winnie the Pooh to use the FP’s. I commented that this was the last ride that we rode during our last trip.
Started our final walk out of the park.
Mad Tea Party had a 10 minute wait. DD wanted to ride it again. While we got in line, DH took DS to the bathroom and grabbed some FP’s for Buzz.
DD and I met them at Tomorrowland Transit Authority.
20100424_1312.jpg

And here is a pic I took of Astro Orbitor, because I did not get one when we rode it previously.

20100424_1311.jpg

DS saw the race cars and wanted to ride them. So upon exiting TTA we headed there.
On our way to the Speedway, we got to interact with PUSH. I told the kids how lucky they were to be able to do that on both of their trips.

20100424_1313.jpg

The Speedway was about a 20 min. wait. There was a girl in a car by herself that started freaking out she could not control the car and it was bouncing back and forth. We thought she was going to get out in the middle before a CM got to her. After exiting that we headed over to Buzz, our final ride of our trip.
We then did the sad dragging feet march out of MK.
The kids were saying bye to everything.
We were on the Ferry at 445pm.
Once back at the Fort, we loaded the Van on the tow dolly and left Fort Wilderness at approx. 545.
DH had his first GPS meltdown. It was telling him to take an exit (72B??) and he didn’t. He proceeded to rant and rave about the GPS telling you take the right exit and stay in the left lane, how the H#ll do you do both! I hate this thing.
I told him you need to listen to what it is telling you not just the first and last thing. When it is showing you right turn it is not now it is 2.3 miles or whenever it is showing you. Not sure if the exit he missed was just a short cut or what he actually missed, we were on 4 and continued with that.
I sat either in the passenger seat or on the couch.
Both kids finally fell asleep on the couches.
DH stopped for fuel at the same stop we used last time and we pulled into Super Walmart for the night just after 11pm.
We were the only campers there this time. DH and I both grabbed showers.
I stayed out on the one couch with the kids while he took the bed.
Set the alarm for 7am

Wow! I'm exhausted just reading your trip report. :lmao: Holy cow you packed a lot in a short time!!! Glad you enjoyed your trip. :)

I am jealous of the Papillon in your signature!

Don't be - she's a purebred Jack Russell Terrier! :lmao: Her mom was short haired, brown and white, her dad was long haired black and white. Her ears prick instead of flop. With her long hair she gets mistaken for a Pap in pictures a lot! She's 100% jack though.:goofy:

Day 11 - Sunday
Sprinkling rain when we got up.
DD was awake so I went ahead and gave her a shower.
I then headed into Walmart to get some donuts.
When I returned DS was up too.
DH who normally takes over an hour to go anywhere wanted to leave right away which wasn’t happening.
Handed DD a glazed donut and got her her chocolate milk out of the refrigerator warmed in the microwave that tastes good. (whew!)
Gave DS a shower.
He only wanted tea to drink.
We then headed out of Walmart.
I didn’t take note of the time. My guess would be about 845ish.
Journey was relatively incident free until during one of the bathroom trips I noticed that the cabinet above table was coming loose from the ceiling.
DH pulled into the next rest stop. I got on the phone to start voicing my displeasure to the dealership and asking what the HE!! are we suppose to do?
Of course being Sunday, no one was in service and the person was going to forward my name and number to the service manager for a call back on Monday.
DH found some larger width, same length screws to try since the current ones were not grabbing anything just turning when he was trying to retighten them.
While he was doing this, I went ahead and gave the kids lunch which consisted on odds and ends of leftovers.
Headed back out on the road.
Kids took turns riding shotgun. Everytime DD was up there she was telling Daddy how to drive. That’s my girl!!
Somewhere along the line, DH asked me if I heard a noise. I kept asking him what noise. Asked him that at least 4 times before DD said that it was the movie she was watching on the computer that was making the noises.
Our next stop was at a fuel stop just north of Richmond.
Cabinet was loose again. I held the cabinet up tight to the ceiling and DH took a screw and put it through the side of the cabinet into the wood side frame that houses the refrigerator. Keeping fingers crossed that we did not damage anything.
Made a quick dinner of chicken strips, French fries, tossed salad, and applesauce.
Back on the road we went.
Started getting close to the 495 exit, DH started his ranting and raving again saying that no signs are telling him 270. I said take 495 north, what the GPS is telling you. He finally saw a sign that said something to something to 270. He then went on and on about only one little sign, that’s it, just one little sign. I said you are not looking for 270, you are looking for 495 north. Take the exit for 495 north then start looking for 270. Made it onto 270 and we started to see lightning and then it started raining. We ran the wipers which didn’t seem to work to well, put on the defroster because the windows were fogging up, and tried to get a weather channel on the radio.
DH wanted to start the generator and turn on the tv to the weather station. I said no way.
DH then started can you and never finished. I just sat there. He started getting frustrated. I said I am not a mind reader. He then spatted back Why are you talking to me like that. I then spatted back, If you want me to do something you need to tell me what to do. Turn the fan on, get a different radio station. Just like before when you asked me do you hear that noise. I asked you 4 times what noise with no response from you. If you tell me what I am listening for, squeak, thump, buzz, whistle then I know what I am suppose to be listening for. I am not a mind reader! Finish what you want me to do.
Tell me what noise you are hearing.
The storm passed without anything major going on.
I sat back with DS on one couch and DD fell asleep on the other.
We pulled into our driveway around 10pm.
