Ok, you'll have to bear with me on this report because as I mentioned in the last one, we stopped taking notes, so I'm trying to remember everything from receipts and pictures.
Having had a relatively slow day on Tuesday we were up and out of our rooms and at the gates of EPCOT well before EE at 8AM. As soon as the rope dropped we sped walked along with almost everyone else past Innoventions East and down to TT. This was the first time DW and I had ever done this and I have to say it was one of our absolute favorites! We would have ridden it more during the day but fastpasses went quickly, and we just didn't feel like waiting in line with so much else to do and see. The one problem I do have with the ride though is that they don't give you enough time to buckle your seatbelt. I'm a big fellow and it takes me more than 10 seconds to get in my seat, organize my bags, and then find the clasp for the darned buckle. If they hadn't done the seatbelt check right before they send you on the ride I probably would have gone through most of it before I got buckled in safely. After our "victory lap" we headed over to M:S. Having taken our motion sickness medicine we headed aboard. Honestly the video and sign warnings going into this ride made it sound like it was going to be a nightmare, but it was really a lot of fun. Both DW and myself followed the directions and had no problems afterwards at all. Personally, if you think you'll have trouble with this ride I'd say give it a try anyway, and just listen to the instructions and DO WHAT THEY SAY. If you do that you shouldn't have any problems. Anyway, that's enough of that. After we left M:S with some merchandise to commemorate our first successful flight we ran into the end of a performance by the JAMMitors. It was pretty cool, and I wish we had seen the whole performance. Figuring we might as well complete the east end of Future World we figured that Ellen's Energy Adventure was worth doing. Well . I'd say I was half right. Honestly I thought Ellen was great, but the ride was just too darn long.
Having done everything worthwhile on the East side (what with Wonders of Life being closed) we wandered through Innoventions East on our way to the other side. We did make two pit stops on the way, however, first at SE (oh the lure of the giant golf ball is strong) and then at the pin station to add some pins to our collection. From here was passed Innoventions West and got to see a CM demonstrating a Segway. I had read about the new Segway tour and wanted to do it, but just didn't have the money. Maybe I'll get a chance in the future. It was at least neat to actually see one of the things up close. I guess Disney is really making good use of them. We headed over to the Living Seas and lucked out to find Nemo and Coral coming out for their character greet. I'm happy to say Coral was treated much better than the last time I saw . him/her/it. The drawback was that Nemo was mostly ignored. I guess the limited way he can interact plays a big part in him being ignored. "Down" in Seabase Alpha we looked around the new Nemo inspired exhibits (boy the movie has really breathed life into this attraction), watched a dolphin demonstration, and finally saw an older CM named Ed teach some basics about SCUBA diving. Leaving Seabase Alpha we wandered over to the Imagination Pavilion to see the new version of Journey into Your Imagination with Figment. I never saw the original show, but I do think this new one is better than the one I saw on my last visit back in 2000.
After waving goodbye to Figment we decided we should make our way over to Mexico for our lunch PS at San Angel Inn. As we were crossing through the center of Epcot we stumbled onto a performance by Kristos. Now, for those of you who have never seen them, Kristos is trio of performers dressed in costumes that look like blue spider-man outfits who strike various contortionist poses. It's hard to explain but really impressive to watch. Even more impressive is the volume of hair that the female performer is able to tuck up under her mask! After the show I ended up talking with one of the performers for a bit and He told me the female performer was his MOM!?!? At 55 she is more flexible than most people ever are. Well, after taking some pictures of them we wandered off to Mexico for our lunch PS.
If you've been paying attention you'll remember in my first post that we couldn't find El Rio del Tiempo in the Mexico Pavilion? Well, we ended up having to ask directions to San Angel Inn too! I didn't realize just how big it was inside the pavilion. We went to the back where the restaurant was and discovered that I had mistaken our PS time. We missed it by a half-hour! Well despite this small setback we did end up eating here after only a short wait. We were seated back by the water and it was nice to be out of the bright sun and the heat in the middle of the day. After lunch we wandered around the shops before finally going on El Rio del Tiempo. A fun ride, and definitely something to do to cool off. As we were exiting the ride, we caught a bit of the Mariachi performance before deciding to head back into Future World. As we came back towards the fountain we noticed we had only a short wait until Kristos performed again, and much to my DW's chagrin we stayed and watched them perform. At the end of the performance when the performers take off their masks the fellow I had talked to before noticed us and gave us a wave.
We decided to hit spaceship Earth again and it was here that we had our second medical problem in two days. While getting aboard the ride I had slipped my arm around my DW's shoulder. Well, as I was doing this she leaned her head back and ended up clocking herself on my wrist. Needless to say, she was not happy and had a hell of a headache by the end of the ride. At my urging we went over to the First Aid station to get some pain relievers. I have to say the staff there couldn't have been nicer. They gave my DW some Motrin and congratulated us on our getting married. They also asked if I had gotten the official honeymoon message on our room's voice-mail. We told them we hadn't, so they called up and put it on speaker-phone so we could hear! That was so nice of them, and in a short while DW was feeling better. We decided to head over to the Land to see about riding Living With the Land, but the lines were just too long so we decided to skip it.
After our less than successful trip to the Land we decided we'd wander around the World showcase up until our PS that evening at Le Cellier, so off to Mexico again! While we were in Mexico we decided to cool off with a frozen margarita. We purchased to Fiesta margaritas and did some window shopping around the countries. Despite seeing a number of things we'd like to purchase, the only thing I did get was a large glass bear mug that I had engraved for my Best Man. I hadn't been able to get him anything before the wedding, and since he's of German heritage I thought this would be a great gift. We also took time out in Japan to look around the new Tin Toy exhibit. DW and I both though it was really cool since we are both anime fans, and a lot of the toys were inspired by classic anime. We continued on through the countries and finally arrived at Le Cellier for our dinner PS. We both really loved this restaurant. The food was fantastic, the décor was beautiful, and the staff was friendly and helpful. What was really nice was that when our desserts came out they had written "Happy Anniversary from Le Cellier" around the edge of my plate and gave us a card signed by the staff. I don't know why they thought it was our anniversary when I had said we were on our honeymoon, but it was really nice of them to do it anyway.
After dinner, we SLOWLY walked back through the world showcase, our bellies full and our bodies tired from a non-stop day in the park. We did make one pit-stop into The Art of Disney where we again saw tons of things we'd love to buy, but just didn't have money for. We did get some postcards (which we never got around to mailing) and I got two prints from Lilo and Stitch (we love this movie, and since it was the only DVD we brought we ended up watching it about 2 dozen times throughout the trip). Our purchases in hand we headed over to the buses and back to CBR to shower and get some sleep before EE at Magic Kingdom tomorrow.
Next: Day 5, Our very own Alien Encounter, or "Hey mom it's Stitch!"
