Our End-of-the-Summer Celebration! *TR LINK ADDED!!*

Thanks! Yeah, I'm not really sure what our plans will be on the 24th  (atleast right now) but since it's our last day :sad2: I'd be guessing we'll go to Downtown Disney or the Magic Kingdom for one last visit.

I hear you on that ! That is my arrival day and we aren't planning it really until we get there ! The only thing definite that day is our dinner ressies at T-Rex at 6pm! Other then that we'll see how we feel when we get there the idea I have is either the resort Pool or water park for a few hours showers then dinner then DHS for EMH! But we usually do MK our 1st night so Idk yet! ;)Your monorail update is great! The first time we took DD and Ds to Disney DD was like 4 1/2 something like that we got on the monorail she heard that and laughed the whole trip she mimicked that saying it was hysterical! Even when we got home she was still doing it! :rotfl2: In 5 more days i'll be doing the one month dance and you'll be at 25days!! :)

It's almost that time!!!! If ya wanna share that cab with us lmk. ;) Is there anyone else going at the same time that's not on my PTR? I figured maybe you knew of some different people. This is going to be a big Dismeet in the end, ya know it? Got my documents today....means it's soon, really soon! :goodvibes

Well if you're going to be at T-Rex maybe we could meet there. But then again EMH at the Studios would be cool too (I've never done PM EMH!). So how old are your kids now?

Can't wait to read the rest of your report! Sounds great so far! :D

Thanks! Glad to have another reader. :)

I know, I can't believe it's getting so close. Yesterday Dad said to me "one month until your trip." hehe That is exciting you got your mail!

Happy Tuesday!

I can't believe we're down to 30 days now! At this time next month we'll probably be at Hollywood Studios riding Tower of Terror. :scared1: Woo hoo!

Time for Magical Memory #8!

A while ago I was looking at my pin collection and there was one that stood out. In 2001, Disney World was celebrating "100 Years of Magic." For that celebration, they had these really cool pins that were sort of interactive. When you touched them they would light up and then the really neat part was that they'd start blinking at certain attractions/shows. As one of our Easter treats, my sisters and I each ended up getting one. I don't remember all the attractions where the pins would work but I do remember one night we went to see Fantasmic and sure enough, during the show I looked down at my lanyard and the lights on the pin were blinking along to the music. It was pretty cool.

I guess that leads me into another one of my favorite things about Disney World...PINS!
n20305212_32942784_9124.jpg

The first pin I got was on our first trip in 1991...it was a "small world" pin that had a logo for WDW's 20th anniversary.

pin1010

I got a couple other pins here and there but in 2000 Mom and Dad went to Disney World since Dad had a conference there. They told us how there were pins everywhere (the millenium celebration was the kickoff of the pin craze I guess) and they brought a couple home for us. Ever since then I've been collecting those little souvenirs. They're so addicting and I know some of you guys can attest to that. ;) The only thing that annoys me is how they keep raising the prices! Seriously, I remember when you could get a pin for $5. But I love my pin collection and look forward to adding to it each trip.

Ahhh pins are so cool! I wish I had self control...then I would be able to just buy a few and be done with it. But no, I DON'T have self control and would end up in debt if I started collecting LOL

The magical moments one is really cool how it lit up when you were at Fantasmic!

Hey! It's you're last day and my 1st you tell me where you want to meet and i'll be there! :goodvibes I love your pins they are to cool! My DD is 14 3/4 yrs old she will be 15 on Sept 12th! :scared1: My DS just turned 10 in February! :) I know I really can't believe we are soooo close! It's getting exciting! I'm going away this weekend getting the kids school shopping done my relatives think i'm a lunatic but I told them! we'll be on vaca the end of august so this is how we're doing it! :goodvibesSo I get a mini vaca Hershey Friday and outlets sat and the weather is suppose to be crappy but IDC i'm still going!!! :)

I can't believe you are at 30 days! It seems like you were just starting your Magical Memories countdown not too long ago. Yay for you! And I really like your shoes. Kohls always has good shoes.

Favorite thing #1: Monorails!

n1605780003_30341886_1698.jpg

Ever since staying at the Polynesian I've loved the monorail. I'll always remember walking to the Great Ceremonial House up to the monorail platform to get to the Magic Kingdom. I love everything about it, including those famous words, "Please stand clear of the doors..." (we've had that as our start-up sound on the computer!)

And as a tradition when we arrive we'll try to guess which color monorail we'll see first which is always kind of fun. Now no trip is complete without atleast one ride on the monorail. :thumbsup2

I love that you have that as your computer start up sound! :goodvibes The monorail is an attraction in and of itself, don't you think?

Have you heard if they have started allowing people in the front again? I would really like to ride up there sometime, and I know Henry would just be in AWE!

I don't collect pins, but I think they are really neat! I am sure Henry will get into it one day and I'll see the money fly out of my wallet. Until then, I'm (trying to) avoiding the craze. I should really start saving my money now, huh? ;)

haha, I wish I had self-control too. I just can't seem to stop buying them. I have a fairly good-sized collection but then I see some other people's collections and that makes me feel a little better.

Your daughter's birthday is my half-birthday. :) It is really exciting our trips are so close but doesn't it stink you have to start thinking about school stuff? :sad2: We'll have to keep in touch so we can decide where to have a meet!

I know, I feel like I just started counting down and we're almost there!:eek: Thanks on the shoes. Now I've just got to start wearing them to break them in!

I love that you have that as your computer start up sound! :goodvibes The monorail is an attraction in and of itself, don't you think?

Yeah, we love the monorail! When we stayed at All Star Sports after staying at the Poly for so many years we were pretty bummed about not having the monorail. I haven't heard if they're letting people ride up front yet. :confused3 I think we did that once and it was pretty cool! I know they gave us co-pilot licenses afterward. :)

haha, yes, avoid it as long as you can! There is this new craze called vinylmation that I just read about (they're little plastic Mickey toys that come in all different designs) and they're soooo cute but I am afraid that'll be another thing to get addicted to!

On this day in Disney history...
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror opened on July 22, 1994. Happy 15th birthday Tower of Terror!

(I wouldn't have known that otherwise but got a facebook message from a Disney group saying that. Thought I'd share it with you guys :))

Since we're talking about Tower of Terror, how about some plans for Hollywood Studios?

n20305212_34376030_3615.jpg

It's looking like we're going to be going to Hollywood Studios on our first morning (I think they have EMH...) and then again when we have our ADR at the Prime Time Cafe.

For morning EMH, we'll first head to Toy Story Mania along with everyone else. We may try to get fastpasses for a second ride later on. After TSM, we'll head back to Sunset Boulevard to do Tower of Terror and Rock 'N Roller Coaster. We also really want to see the new American Idol Experience, being the AI junkies we are. We're hoping to see the first show of the day. For those of you that have just been there, do you know what times the shows are? Just curious...

Some of the other attractions I'd like to see:

:wizard: The Great Movie Ride...definitely a classic!

:wizard: One Man's Dream ...we did this once and I'd like to do it again. I was reading this book I have called Disney:The First 100 Years which gives a year-by-year history of Walt Disney and the company and it is sooo neat. So now I really want to go into OMD.

:wizard: Animation Building...I've been reading so many TRs lately where people have done the Animation Academy so that might be fun to try and I'd like to meet the Up characters! Love that movie!

:wizard: Block Party Bash...still have not gotten to see the whole thing (except at Disneyland). It's so much fun!

:wizard: Eat at Pizza Planet...love it there!

:wizard: Fantasmic...we'll do this on the 23rd when we have our Prime Time reservation. I think it's the only night they have the show while we're there.

Maybe we'll take in a show or two as well if we need a break from rain/heat/bad weather.

29 DAYS!!!

Ahh I love all the rides at DHS! You guys will love AI since I know you love the show. I'm not 100% when all the showtimes are but when we were there there was definitely a show at 2 which was when we saw it and the finale was at 7. Other than that I'm not sure!

I agree! Those Vinylmation guys are really cute! I saw one on a TR of a Kermit. His eyes were Mickey's ears. REALLY cute!

Your DHS plans look great! Do you guys do ToT or RnRC?

I can't believe it's been 15 years since the ToT opened. I just told that tidbit to DH and he says "No way, I remember when it opened!" Then we realized, we are just getting ooooooooooooold! :lmao:

I almost bought a couple of those vinylmation things on the Disney Shopping website but didn't. I figured I might as well wait until we actually go! haha

Ohhh yes, we definitely do Tower of Terror and Rock 'N Roller Coaster. :thumbsup2 I used to be terrified of them both but now they're probably two of my favorite rides, especially ToT!

Look at my ticker, only 4 weeks to go now! I'm going to start sounding like a broken record but I can't believe how fast the time is flying by. We're going to be there so soon!

Anyways, I wanted to share another one of my favorite things about Disney World. I thought since I mentioned the Tower of Terror's 15th anniversary yesterday that would be a good one!

Favorite Thing #3: Tower of Terror!

I have to admit this didn't always start out as one of my favorites. Let's just say I was never too keen on thrill rides. I think I rode it for the first time in 2003 and we rode ToT and RNRC back-to-back. I remember being so nervous and during the ride I held onto the handbars for dear life. Well, after a few more times riding it, it really started to grow on me. I love all the theming: the library, the bellhops, everything! One of my favorite parts is seeing the "ghosts". It's so cool! Here's our ride photo from our trip in 2006...you can tell I've since gotten over my fear of ToT. ;) My sister and I are in the second row on the right with our arms up in the air. haha!

Sounds good to me! My little Great niece her bday is September 23rd! She'll be 3! I know I feel old old saying I have a great nice! :rotfl: My Niece had her when she was 17! :)

29 DAYS!!!

OMG! That's too funny! The tower of Terror was born the same day as me of course not the same year! I'm more ancient! :lmao: I'm glad it looks older than I do though! :rotfl2:

Ooh, I LOVE Tower of Terror!! I was not such a fan, at first though. Last trip, my sister and I road it about 7 times. My favorite time to ride it is at night. It makes it even more spooky!

Btw, don't you just LOVE having the low ticker?! :woohoo:

you are not sounding like a broken record, just a very excitable person and well who could blame you really :)

I have to say i didn't like TOT, the themeing was great fun, and i loved all that and the ride up in the lift BUT gawd when that thing dropped and kept going back up and dropping again my poor head. I got off and felt like everything in my body was trying to escape through my brain, i hated the feeling. I don't think i'll ever give it a second chance.

I know, me too! All the rides are great. Thanks for the info on the AI showtimes.

So tell me more about these vinylmation things! What are they??? I've never hear dof these yet!
Dothey actually sell them at Disney?????

Four weeks, four weeks!

Last night as I was falling asleep I was thinking about how today makes our trip 40 days away. Then I thought of you, and it seemed like yesterday you were saying 40 days, so before I know it, I would be counting weeks! Fuzzy Disney Math for ya, anything to make the trip seem closer.

The theming of ToT always amazes me! It is SO well done. Even the queue is creepy!!!!
