Our completely unpredictable PTR- WDW with Autism May 25-31

It's only logical to celebrate Mommy on Mother's Day, not in a couple weeks at Disney!! So sweet!

Kinda crazy but it just occurred to me that I have our Epcot day scheduled for Monday. We want to get a pearl and a setting for each of us girls, does anyone know if its ready the same day? We leave the next day and I want to make sure we have time to get it.

For months, we have planned and changed plans and changed plans, and while we still dont have it all ironed out, we atleast have our cast finally chosen. WE ALL WILL BE GOING, INCLUDING SPENCER!! YEAH!!!

As for our trip planning, I have decided to completely scrap my plans. I know crazy but my family doesnt want to cooperate and I honestly do not know if Luke will be able to handle all day in the parks. Instead, I am going with everyone's must do's and if we have time for more, great! I am also thinking seriously about adding the park hopper option. I have always thought it would be a waste of money for us because I didnt think we would use it but I really dont know? Do you all park hop? How easy is it to do with disney transportation? I am thinking one day using it from MK to Epcot and possibly on my DHS SWW day because I really dont see Luke doing the crowds well. I also would love to do the Epcot EMH on Friday. Stephen and I love Epcot and the kids not so much so it would be great if we could do world showcase after Luke went to bed one night. Plus Jess wants alone time. It sounds weird but she really does not do well with ppl all the time. Having a few hours alone in the hotel to read would be great for her. What do you all think? To park hop or not, that is the question

YAY FOR SPENCER!!! :woohoo:

We have never purchased PH's before, however, we haven't had a need for them. If you think you'll get your monies worth, then go for it! It may be a great way to change up things if anyone gets overstimulated from a certain park.

If you do PH with Disney Trasnport, I'd recommend taking the bus back to the hotel and maybe chilling out for a bit before heading back out. Take a dip in the pool or just put your feet up. It will give everyone time to clear their head and relax a bit. But that's just my suggestions. (Actually, its what I would do.)

I'm sure others can offer up better advice, though. :thumbsup2

Hurray for Spencer!! My teen park hops whenever he goes with friends. The rest of us tend to spend time at only 1 park at a time. The park hopping option can be great if you get to a park and it's too crowded so you can leave and check out another. Or if it's empty you can stay and cover alot of territory in a short time. I think this option would be great for SSW.

Thanks guys. Tink that is what I am afraid of. I do not mind going back to the resort on those days but I fear that Luke might want get bored after a few hours in the hotel but if the parks get to crowded, I cant see us staying for long periods. Also, if Luke gets up early, he and I may do some morning EMH. Last trip, he and I woke up early on our own. It was the rest of our family that wanted sleep. I just dont want us to be tied down to one park but it is about $200 more for us. I am waiting on Stephen to tell me his thoughts when he gets home from work, but I think we might go with it, just in case.

That is quite a bit of money to pay for more flexibility.

It is and I am still up in the air on it. I love the idea of being able to make changes if needed but I dont like the $$$. Those are $$$ that can be spent somewhere else. Stephen thinks since we have already spent a great deal, it is not that much in comparison if it takes some stress off, not sure that it will tho. I tend to be a stressed individual, lol.

Best wishes in making your decision!

I just updated my TR/PTR with info about shopping for SSW.

Luke is too funny. He just asked me if we could x off all of the days on our countdown calendar. I said we already did our x for today. He said I know but when we get to 1 we get to go and I want to go now! :rotfl2: Sounds good to me!!!

Honestly if I was in your situation I would go with the PHs. That way if things start getting a little overwelming in one of the parks for Luke you have to option to head to another park. Also remember that this in not a decision you have to make now. From my understanding if you can upgrade to the PH option at any time you are down there. That means if you are at the first park and decide it is to much you can add on the the PH's, head to the resort for a swim or nap, and than head to another park later.:thumbsup2

I know spending the extra money sucks, but sometimes it is worth it.

Another hitch in our trip...

Day 3 of Luke taking a higher dose of seizure meds and he is falling asleep on me! Yesterday and the day before, he was tired but awake, today, he is napping at 10am. Not sure what to do to keep him awake at the world. I am going to have to figure out something though. I dont want him to sleep through Disney!

It's possible that with everything going on at WDW, it may over stimulate him and he'll be fine. My fingers are crossed anyway. And if nothing else, hoping he'll get adjusted to the meds and can stay awake longer.

Keep us posted on how he's doing! Sending "awakening" :goodvibes his way!

Oh no! So sorry to hear this. Those seizure meds are so tricky to work out. And what a time to change doses just before your trip. Have you talked to his doc to see if you should be concerned or if this is just a normal response to a change in dose?
