After 10 years of staying at OKW, we had our first stay in a one bedroom at VWL. It was wonderful.

We had room 3517. It overlooked the quiet pool, which was working fine during our stay. There was enough of a break in the trees where we could see the Electric Water Pageant at night from our balcony.

The theming was amazing. I fell in love with it. From the tile work to the stenciling, no detail was overlooked. The mix of fabric patterns was skillfully done, giving it a real feeling of coziness.

Right outside our door was the central lobby area. They had a beautiful Christmas Tree set up. The lobby itself was perfect. It had such a warm cabin feel to it, I would have loved to have had the chance to sit, relax and just look around.

The best part was the glorious scent of the health spa. That wonderful aroma filled the air. Mmm.....incredible. Again, no time to book a treatment, but it reminded me of the Disney Cruise and I wouldn't be surprised if they use the same products.

We found Roaring Forks to be very convenient for quick snacks. I warned my DH that breakfast would be busy, so he brought back the food to the room.

We went for a swim in the main pool and were joined by a family of ducks. While in the hot tub, the geyser went off. It's just such a thrill to think "wow! I own a piece of this!"

After 3 nights, we moved to a studio at OKW. We were in the Turtle Pond area tucked into a secluded corner. It was very nice.

I have to say, I love both of the resorts. While I know that there are constant debates about the difference in sizes of the accommodations, it didn't mean a thing to us. Each resort has it's own unique appeal, and I'm looking forward to 40 more years of staying at both of my "homes.":)

Glad to hear you had such a wonderful trip. I agree, ALL the DVC are special for different reasons. Our home is BWV and we are adding on this week to VWL, where we stayed in Sept. I just couldn't let it sell out without owning a little piece of that VWL magic. WL and VWL does have the warmest feeling ever. That's what I love about the DVC resorts. They ALL have a different feel.

Hi DVCREG,

In case you didn't take one here is a picture of that duck with her babies! It was so cute to see them in the pool each day. The babies are laying down in this shot. At first I was worried but the woke up shortly after.
