Our family stayed at the Beach Club for the first time a couple of weeks ago. There are 5 in our family, our boys are 18, 13, & 11. We originally booked a room at POR but I was so worried that it wouldn't be big enough for all of us. We switched to BC b/c of the size of the rooms, bed situation and the pool and the slide were HUGE factors. Check in went so smooth, we were upgraded from a standardview to gardenview and the room was ready at 1:00. The room was really nice, loved the little area by the double sinks. Perfect size for someone to change in. The beds & pillows were wonderful, I slept great. We didn't received any towel animals during our stay (I know it's not a guarantee) and we did have to call to request additional washclothes and shampoo. For 5 people we were receiving 1 washcloth a day. Really?! This isn't something we share. We did have some food from Marketplace, it was ok. We ate at Cape May's clambake and the character breakfast. Both were great, we all loved the clambake. We also experienced the Kitchen Sink at Beaches n Cream. We waited about 20 minutes which wasn't too bad since the kids were in the arcade. Sitting on the beach was wonderful and ds #3 liked the movies they were showing on the beach. Another nice perk was the boats to DHS.
The pool was wonderful although we stayed in one section of it. Ds #3 liked hanging over the edge and playing in the sand. One huge disappointment was the slide. Each kid went down once and said the same thing at the end, "never again, that hurt my back". I guess where they bolt the sections of the slide together are bumpy, this is why I hate water slides. So one of the big draws for our family was a huge dud.
My other disappointment was the conceirge. I asked one of the men how we would get to the Disney Speedway. He told me that we would have to call a cab to get there. This is what we did and when we were done at the speedway I asked them to call us a cab. The girl said "no need, we have a free shuttle". Really!!!!! The shuttle took us to MK where we hopped on a DHS bus then took the boat back to the resort. I wish I would have know this at the resort. It would have saved me $20 plus the aggrevation of dealing w/a driver that spoke very little English and kept asking us what gas station we needed to go to.
Besides the two flaws, I would still recommend staying at the BC. Not sure if we will if we ever go down again, but if was do I will probably try a different one just to see what some of the other resorts are like.
