O.K. here goes...

DEPARTURE DAY - SEPTEMBER 1
Well, here it was the day we were all dreading...the day we had to go back into the real world. Our flight was at 5:30pm so we had to be ready for ME at 3:00pm so I wanted to make the most of it. I had packed up most of our things the night before. I had brought an empty suitcase which I filled with souvenirs…annual HCOE photo album, HCOE mouse pad, HCOE CD, 2007 calendar, 20 new pins, Mickey picture frames, magnets, Mickey chocolates, light up necklaces from Spectro, our Splash Mountain ride photo, Chef Mickey photo, 2006 HCOE Christmas ornaments, & a Mickey backscratcher! As I put all of these things in the suitcase I looked back on our time at Disney. I thought about the moment we stepped into the BC & the excitement of getting to stay there for the first time. And of meeting such wonderful people at the BC, like Teena, Art, & Vilma who made our trip so extra magical. I thought about my DIS meeting & how cool it was to meet Beth (Bethbuchall) & Bernadette (lovesdumbo) & the surprise present from Paula (kc10family). I thought of our funny moment at Beaches & Cream where the whole place thought we were nuts. I saw my child’s faces & heard their squealing as they slide down the kiddie slide at SAB. And the look on Sophie’s face when she saw June & Quincy…and Daniel’s face when he rode Mission Space for the first time...and Katie face when she was on Splash. Mountain…and DH’s face when he got his first look at his Spaten in Biergarten! :drinking1 :lmao: All good memories now.

Now that all our things were packed & ready to go, we went down to Cape May for our last character meal of the trip. Goofy, Minnie, Chip, & Dale were all there in their beach attire. The food was delicious! We had eggs, Mickey waffles, fresh fruit, yogurt, bacon, sausages, biscuits & gravy. I loved the cherry danish! Yum! Cape May was bustling at 9am. First Minnie stopped by in her beach wear.

Then Chip & Dale came by for a picture.

Goofy had come by once before but he came around a 2nd time to see Sophie drawing a picture of him on the (paper) tablecloth. She showed him her drawing & he hugged her. Goofy was so much fun at this breakfast. After seeing Sophie’s artwork, he came over & sat with the girls & pretended that he was tired so he wanted to take a nap! They giggled & Goofy spent more time with my kids than any other character during our stay. They absolutely loved the attention. I was so glad I had booked this breakfast! (& Goofy IS my favorite!)

After breakfast we called bell service to take the luggage & went to flight check in downstairs to get our boarding pass for the flight home. We did not have any more park days on our tickets so the plan was to do some more swimming before we had to go. We got into our swimsuits, sprayed on the sunscreen & said goodbye to our lovely room. Off to the pool. It was sunny, hot & beautiful. The pool was not crowded. There was a gentleman (BC staff) who made sandcastles with the kids, played volleyball, & Marco Polo with them. They had a great time! There was going to be a treasure hunt at 3pm which he encouraged the kids to join however by then we would be on ME heading back to the airport. :sad1: I knew getting the kids out of the pool (& getting me out of the pool for that matter!) was not going to be easy, Fortunately it started to pour like crazy about 15 minutes before we had to get out & they closed the pool due to lightening...hey that was easy! I ran the kids into the bathroom to change into their clothes & put all the wet bathing suits in a big ziploc. We grabbed some lunch at the marketplace since we had some CS left over. Turkey wraps & diet Pepsi. We also had to eat a couple of Mickey bars to use up our snack credits. (oh that was so difficult! :teeth: ) Anyway the bus was outside & so we shoved some more Mickey bars in out mouth, gathered our carry ons, & went to the bus. As we exited, I turned around to get my last look at the BC lobby. The bus wasn’t a ME bus but rather a Mears bus. :worried: The driver didn’t turn on the movie for the ride or talk. Not as magical as when we were coming to Disney that’s for sure. Back to the real world!!! We boarded & were on our way. As we passed the gates of the Disney property we all knew the vacation was over, but what a great vacation we had!! I took time to thank God for my beautiful, healthy, & loud :hyper2: family & for the time with them on this magical Disney vacation. Especially for my wonderful DH  who listens (or pretends he is listening! :rotfl: ) when I talked about which rides to do & in what order, the art of using FP, went on endlessly about what everyone says on the DIS & TGM, & specifics about ride capacities & when they were updated last.
He also humors me & says "When we come next year..." Gotta love that man!!!!

Well the kids started school a few days after we got home but we are still on a Disney high. Every night we listen to the music from our HCOE cd & talk alittle about our trip. Hopefully we will get to go again next summer.

Thank you all for reading my report. I had fun doing it & it forced me to remember more details than I had for any trip before.

Now, with my report completed I have to...

I have been dreading your last day. :sad2: I have really enjoyed the stories and we are almost booked for BCV for May. I am way way excited and I thank you for that. I know it takes a lot of time to write it out and add pictures so thanks for taking that time and sharing.

Thank you so much for your report! We haven't been in the parks for almost two years (did the Cruise in February for my daughter's 16th birthday) so it helped me "remember the magic". Hoping to go in June '07 and seriously considering BCV. We haven't stayed at the Y&BC since the girls were little. Your report made me think back to all our trips when they were younger. Luckily, even though they are now 20, 16, and 12, they still enjoy Disney as much as they did then and are sharing their love of Disney with best friends and boyfriends. Thanks again for helping me through my "withdrawals". :)

I was sad to read the end of your trip report because I felt the same way 3 weeks ago when we checked out of Poly :sad2: I want to try Beach club and Cape May Cafe looks nice too. We love Beaches & Cream already. Loved your pictures and your kids are adorable. Where in NY are you from? WE are from NJ until we moved to TN last July. Missing the north a bit.

Yea, I just have to get a digital camera soon. I had to scan each picture in, save it to my pictures, upload to photobucket, resize it, & then copy to my post. It's got be to easier with a digital...right?
Thanks!!!!!

By the way ...Book!!! Book BCV now!!! I wish I knew about the DVC 6 trips ago & purchased at the BCV. Thanks again for reading.

Your last day made me remember mine. :sad2: I still haven't even started a trip report. Maybe it's time...if I can remember that long ago. It would be fun to relive our vacation!

It was great meeting you, too!!!

I am so glad you are passing the magic to your kids!! It is great to hear that even if they get older they still love Disney.

Thanks so much for your comments & I am glad you enjoyed the report.

Cape May was nice...we did both breakfast & dinner there & it was great.
We are from Long Island. What do you miss from the north? We always talk about moving south someday. It's too cold here in the winter & the taxes are too high! Less taxes = more trips to Disney! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Thanks for reading!!!!

Hi Beth!!!!
I knew I would not remember so each night after the kids were asleep I would make some notes. Also looking at the pictures brings me back to Disney!

Yes, yes! Please write a trip report!!

Just wanted to say that your trip report was the greatest especially since we were at the BC at the same exact time as you and your family - your report and pictures brought back some great memories - Cape May, SAB, fireworks and being so close to EPCOT. I remember the biological hazard day too - so funny now in retrospect.

We also got a great surprise and were upgraded to concierge also. Breakfast and snacks at night were so good and we felt so spoiled by the Disney Magic.

Maybe we'll be there next year - same time? Again - thanks for the wonderful trip report.

Betty

Wow, that's cool! It was a great week weather-wise too huh?
I'd love to be there the same time next year..saving our pennies!!!!

Thanks!

I really enjoyed your trip report, and took a few notes of things not to miss when we go later this year. My son is always talking about being a magician, and I didn't know there was a magic show, and all the great things for kids to do at Epcot. I loved all your beautiful pictures. They really make a trip report come to life. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you!!!

Just wanted to mention that I do not know if Mickey's Magic Show is still running. It was part of the magical beggings show at MGM thing that they were running while we were there..(they also had the Wiglgles, Danny Zanes & friends, & the Doodlebops. Not sure if they are continuing the magic show though? Anyone who knows, please post.

There really is alot for kids to do at EPCOT! I hope you have a great trip & post a report for us to read! Thanks again.
