Our First Anniversary Trip! New Friends and Summer Nightastic Fireworks!!!

Hey Everybody, sorry I've been MIA, but I was in the hospital last weekend. I had a severe tooth abscess, so I've been loopy on painkillers this whole week. I go to see the oral surgeon tomorrow, so I'll probably be out of commission for a while again, but I just wanted to let you all know that I'm thinking about you and I miss you. Hopefully I'll be able to update again soon. Cross your fingers!

Well sending best wishes & prayers your way

Good luck!! I hope everything goes well and that you will be back before you know it!!! Get well soon!!

Just started to read your TR and can't wait for more! My DH and I are also planning to move to Florida, although not for another few years. We have to wait until the market improves so we can sell our house. We are tired of all the Minnesota winters!

Hi Joanne!! I finally got all caught up and I thoroughly enjoyed your morning at DHS!! I am not a Star Wars person but I LOVED all those pictures and characters!!! And your DH with his light saber was cool too!;) I have got to get to One Man's Dream next time! I have read so many TR's of people seeing that and I can't believe I missed it, I am sure we were in a Toy Story Mania trance but still, that is on my "must do" list!!! Jedi Mickey was the cutest as was R2D2 with the Mickey ears!! LOVE IT!! Your Anniversary dinner sounded so yummy and that dessert looked heavenly!! :cloud9: Can't wait to see all the things you did at MK!!!!!!!!!!

Hi! What a great report you have going. I started to reading because I wanted to see what you had to say about Narcoossees.

I must say I am pretty sure those are the best tye dyed shirts I have ever seen! Really love em!

How did you get the personalized menus at Narcoossees? I called Disney dining and they said to tell them we are celebrating a 60th birthday at the "podium". But how fun would personalized menus be?

Looking forward to more!

Margaret

Beautiful update ! As always love the pictures, great that you all met. That's always so much fun I had a Dis meet with a friend from Australia this past May and if all goes as planned she, her DH, me, my DH and another Disser from Chicago will be doing MNSSHP this Oct together. Can't wait to meet you both too :)

Hey Ruthie! I hope you get to do MNSSHP! I really, really want to, but it'll have to wait until we actually live there. We can't wait to meet you too!

So excited to see an update :goodvibes I love the little extra touches at WDW...it was very thoughtful of Mickey lol

It is funny how people worry about their children annoying others, but my family is all "talkers" so we love it when others want to chat :rotfl:

:) Mickey is pretty great, isn't he? We talk to anyone and everything too, so I always find it a bit odd when other people think it's a bother. I get it though, I guess. People don't want their kids to be annoying, but we had so much fun with that little boy!

Hi again!
Great updates! The Star Wars weekend looks like so much fun! I am not a huge star wars fan, but it is cool to see something different at Disney. I am glad to see that you enjoyed 50's Prime Time Cafe and Narcoossee's!

And I did not forget about the book! It is called The Animated Man: A Life of Walt Disney and it is by Michael Barrier. Very interesting read!

Thanks! I have to go catch up on your TR now. I"ve missed a bunch! And thanks so much for the book recommendation, I'll have to check it out. :goodvibes

Hiiiiii Jojo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a great update!!!! lol. Omg of course, here's another crazy coincidence! We had the SAME table at 50's PT!!! So funny!!! I'm like hey that view looks totally familiar!! :rotfl: I had totally forgotten about the lip balm, that was such a great moment. It's so nice to read this, it's making me a lil teary. I'm a nerd, I know. Can't wait to read more!! Love you mama!!!!

Thanks Legs! That's too funny that you guys had the same table. I think it's just another point that proves we were meant to be friends. :goodvibes I miss you tons and love you bunches!

Well sending best wishes & prayers your way

Ruthie, you're the best. I'm feeling much better. Not 100% yet, but at least I can eat regular food again! Even stuff like hot dogs sound SO good when you can't have them! I was allowed a ton of ice cream though... :goodvibes

Just wanted to pop in and say "Hi" and hope you are doing well :goodvibes

Thank you! :goodvibes It means a lot.

Just started to read your TR and can't wait for more! My DH and I are also planning to move to Florida, although not for another few years. We have to wait until the market improves so we can sell our house. We are tired of all the Minnesota winters!

:welcome: I totally agree with you about getting away from winter, and I know our Michigan winters aren't as bad as MN winters! (But they are pretty crappy) I hope you get there soon! I have to tell you, the idea of living in warmth with no threat of ice storms sounds SO great. But, we'll have to come back every once in a while to go sledding. ;)

Hey Beth! I hope you get to One Man's Dream to, I totally love it. I get the TSM trance though. It might just end up becoming a valid medical condition... R2MK was definitely one of my favorite things, and I think I could go back to Narcoossee's a million times just for that cheesecake.

Hello Margaret and :welcome: Thanks for the compliments! :goodvibes I'm glad you like the shirts, I've been making them like crazy! We actually didn't ask for our personalized menus, our server brought them out to us. We did tell them it was our anniversary when we made our ADR, and we were wearing our anniversary buttons. We didn't get one from our honeymoon though, so maybe it just depends on your server? I'm sure you could ask for them, though... I agree, it would be a great souvenir from a birthday dinner!

After the stop at the store, we went to the Photopass desk at the GF and decided to get some pics taken. We were all talking at once and having a grand old time, and the CM asked us how we knew each other. We kinda laughed sheepishly and said "Actually, we just met tonight!" The CM laughed and said "can I be your friend too?" Our pics came out pretty cute, so here's a couple of them:

The 5 of us (princessallegra, her DH, me, my DH and Fluppy Pluto) :) then got onto the Monorail for the quick trip over to MK. When we got there, the first showing of the Main Street Electrical Parade was happening, but we went over to get Allegra and her DH's Anniversary buttons. We were VERY excited to see the MSEP, but we knew there was a later showing, so we decided to walk through the shops on Main Street and then scope out a good place for the Summer Nightastic fireworks. It was SO much fun shopping together! We walked through and ooh'ed and aah'ed at everything, and jabbered at each other at about a mile a minute. (Well, Legs and I did. I think our DH's were just along for the ride! That's what happens when you get two insane-o Disney nuts together. :goodvibes ) MK was SO crowded!! We knew it was going to be, because it was the first night of the Summer Nightastic festivities but it was pretty crazy! Main Street was absolutely packed. We finally found a good spot for the fireworks right before the bridge into Tomorrowland. We hung out for a bit, and then it was time for the show to begin!

Had to take a castle pic before things got started...

Here come the fireworks!! (These are my favorite pics from the trip, I think.) There's a TON of them, so I hope you all like them as much as I do!

*sigh* Aren't they beautiful? I absolutely adored these fireworks. The storyline was great, and there were times where the castle actually looked like it was on fire! Amazing! I don't know what it is about fireworks, but their beauty always makes me cry like a baby.

After the fireworks people began to clear out, so Legs and I scoped out a place to wait for the parade. I was SO anxious for MSEP, because I had never seen it and it's one of those classic Disney things that I have always wanted to see. I grew up longing to go to WDW, and I was going to get to see something that was there when I was a kid! Legs and I found an awesome spot right on the curb, so we sat our butts down and proceeded to bond some more. :goodvibes We also grabbed a castle Photopass pic while we were waiting.

Isn't Fluppy Pluto the cutest? He told me he really liked the fireworks, but he was just a little bit scared of the pirates. :goodvibes Next up: the Main Street Electrical Parade!!

AWESOME Summer Nightastic Fireworks pictures Joanne! I think you did an awesome job!! They are all so beautiful and showcase the castle really well!!! I am REALLY looking forward to seeing the MSEP pics too!!!!!:goodvibes
(Pluto is adorable!)

WOW!! Joanne those photos are AMAZING!!!! Mike is super impressed!!! I'm sooo glad you got such a good shot of the Castle in smoke, that first night was so humid and still that the smoke really lingered for awhile and made the Castle look so cool. Loving your updates!!! Miss you bunches mama!! SO SOON FOR US!!! :cool1::cheer2:

Hi Joanne!
I am just getting all caught up. I hope that your tooth is okay!! Your fireworks pictures are absolutely beautiful!! There is nothing that can compare to Disney fireworks. On one of our last nights in Disney DH said "What are we going to do when we get home and we have no more 9 o'clock fireworks?" haha I loved it because he isn't a Disney nut like me. But it just goes to show how great they are. I can't wait to read more!
