It’s taken a while to post as I have been very busy experimenting on people for my dissertation!! But here is our report (my partner princesskins (Katy) will write half of it) of my first visit and princesskins 5th visit. its very long i know but i had a lot to fit in(if anyone thinks i should cut it down tell me and i will sort it out :thumbsup2

The build up
Okay well it all started in the summer of 2005 me and katy had been going out for about 5months and she was telling me about Disneyland (as I had never been) and I thought it sounded quite good, not amazing but good. Anyway we wanted to go but as I had just bought myself a brand new £1600 mountain bike there was no chance!! Skip forward to October, my bday had just passed and I wanted to use some of my saving s and bday money to book a trip after much procrastinating, I eventually booked the 12-15th of December 2005 at the Sante Fe. :thumbsup2 I have to admit I wasn’t at that time chomping at the bit to get there (as I am now!). So December rolled around and by now the excitement was defiantly building. I under the advice of Katy advice had barely looked at anything to do with the parks so as not to ruin any surprise, but I was desperate to know more so I sneaked a look at some of the rides etc, after looking at the rock and rollercoaster (I love rock music and aerosmith) I couldn’t wait to try it!!. So my term at university ended and I was counting the days. I went over home from university to collect my newly ordered passport (nerve wreaking hoping it was okay!)Then onto Katy’s house and we spent the next week organising everything, she drew up a fantastic plan for what we would do and when, we waited and waited and the morning arrived, we had to be up fairly early to get to Leeds airport, but that wasn’t a problem what with Disney to look forward to!! :teeth:

The first day

so we set off for the airport with as little baggage as possible so we could forego baggage claim, arriving at the airport with hours to kill we sampled the delights of burgerking and I read stuff magazine cover to cover, eventually our flight got called and the nerves hit in, now I don’t mind flying I just don’t like it either so I spent half the time wanting to land the other half gazing in awe at the ground!!. We landed to a freezing cold Paris and we ran(literally) to the VEA bus, getting lost on the way and separated(I hate, absolutely hate lifts so I was looking for stairs while Katy went down in the lift!!) so we got on the bus and off we went. Still being new to the whole Disney thing I still wasn’t that excited, I was looking forward to rock and rollercoaster and Thunder Mountain more than anything!!

Having arrived at the hotel we checked in and Katy went off to just change some last minute money into euro……or so I thought (all shall be revealed later!) We went over to the rooms which we both agreed were really nice, unpacked and we left. By this point we were both very excited, it was like we had stepped into a little community, everyone looked happy!! We waited for the shuttle and off we went. By this time it was getting on for half past six also it was dark when we arrived, I spent the whole walk from the bus stop to the park in awe of everything!! Then the most magical moment of the holiday and one(besides my first kiss with Katy) of the most magical moment of my life, we steeped inside the park and we walked onto main street and we saw the castle…..wow just wow, I don’t think I could describe my reaction I was literally dumbstruck!! The sky was perfectly dark behind the wondrous lights of the castle, it really did look amazing. Katy having never seen this before as well was also in awe. After we got over how amazing it looked(which took sometime!) we headed further down main street for frontier land and thunder mountain, it was a truly magical experience walking along main street, which looked fantastic and very Christmassy(incidentally my favourite time of the year) the cold winter air made it seem even more like Christmas. So onto frontiertland we went, stopping many time to gaze at the castle, I think cowboys rock and I loved frontierland, my favourite of them all by far, it was very cool at night with the sights and sounds making everything feel western. I should possibly point out by this time I had already decided that I would have to come again! After only half an hour as well! So we queued up for thunder mountain, not much of a queue we got the back carriage udder advice from guidebooks, the ride set off it was fantastic, the ride itself was brilliant everything I expected and more, I am somewhat of a rollercoaster fanatic and although it wasn’t the longest or fastest I have been on it was certainly one of the most fun. The view over the park was great; at the top of the turn back towards the park we could see the castle illuminating the night sky. We got off thunder mountain looked at the picture of us (decide to leave it as couldn’t really see us at all. We headed off to the castle next and the dragon, it looked very cool and after we had looked at it for a while we headed off towards it’s a small world. I had heard stories of this being an erm strange experience so I didn’t know what to expect, I didn’t know quite what to make of it, I enjoyed it and will defiantly do it next time that’s for sure but still it was weird!!

After this we went off to look round belles Christmas village..shut unfortunately, so we headed for pirates of the Caribbean. Again a ride I was looking forward to very much. Walking through the start was very cool and I liked the theme a lot. Disneyland was so far an amazing place!! The ride itself was great, having seen the movie over the summer on DVD, Katy could point out the references for me the dog etc. we both enjoyed the ride although Katy said it wasn’t quite as good as when she had last been. By this time the park was nearly shut and was pratically empty which made it all the more special as it seemed like we had the park to ourselves!! We headed along Main Street again, Katy was checking the time a lot again all shall be revealed!! We headed over to Disney village stopping to look round the Christmas market.

I was worried about what we going to eat for tea as I like my food and my tummy was asking questions of me!! After looking round a few shops and at a few menus , with Katy again checking the time a lot, Katy stared heading towards the cinema I thought we were going to go to planet Hollywood’s or something. Katy grabbed hold of me gave me a kiss  and said surprise stood in front of buffalo bills!!!!! I was so excited you wouldn’t believe!! I had really wanted to go to BB but I didn’t really have the money for it as well as spends so it was either scrape money for meals together and no toys!! Or BB so we decided or so I thought- to forego it, how wrong I was Katy being the fantastic person she is has planned the whole thing, remember I said about her changing last minute money well it turned out she was booking the tickets!! I had no idea and was so pleased. We went inside and picked up our hats- I loved mine and still do!! And we headed towards the bar, ordered some wine and watched the band, then we sat down and enjoyed a fantastic show. it really was a 100% brilliant show it was so much fun, I loved the games at the end and we had a fantastic clown to lead out team he was really funny and the banter between him and the rivals clowns was really funny, had us in stitches at some points :rotfl: . At the end of the show we headed off back to the hotel, the first day in Disney and one of the best days of my life!!! I will never forget that day. Day two coming soon via Katy!!
