Hi,
I wanted to share our family WDW experience with everyone....We spent Christmas in WDW from Dec 23 to Dec28....This is our first family trip and i have two boys 5 and 12...
We flown to Orlando and shuttled to our hotel....We stayed at the All Stars Sport Resort...
Our first day that we were there we flew in and only had a half day left so we went to check out Downtown Disney and Disney Quest, my two boys enjoyed Disney Quest so much they didn't want to leave but being there for four hours and with the flight i was just overly tried....
The second day we went to MK wasn't as busy as i thought it would be....My kids rode almost all the rides that they wanted to in the morning and mid afternoon we decided to go back to the hotel for some rest time, my younger one would not sit in a stroller so he was getting cranky....Then two hours later back on the bus back to Mk then to the monorail to Chef Mickey's which my kids love, so did i.....The food, the entertainment{Chip was helping the server clean up the table then he kept putting salt on the table so that the server had to reclean it}my boys thought that was the funniest thing that happen on our trip.....Then after dinner we went back to Mk to watch the parade at night, how beautiful it was....Rode some last minute rides that we didn't get to in the morning....
The third day we spent was Christmas in MGM....We took in some shows and rides....Then off to dinner at the 50's Prime Time....Excellent food and lots of fun.....By night it became really crowded but it didn't spoil our fun.....
The fourth day we spent it in Epcot....The Test Track was cool....My boys liked that ride....Did anyone know that if you work for GM there is a special door for the employes???We heard it through a friend at my husbands work....We didn't spend much time in this park by the fourth day it was taking a toll on my youngest son....I didn't get a chance to go all around the world show case, i would have like to but maybe next time....For the rest of that night we just relaxed and sat by the pool while the kids swim and i did some laundry....
On the fifth day we spent it in Animal Kingdom...Beautiful Park, my kids were amazed by all the animals...My youngest son loved the bone yard and the whole dinosaur theme....But he chicken out on the dinosaur ride but my oldest son and dh went on it and loved it....Tough to be a bug that is really cool, our whole family loved it....When we done with this park which we stayed till dinner from open we were dead tired.....We ate at the Rain Forest Cafe for the first time food was great and the atmosphere was cool....Kept my youngest entertained while waiting for our dinner....
On the Sixth day was our leaving day it was sad our trip was coming to an end....We went back to Downtown Disney in the morning....My DH and the two boys went to DisneyQuest while i did some shopping in the shops....Then it was time to go home....
I have learned alot from these threads and i would like to thanks everyone.....My only advice and i read it on these threads.....Make sure you have a good pair of walking shoes, take some time out during the day especially if you have small children, don't try to do every thing cause you wont be able to do in one visit....One very important thing i have learned is don't make a schedule let things happen one at a time.....When i first got there i want my kids to see every thing i turned into a drill sergent and made everyone unhappy for the first morning until my dh said slow down...I didn't realize what i was doing until someone pointed it out for me.....From then on i took my time and went where the kids wanted to go....Take your time and enjoy it with your family...There is so much more to tell about each and everyone of these parks but i think i talk enough....
Thank you everyone....
:wave2:

Thanks for the report! It sounds like you and your family had a great trip!

Thanks for the wonderful post. It sounds like you had a wonderful trip. Since I started reading the Unofficial Guide and some of the posts on this board I could feel myself getting in the commando mindset. This is exactly what I didn't want to do. I was glad to read your advice about that. We are going Presidents week and I can't wait. I'm really looking forward to MK and AK. My son will be 8 by then and it's his first time. I realized that the reason I was having problems with park strategy plans was I'm not sure if he's a big roller coaster fan or not. He's only gone to one amusement park with us and rode a moderate coaster and liked it. I guess we'll just have to see and follow his lead on what rides seem enticing.

sounds like a ball we will be there in 32 days . how was the allstar sport? that is where we are staying. (football wing)
thank you

Great report! Thanks for sharing.:sunny: Sounds like you had a wonderful time. When the kids get older, they'll appreciate Epcot more!::yes::

thanks for sharing with us..sounds like you had a wonderful time...yea i am afraid of turning into the drill sargent myself......i am gonna try to leave my whistle at home..ha ha ha ...

Hi,
We stayed at the baseball wing....We did request the surf's up but didn't get it.....But that's okay because we really enjoyed the baseball just as well....The rooms were nice, and clean...My boys loved the over size sports stuff.....Some people say that the rooms are small in the All Stars but i don't really think you need anymore room unless you plan on staying in your room all day.....I have a family of four and had plenty of room...We stayed during Christmas and housekeeping made a snowman out of towels for my boys it was so cute.....Also the pool is in the baseball wing and the surf's up wing so i guess my kids didn't really care where they went just as long as they could be by the pool....Every night when we went by the football wing there would be kids and parents playing football, i just think the All Stars are more family orientated....So if you have boys i would bring a football.....If you would like to know anything else just ask, i'll be more than happy to help.....
