Our Disney Store is closing

That list is no longer accurate. My store is on that list but is not closing. In fact, both NH stores on the list will remain open! And unfortunately, there are stores that are not on that list that will be closing. Yes, we are glad to be owned by Disney again, but it is kind of bittersweet knowing that some CMs won't be coming back home with us.

That is great news if those NH stores will remain open.

I am a Disney Store CM. That list is not correct. I know for a fact that there are stores on the list that are staying open. There are also stores that are closing that are not on that list.

I know the Burlinton, MA store closed recently. I didn't see Braintree on the list and hopefully it won't make it to the list! Do you know if Braintree will remain open by any chance?

I just checked this list and can say for sure there's an error on the PA list. The Disney Store near my house (Willow Grove Park) is closing and my heart aches for the CMs working there who have become like family to me. :sad1: I was speaking with one of the CMs last night (a manager) who told me she found ou her store was closing when the manager from the Montgomeryville Mall store called and told her the Willow Grove Park Mall store was closing instead of them.

At least the one in the Court at King of Prussia will remain open. It's about 3 times the size of the other Disney stores and since it's in a major 'destination' mall it isn't about to close anytime soon.

I'm glad King of Prussia is staying open. Does anyone know about the store at the Lehigh Valley Mallin Allentown PA?? I really hope they don't close.

I am hoping now that Disney bought it back they will have things worthy of buying again.

JoisyMom, I used to work at the Freehold NJ store (5 years), I left after CP took over. They WERE supposed to re-open, but it is not likely from what I am hearing. At least not anytime soon. :headache: :headache:

I want to go back though, and work at another store in the area at some point if Freehold is on hold.

Yes, Pat I remember. I was at Jackson today, and they are NOT closing. That list that is going around was a first draft, and it isn't accurate. The Freehold store is still supposed to re-open. So I am hopeful!! I would love to get a part time job there, I have applied before, but never heard anything back.

So, the Outlet Store is staying open? What about Quakerbridge? Cherry Hill? Deptford? Oxford Valley?

I live in South Jersey and am within 30 minutes driving distance of at least these 5 Disney Stores and I love them all? Are they staying???

The South Hills Village store in Pittsburgh is staying open. They said they will be the only store in the Pittsburgh area left.

I'm so glad to hear this - it is a further drive for us but still doable!

It's true about the South Hills Village Disney Store - it will be the only Pittsburgh area Disney Store to stay open. This was confirmed to me by the personnel at the Mall at Robinson on Friday. Very sad for all of the folks losing their jobs. The Cast Members at the Robinson store were great. I believe Robinson is going to be open for 4-6 more weeks.

In NH, Pheasant Lane (Nashua), Mall of New Hampshire (Manchester), and Mall at Rockingham (Salem) are staying open. In MA, Solomon Pond (Marlboro), Square One (Saugus), and the one in Taunton are staying open. I am not positive about the others in MA.

Thank you for taking the time to reply and also for doing it so quickly...I really appreciate it! :)

Yes, from what I've heard, Lehigh Valley Mall will be staying open in PA as well as South Hills Village, Rockvale Square, Hershey Outlet, King of Prussia, Montgomeryville Mall, Springfield, and I believe Oxford Valley is also staying open.

I was at one of our local Disney Stores today at Exton Square Mall here in southeastern PA and it was the busiest I have ever seen the store. The registers were constantly ringing up a line of guests, and the liquidation sale hasnt even begun yet. If this store had done business like this all along maybe Disney would have wanted to keep the store, but I guess it was too little too late. CM's at the registers were telling guests the store would be closing in 6-8 weeks and were handing out $5 off coupons for Disneystore.com. There was also a small sign in the window that said
"Dear Disney Store Guest,
We're sorrry, this location will be closing, but you can still shop at DisneyStore.com"
No liquidation signs have gone up yet at this store, but from what Ive been hearing, they probably went up tonight since it is supposed to start tomorrow, May 5th. All in all, I did find a few things and came out with a HUGE bag of stuff for only about $12. (Gotta love that Cast discount) Apparently, I wasnt the only one, because there were quite a few Disney Store bags floating around the mall.
I will miss the store, even though it was one I frequented less often- I mostly made the trip down to King of Prussia Mall, since the store there is alot larger and has alot more to choose from.
I do want to say the Cast has been doing a great job through all of this, and continued to make the store just as magical as it was before the announcement that they were closing. Im very sorry so many will be losing their jobs.

Nothing like the mention that a store is closing to remind folks its been in operation. We are in the process of liquidating a store ( the whole mall is being replaced with condominiums). Since it was announced that the store is closing it has been #1 in sales for the chain. :confused3 Where were these shoppers before the mall owner decided to sell? I'm happy to hear that the new outlet stores in Lancaster and Hershey will stay open. The manager at Rockvale just transfered from Reading.

So south hills village IS NOT closing. I read on a list it was. I thought Robinson would stay open since it is newer and bigger. I live in South Fayette so I am happy to have either one.
