our first DVC/off property trip....booked it today!

Well, we're going to do the Wonder 4 day cruise next May. Today is the 11 month window so dh called and everything is arranged. They even give you a stateroom number!! Checked it out on the internet deck plans and it's cool to be able to see exactly where we'll be.

No on in our family has ever cruised before. I tend to get motionsick on my dad's boat bobbing up and down on Lake Erie. It's a viscious cycle....take Dramamine, feel sick, lie down on the boat to sleep it off, and get sunburned in the process. Needless to say I haven't been "fishing" on the boat in many years! We've heard the bigger the boat the less you feel it.....I'm hoping!

We will combine the 4 day Wonder with 8 days at VWL.

You'll have a FABULOUS time!!

DH and I were on the 11th sailing of the Magic - back in 1998. Neither of us had ever cruised before, and we both really enjoyed it. Because of th steep "point cost" associated with the cruise, we haven't done it again - but we talk about it alot, so we'll probably do it again, soon!

Have a great trip - you're gonna love it!

Congratulations! We went on a 3-day last year and had a great time, but in retrospect it was too short (actually 2.5 days) and a little too intense. If we do it again we'll go with a 4-day. You made the right choice!

BTW if you have thoughts about points vs cash for cruises, I'm listening.

Well, I let dh figure this one out.....but what we did was pay points for us...and cash for the kids. If we hadn't have used points we would have had a ton (figuratively speaking, of course) left over.
I believe dh said something to the effect of "if we could RENT our points for cash and then pay for the cruise, it would work out better" but then said "but what happnens if no one wants to rent points.....".....I'm not really sure what he said after that, I was already lost in my own dreams about the cruise....spa....lobster... kids in their programs....huh? what? oh, yeah, so as I was saying....

By using points for the cruise I do know that will make us need to do a studio for 9 nights at VWL (it's 9, not 8...see how well I know the plans??) We can't "afford" to do a 1-br, but I guess we'll have to "suffer" through it!
My point cruncher dh (ohiomickey) could probably explain it better.
