It's Christmas eve, and we're Fedexing our paperwork this morning! Glory be!
Folks, understand that we took our first look at DVC in 1993. We put it off. Then, we had sent in our deposit in April of this year, only to cancel it within 10 days. Right after our deposit went in, my mom, a widow, was diagnosed with an agressive form of cancer. She had about six month. Tough on this only child! About the same time, DS entered the Marine Corps. Seemed like the timing, the whole deal was just wrong.
So, check this out: DS graduated boot camp in October, is currently at Camp Pendleton, CA, having the time of his life. He's upstairs, still snoozing, right now. Mamma, in one of those absolute God-things, responded to her treatment like a champ and the amazed doctor pronounced her "cancer free." He's still scratching his head, but WE understand what happened! She's in our kitchen right now whipping up some bacon, eggs, grits, biscuits, the whole deal. She loves feeding us and the grandkids. Then, I got an amazing raise, and ...
With nary a thought otherwise, we called our guide (bless you, Megan! You're the best!), sent in our deposit, and decided that for our family and for the future, it was the right and proper thing to do.
Don't welcome us home quite yet ... I'll believe that this is the fruition of an eight-year dream when we actually close.
After that, PLEASE welcome us home. Sorry about being so presumptuous here, but, man alive, has this been a journey.
As Tiny Tim said, "God bless us ... every one!"
