Our End-of-the-Summer Celebration! *TR LINK ADDED!!*

Just wanted to share this with everyone...

The other day I somehow got invited to this group on facebook called "WDW Memories." Apparently they are going to be making a book filled with people's memories from Disney World. It doesn't give a ton of details but it sounds like it could be kind of neat. I'm trying to think of a really good story to submit. haha!

So if you're on facebook and want to join, here's the link:

WDW Memories

ooh what a great idea, have to go check that out :)

ONLY 6 WEEKS TO GO!!!

:dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:

The weeks are just flying by, as is this summer. We're only 42 days away which means our Magical Express tags should probably be coming in the next couple weeks. :scared1:

I have to go to work but I'll definitely start posting plans for each park soon! I finally feel like it's not too early to do that. ;) Oh yes, and I might post pictures from our visit to see the circus wagons...The Great Circus Parade is on Sunday and I am soooooooooo excited! :yay::yay: It is definitely quite the production and is something really unique to the city...I really want to show you guys what it's all about!

That sounds like a really neat idea! I'm on Facebook but never login--I think the last time I did was back in November! :goodvibes

When those pretty yellow tags show up in your mailbox then you know you are VERY close. I'm looking forward to mine too!!! :dance3:

Yeah, I have a feeling those tags are going to be coming any day now...we're 40 days out today and I think for our last trip we got them about a month ahead of time.

Is it just me or is the summer just flying by? It seems like I just started my 100-day countdown the other day and now we're only 40 DAYS away from our trip. :cool1: Before long it's only going to be a month away!

Since we're getting so close I spent some time yesterday making lists of things I want to do at each park. I was also trying to make one for Blizzard Beach since we still want to go there. I'm going to have to take a look at the website since I was going by memory from our visit there years ago. But before I post some plans, it's time for another Magical Memory. :goodvibes

Magical Memory #7

The other day I came across a CD that wasn't labeled at all so I was curious as to what was on it. I skipped through all the tracks and one of them was the song from the old Tapestry of Nations parade. Did any of you ever see that? I want to say it started around the millennium celebration in 2000. It was a parade around World Showcase Lagoon and it featured drummers and puppeteers with these HUGE puppets. Unfortunately I don't think it lasted too long but it was such a cool parade. The thing that sticks out most in my mind were the puppets that had little puppets attached to them so it looked like the bigger ones were the puppeteers. I actually found some pictures online since the ones I have are pretty dark since it took place at night.

And a couple other pictures:

A video too...I just loved the song so much. :goodvibes

Hi there. I am finally caught up! It's so funny that you mentioned the Tapestry of Nations parade since we were talking about it while we were on our trip. It was a good parade and the music was so good. One time when we saw it, there was a guy up on really high stilts and he was walking in front of us. This little kid goes running RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM across the whole street. The guy sees him at the last second and tries to avoid him. He stumbles and falls down and is down for a long time. They held up the parade while people were around him. Then he finally got up and kept going. It was one of the craziest things I have ever saw during a parade. I can't believe the kid did that but I think the parents had crossed without her and she was running after them.

Great Update I remember that Tapestry Nation parade how cool! I'm on Facebook I'll have to chek that out you'll have to PM your info so I can add you! :)

It does seem like the summer is flying by! I can't believe we are already in mid-July. In a way I'm glad-it means our Disney trip is closer. ;) But, it also means my little boy is going to be turning 2 soon! :sad1:

That looks like an awesome parade! I wonder why they ended it?

It was a really neat parade...very different from anything else they've ever had.

Yeah, the music I think was definitely my favorite part of that parade. That is so crazy about the kid and the stilt walker! Atleast he was OK.

Sure, I'll send you a PM about facebook. :)

haha, exactly, I'm excited for our trip but then at the same time I do not want school to start again already. :sad2:

I really don't know why they ended it. I thought it was pretty popular but maybe not. :confused3

Well, we're down to only 39 days now! I don't know about you but there's something about being in the 30s that makes our trip seem sooooo close. Anyways, time for some park plans! We're still pretty undecided about where we're going to go each day but we do have a pretty good idea of what we want to do at each park.

Magic Kingdom Plans
n20305212_33510624_7133.jpg

I think it's safe to say that the Magic Kingdom is our favorite park. After all, that's where all the classic attractions are! Typically we head to the Magic Kingdom in the morning of our first full day and atleast one other time during the trip. However, we might head over to the MK on our arrival day since it's so close to the Wilderness Lodge. Since we won't be getting there until mid-afternoon, we may not get to do a lot. A lot of it will depend on what the crowds are like but it might be a good time to do something like the Hall of Presidents or the Laugh Floor.

I'm sure we'll go to the MK some other time during the morning. Our usual plan of attack might change with Space Mountain being closed for refurbishment. :sad2: So instead of going directly to Tomorrowland we may end up going to Frontierland for a couple other favorites:

n20305212_30160703_5071.jpg

Some of the other Magic Kingdom must-dos include:
:wizard: Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
:wizard: Jungle Cruise
:wizard: Pirates of the Caribbean
:wizard: Peter Pan's Flight
:wizard: The Haunted Mansion

I also really want to ride Dumbo since we haven't done that in YEARS and I would like to see the Move it! Shake it! Celebrate it! Parade. That looks like a blast!

We never have a problem doing everything we want to do on one trip so I'm sure we'll be able to do all our favorites plus some other attractions (i.e. in Fantasyland). And if for some reason we don't get everything done, hey, that's what another trip is for right? ;)

Enjoy your Sunday...I'm off to the Circus Parade!

That WS parade looks so neat! It's amazing how fast some things come and go at Disney.

Your MK plans sound wonderful! I always worry about not having enough time there. :rolleyes1

MK plans sound great! It's definitely just the classic Disney park that makes the trip for most people. The attractions you picked are awesome but don't forget about Philharmagic! Oh and you'll love the Move It Shake It Celebrate It parade, it's really fun!

It really is...sometimes they go so fast you don't even get to see them. :sad2:

Oh yeah, we'll definitely do Philharmagic, especially since it's going to be HOT! I can't wait to see the parade. :thumbsup2

Hey guys!

So today a great Milwaukee tradition returned...the Great Circus Parade! As soon as I heard it was coming back I knew I had to go. Growing up around here, we used to go ALL the time when we were younger and have a lot of memories from the parade. The last time they had it was in 2003 which I went to as well, but today I realized how much it is missed around here! It was soooo much fun and it is such a spectacle. It really ranks right up there with the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Tournament of Roses. Just wanted to share a few pictures from the parade. It's literally a piece of circus history with the authentic circus wagons from the 1880s-1920s. :thumbsup2 Oh yes, and there were even a couple wagons that Walt Disney owned!

The only thing that stinks is that it might not be coming back for a while since they ran out of funding. :sad2: But hopefully it'll be back...it's really amazing. :goodvibes
