OUR BEST DISNEY VACATION YET(8/22-9/1) At the BEACH CLUB w/ MORE pics-NOW COMPLETE

What a great trip! I love your pics! I agree with you about Wishes I get teary eyed watching it between the fireworks and the music and the castle and tinkerbell. You just brought me back to my happy place just reading about it, now I can go to bed with dreams of disney! I look forward to reading more about your trip!

Hi, what a great upgrade to concierge :) your trip report is bringing back a lot of memories from when I stayed there.

Did you make it to Beaches & Cream? looking forward to reading more.

Anne Marie,
This is so much fun to share your trip I'm up at 12:30 am (I should be sleeping, work at 0800) and I'm bummed you stopped at day 7... What type of camera do you use? Your pictures are wonderful!

I understand you about people who say "didn't you just go to Disney?" DH and I are planning to join the DVC next year (should have 8 years ago). We'll never grow tired of it either. Are you a DVC owner? We are trying to decide between Beach Club and Boardwalk.

Take care....yawn...waiting for the rest of your report....

we were at the BC concierge till Aug 23, then moved over to the Poly
till the 28th.

Muffycat,

I stayed at the POLY last trip and really loved it. Am going solo to BC water view this November. It will be my first tirp to BC. How did the two compare for you? What did you love about the BC? What about POLY? I have wanted to go to the BC for a long time, but am hoping I won't be sorry for not going to the POLY!

subscribing I leave in less than a week and am getting excited by reading trip reports THIS ONE IS GREAT give me more!!! :thumbsup2

Yes, we did get to Beaches & Cream. Unfortunately we only had ice cream & not a whole meal there. The ice cream was delicious!!! I was surprised how small it was but we were seating right away.

I am so glad you are enjoying it. I have an old Canon $100 camera. 35 mm film not digital. I dropped it 2x at Disney & the body is cracking so we will have to break down & get a digital this Christmas.

No, not a DVC owner. I should have joined 6 trips ago,,,I would be all paid up now...we have taken the tour & I love the BC & the BW...both are great.

Just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone for all your lovely comments!!! I should have day 8 with pix tomorrow. Again, thanks for reading along. :)

DAY 8 - AUGUST 29
By now we had realized that a wake up call wasn’t necessary since the parks were not super crowded so we slept in until 8am. After another yummy breakfast we were off to the Magic Kingdom. (We were absolutely loving the concierge breakfast. We got spoiled real fast. On my first morning back home in NY, I was shocked that no one had placed bagels, pastries, fruit, & brewed coffee in my kitchen :lmao: You mean I have to make it myself now? :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: )
Anyway we were on the bus & at Magic Kingdom by 9am or so.

This morning was lovely. It was hot for sure...I think around 90-95 degrees and just a few puffy white clouds in the sky. The castle was glistening with its gold decorations.
(Hey, honey where's your matching Mickey shirt? :teeth: )

I gave the kids their own disposable cameras to take to Disney. When I had them developed I gave the kids a small photo album (4x6) & a batch of Disney stickers. They decorated their albums & put their pictures inside. I thought they would like this but I didn’t realize how much. All of them brought their albums to school to show their classmates & teachers. They seem to be very proud of their creations & that the pictures in the album were taken by them & from their prospective. As adults, I think we sometimes miss the details & I found that to be true when looking through my kids photos. For example, Daniel (my 7 year old) took several shots in front of the castle. He took a picture of every little statue around the Partners statue. I knew they were there but never really looked at them. Like the great Ferris Bueller once said, “If you don’t stop and look around you might miss something.” Here are some of Daniel’s photos from that morning.

We got a lot done. Walked onto Pooh, Teacups, Peter Pan, Philharmagic, IASW, & Snow White.
WDW2006-129.jpg

We had lunch at Cosmic Rays at around 11:30am. We got a seat right in front of Cosmic Ray. The kids loved his “show” & his corny jokes. Hamburgers, chicken strips, fries, & more chocolate & carrot cake were what we ate. Again too much dessert so we gave 3 cakes away. After lunch we got a seat to see Belle’s story time. Being 5 years old, Sophie is obsessed with the princesses & was hoping to be picked to help in the show. Katie had been chosen twice before once when she was 4 & then again at 7 & had described being Chip & Mrs. Potts to Sophie. Katie thinks she’s too old to go up & Daniel being a 7 year old boy wanted nothing more than to be a spectator. So who got picked? Yep, Daniel… Oh boy he wasn’t thrilled with that. He went up very hesitantly. I told him he didn't have to go but he went. Poor Belle tried to get him to speak but there was no way...boy, did they pick the wrong boy to be Gaston.
I felt bad for Daniel & for Belle & her assistants. He was so embarrassed & nervous that they let him get off the stage early & finish the show without him. We all gave him a big hug but next time I’ll have him sit behind me so Belle doesn’t even see him. Even his sisters gave him a high-five for getting up there...they knew he was scared.

WDW2006-153.jpg

So with that experience behind us we went over to Tomorrowland.
WDW2006-131.jpg

We rode the TTA to relax & cool off.
WDW2006-130.jpg

Walked on Buzz 3 times. On our way over to Adventureland I finally got to have my very first Dole Whip float…OMG was that good! All you people on the DIS who rave about it were right! All the kids got ice creams. DH & I enjoyed our Dole Whip floats (DH couldn’t believe that was now a snack credit! Awesome! :thumbsup2 ) We sat across from Aloha Isle just people watching & eating our treats. There was a young lady next to us who was being watched by security because she was having symptoms of dehydration. She was in jeans & wasn’t even sweating. They got her a cup of water & were going to take her to a cool rest area so she would be O.K. It was hot & what people say is true…you must drink a lot, carry a mister-fan & take a rest during the day.

So now we were off to Frontierland & hoping to cool off at Splash. Splash Mountain is the best! We rode twice & got the 2 front rows each time. No wait! Didn't even need a FP! We got soaked both times which was just what we wanted. This was the hottest day so far & getting wet was just the thing.

WDW2006-140.jpg

After riding POC again & getting another Dole Whip float  we headed out of the MK by 5pm. It was a real scorcher but the crowds were light so we really enjoyed the day & now the kids were anxious to get to the pool. So back to the Beach Club, dress for the pool, run downstairs & what happens??? It starts to pour! So we hang around the lobby for a while but it wasn’t letting up any. After about 30 minutes of the kids watching old Mickey cartoons on the lobby T.V. & DH & I on the couch holding pool noodles we gave up. I walked over to Cape May to see if I could get a dinner reservation for the clam bake dinner & sure enough they could seat us right away. We ran upstairs to get cover-ups & came back down for a yummy dinner. We don’t eat seafood but there was plenty for us to choose from. Steak & mushroom stew, mashed potatoes, prime rib, salads, cole slaw, corn on the cab, pasta, & ribs. Pizza, chicken, & macaroni & cheese for the kiddies. Desserts were good. We were stuffed but managed to get in a little cheesecake. The tables at Cape May buffet are covered by large white paper & the kids are given crayons so they can color right on the table which my guys thought was cool!
Now we are all feeling fat so what else do you do but go swimming? :teeth: The rain had stopped so we headed off to SAB. Not one second before we were about to go in by the sand bottom section that we heard
“Pools closed!” What??? Not again!

WDW2006-10.jpg

Well they had found a biological hazard from a toddler’s diaper  in the main part of SAB but the shipwreck area was open so we headed over there. The shipwreck kiddie pool is great because the water slide is small & good for little kids. Katie, Daniel, & Sophie must have gone down that slide 100 times!

WDW2006-12.jpg

The sun was now starting to set behind the Boardwalk. The sky was streaked with pink, red, & light blue with the lighthouse in the foreground. The pool closed at 8pm so decided to call it a night. We all showered quickly & I & the kids stood on the balcony in our jammies to watch Illuminations. DH was inside watching the weather channel. Tropical storm Ernesto was supposed to go over Florida the next day.

Hi, Utahmama!

Loving your reports! the toxic bundle was hysterical. I was a little confused by your saying that breakfast didn't magically appear once you were home from BC! It was my understanding that part of the concierge thingy was that you were supposed to have breakfast for 187 days after you were back home.... Did you do something to tick off the concierge pixies??? LOL Sounds like you are having a wonderful trip. I look forward to hearing more!

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: I like that idea!!!!

Great Trip Report!!!! We too love Beach Club and are dismayed that SAB closes at 8PM. Otherwise, a great resort and close to our favorite park, EPCOT.

What a great trip report. I love all the pictures. You have adorable kids and they look so happy!!! This is just getting me more excited about our upcoming trip. I can't wait to read more. :)

great TR!!
we were right across the water from you, at the BWV.
sooooo, one day we stopped in to say "hi" to a certain DIS *fairy*, & she told us of the *pixie dust* she had surprised you with (dunno who was more excited about it ~ her or you!! ;) hearing it brought tears to my eyes ..... :) ).

sorry we didn't actually get to meet you, but
glad you had a great time, & congrats on your anniversary!!

:sunny:

I had to reply...I love your trip report. The first time we took our kids to WDW in 1998, we gave them both disposible cameras too. My DD, then age 7, did the same thing at the partners statue!! She took pictures of each of the small statues around it....and I had never noticed them before I got the film developed!!!

I don't usually read the trip reports but yours is incredible. I keep checking to see if there's more yet. :) I am hoping to stay at the BC in May and you report has really helped solidify that. Thank you
