My daughter started the CP last Wednesday 8/12 and is loving it. She is at Chatham Square and we moved her in. The apartments are great. The whole schedule for the week worked well. She still had time to spend with us and do all of her scheduled things. anyone have ?'s I will miss her , but I know she is happy and in great hands. We are going down in October to see her and again New Years week so she wouldn't have to drive back to Indiana herself.

I would love to hear more details about how the week went, what was scheduled when, what part of the process parents were involved in, etc. My son is currently on his way (driving across country with his dad) and checks in on Aug 24th. He is hoping for Chatham or Patterson apartments.

Curious about how they get their work assignment? Is it a verbal notification at one of their meetings? I told him he has to text immediately to tell us! I can't wait to hear where he will be working.

I already miss him a lot but am so happy he has this opportunity. And I will get to see him in about 3 weeks when I fly down for a visit!

that's so exciting!!! Good luck to your kids!!!

I just wrapped up my first college program on August 7th and I lived in Chatham... it's really a nice place to live :) ... Patterson LOOKED nice, but i never had the chance to go in it... Vista.... well... personally, I'm not a fan.

I miss it soooooooooooooooooo much. Tell your kids to take advantage of EVERYTHING and when they get homesick, or hate their roomates or cant stand another day at work (trust me, it happens)... to keep their chin up because it WILL get better!!! :goodvibes

well let me see.....She had to check in at Vista Way on Wednesday not knowing anyone. I was a little scared that she wouldn't care for it because she left so many friends at home and her boyfriend at that. Check in is at Vista Way between 9-12. we arrived at 9 and there if specific signs that tell you which way for the students to go and which way for the parents to go. It took her around an hour to meet up with us at the parents tent. She came walking back with 3 of her 7 roommates. She met 3 girls in line and they all wanted to room together so they were assigned to a 8 roommate apartment at Chatham square. She was very happy when she met back up with us. We all got into our cars and drove to the apartment complex to unpack the girls. Later that day at 12 they had to attend a fingerprinting and disney-look check and get there work assignments. She was in quick food and service and was placed in frontier land and liberty square. she is at the dole whip stand and the toll house cookie place. both places are airconditioned which makes her happy. then at 3 there was a housing meeting to tell you what to do and expect in the apartments. Each of the 8 girls all have different roles throughout the parks. One is attractions, character attendent, hospitality, quick service, maingate, characters, merchandising, and custodial.
Thursday, she was off because she had to get her hair done. She had highlights (which she just got done a week before at $100) and now they told her that she has to be all one color. So there goes another $120 to go all brown. But she looks good because it was done at a place that disney recommended. She met up with us for a park day/night and then back to the apartment.
Friday, She had Traditions between 8 to 12 and then spent the day with the roommates and the evening with us at the Kingdom because they stayed open until 2 but then met up with the girls and ditched us. But that was ok as long as she was happy.
Saturday, another early day up to catch the bus a 6 a.m. for an 8 oclock meeting about food services until 3 oclock. and then the evening with us and we had to say goodbye. It was sad buy I knew we would see her again in October for a week.
Sunday, there was another meeting from 8 to 3 called Once upon a Time......
Monday, yesterday, was her first day on the job at the kingdom from 3 to 12
Tuesday, at the kingdom from 3 to 11.
Wednesday she is off. Yeah!! she has to catch up on laundry and study her books from the meetings.
Thursday and friday and Saturday day shift. I call her or she calls me everyday and she loves it. Her bosses are great and Its the best experience. Any other ?'s let me know>>>>>>>>>

Sounds like she's having a good time!!! I miss chatham so much!!! I had a 4 bedroom, too. They are really nice apartments:) Living with 7 other girls can get a littttttle crazy at times, haha :)

And she works at the dole whip location?!? Dole whips became my favorite disney food when i was down there. I'm quite jealous!!!!

Glad everything went well for you! I believe I spoke to you when you were preparing for this big adventure. You summarized the happening of check in day very well. We actually got there at 8:00 and had to wait for like 5-10 minutes then they let us in to check in. My DD has been there since the beginning of June and wants to extend already. She works costuming (entertainment) and loves it. She works HS and does have longer hours, 8am-6:30p, or 1p-9p. The part she likes most is the friendships she has made with other CM's for she does not work with the public at all. She works inside mainly all the time and that is another plus. We are going to visit her in 7 days :yay: and out of the 8 days we are there, they gave her all but one off. Granted she worked 7 in a row before we get there and probably will do the same when we leave. She loves to work though so that doesn't bother her. The experience is what you make it. Now I am just wondering if I am going to lose my other daughter to Disney when we go down to visit her sister...app's go up soon so I'm told.

My DD started in June also and we leave in 8 days to spend 5 days with her.
She's working 10 days straight in order to get those days off, just the way it worked out.

DD was a CP in entertainment costuming, but at the MK. She just went seasonal last week.... She is outside most of the day, and the Aug heat is BAD! She starts work on the Halloween parade soon, so at least it will be cooler in the evening! She lived at both Chatham and Patterson. ( when you extend, you have to move!) She preferred Chatham because it has a bus stop and Patterson does not.
