Our Escape Wedding TR/PJ ~ 06/2010 WP/Mizner's/Citricos

Hey Wendy!! Everything is looking fantastic! Love the hanger (I had one too!!!) and the bouquets are great! I just love the yellow!

Everything looks wonderful!

You know you better post links to your Etsy's dealers for the hanger and invitations :rolleyes1

Do you know how much disney is charging you for customizing your cake? We were thinking about doing that but figured it was too much money..I love your flowers (I'm biased, as you know we are using gerbera's too)...the dress that your MOH picked it is really nice and we are also doing the petals through Disney because it is one less thing we have to worry about :)

They are only charging us $45 to change our cake! Rosie said most of that is just for the supplies and fresh flowers she has to purchase. I was going to go outside Disney for petals but I've gotten extremely lazy about that stuff...and Disney's prices are pretty doable for the convenience. ;) What color petals are you doing?

that's great that you're going to be able to customize your cake for not much extra money. The floral looks great, I love the polka dot ribbon and the MOH dress is supercute!

Thanks Sara! I didn't think we'd be able to but Rosie mentioned it when I said I didn't like any of the cakes. Oonce she told me the cost I was hooked. I think my MOH did a great job finding the dress!

the MOH dresses and bouquets look really really nice

Thanks :cutie: I was going to go with all yellow Gerbers for both my and my MOH bouquets, but decided I needed the contrast of the white in there. I've requested more yellow then white daisies though :flower3:

Thanks Amanda! That's awesome, I can't wait to see your pics, especially your dress pics so I can see what the hanger will look like :thumbsup2

haha! Of course! The Etsy seller for the hanger is LilaFrances (http://www.etsy.com/shop/lilafrances). She currently has a 8-10 week wait on the hangers, so order soon if you need it in the next couple months!

I love the hanger!

Thanks! :goodvibes The quality is amazing - I was so happy with it when I opened the envelope. She's a very talented seller!

Hi Wendy,

I love your PJ. We are so similar. I too am having an Escape wedding at 2.30 pm Aug 3rd at the Wedding Pavillion. I will have 15 to 18 people. DF is keen on having dinner at Citrico's afterwards. Like you I would also like a dessert party but with dinner I think it will be too much. So I figure with dinner starting at 5/5.30 we will be done by 7.30 - 8.00 at the latest is that what you are estimating?

Are you planning anything else after dinner for you and your guests? I don't know now tired we will all be but I think that I won't want the day to end so early...Wishes is at 10pm when we are there so I don't think we will hang that long to see it or book a cruise to go see them.

Thanks Brit! :) I'm SO excited about our reception at Citricos. Eric spoke with the general manager of the restaurant and he has been so accommodating for our wedding. There's no time limit, we'll all sit together, and he's even helping us set up a cocktail hour at Mizner's Lounge in the Grand Floridian, where he's also the general manager. I can't wait!! Our dinner is starting at 5:30 pm and we will go as long as our guests want to enjoy the atmosphere :goodvibes I figured we'll all hang out and chat, enjoy drinks from the bar after dinner, and just enjoy everyone's company.

We haven't planned anything for after dinner. I totally agree that I don't want to just end the night at 8 pm. Yes Wishes is at 10 pm so we have thrown around the idea of staying to watch the fireworks from the Grand Floridian...not officially but if we happen to catch them because we're all still at Citricos that would be great. Though Citricos doesn't have a good view, we can easily walk out of the restaurant to watch them! :cutie: We really don't find it necessary to book a cruise or anything (plus we have too many people for one). There are some amazing views of the fireworks from the GF. We have also thought about possibly heading to downtown Disney with some of our friends for cocktails and dancing and then maybe leaving them early there to enjoy the rest of the night ourselves :lovestruc

Hope this helps, your plans sound perfect so far!!! :cool1:

Thanks for the info Wendy - it helps. I have never been to the GF only seen pictures. I like the sound of your cocktail party at Mizners first.

Did you work with Citrico's directly to book your dinner or did you go through your Disney wedding coordinator first?

We were really excited when the manager gave us the idea to host a cocktail hour at Mizner's Lounge. It's a really cool looking lounge that I know our guests will enjoy hanging out in! We will be setting up a bar tab specifically for our wedding guests. I think I might make little cards for them to carry and show the bartender to make sure we're only charged with drinks from our wedding guests!

We worked with the general manager directly. Our planner didn't help with making restaurant reservations. We asked her for options and she mentioned some but ultimately we had to do the work ourselves! But it was super easy once we got a hold of the general manager! :thumbsup2 We called the Disney dining phone number and then they transferred us to Citricos directly.

Mizner's is great, it has a really nice view and it's right behind the orchestra. My DF loved going there for a drink when we stayed at the GF in June. It was really nice to just sit there and listen to the music. I think the cards are a good idea too I would hope random people wouldn't do things like that, but better to be on the safe side.

Wendy what you have worked out sounds great, I love that you will have the bar tab at Mizners - I think I will try and give Citricos a call and get the ball rolling with them. DF really wants to go there after the wedding and now that I have the $7500 minimum taken off my mid-week contract even if we do a dessert party we will just work it outside of the wedding on another night.

This trip for our wedding we will also have three Birthdays. My soon to be Stepson and my Niece will both turn 16 and my older Sister will also have a Birthday the day after our wedding. It will also be the first trip to Disney world for my best friend from England and her two children, so it will be a celebration from start to finish. A DP the evening before or the day after will be great.

I love all your etsy finds...I have a serious addiction to that site! I have to admit, I wanted to copy you on the cuff links, but DF's shirt isn't made for them :sad2: I'm looking forward to reading more :goodvibes

I've heard about it's location but I didn't know you could hear the music! That's awesome!! Yea I agree, I definitely need something that will distinguish our wedding guests from random hotel guests...I will probably DIY something and include it in their welcome bags!! ;)

That's an awesome idea. I've read about a lot of ladies making ADR's there so if you can't make it there because of the new minimum definitely try and get there for a romantic dinner with your DF!! If you can't get a hold of the manager, let me know and I will ask Eric if he has a number for the restaurant directly.

Wow its definitely a celebration while you're in Disney!! :yay: I would LOVE to celebrate my birthday at Disney World - lucky kids!! Hey is Disney still doing the deal about getting a free day at the parks on your birthday? You should look into that for them! :cheer2:

Awesome bouquet!!! I love the colors. And what a cute bridesmaid dress.

Thanks Sam! I wanted something really bright so we're incorporating yellow throughout the wedding :goodvibes

Etsy is amazing. I am totally addicted to it now too, especially because everything I've ordered from the sellers has completely exceeded my expectations!! The cuff links are AWESOME, you should totally get them anyway ;) You could always buy him a new shirt that does need cuff links and surprise him with that and the links on the wedding day! :dance3:

Speaking of amazing Etsy finds, I just got my head pieces in the mail from Etsy seller lottiedadesigns!!! :cool1: I am SO happy with the way they both turned out. She slightly customized them for me by adding a couple black/white guinea feathers to both my head band and my MOH's hair flower. The pictures are below!

We also purchased Eric's suit this weekend!!! He had originally planned to rent a tux because he wanted to look like James Bond. But reality set in and I realized that I hated the idea of him renting a tux when he is constantly complaining about needing another suit! So we went to Saks this weekend and found an amazing black DKNY suit for him!!!! He also found a great pair of new black Cole Haan shoes to wear. He's going to be so stylish :lovestruc

Love the suit and the headband!! We also opted to buy a suit as well..it just made more sense for us, we ended up getting an AMAZING deal on DF's suit from Macy's and got his Tommy suit for $150:thumbsup2 It ended up being cheaper than renting a tux. Are you planning on having Carolyn Allen's come and steam your dress and DF's suit? I have to contact them soon to schedule them to come to the room to do ours.

Also, have you sent in for your marriage license yet?

Oh I just love your headband!! It came out fab!!! And Eric's suit is so sharp!! I had to convince my Eric to buy a suit too...very nice!!!

Wendy,

Your headband and MOH flower for her hair are great and it's nice with the 'dots' on the feathers.

DF's suit looks very nice too, definately a very classic look. All he needs is James Bonds shades from Quantum of Solice :cool1:
