Our Anniversary Trip/Honeymoon-Redo

OKay I am on yours now too! As much as I love going with my kids, I miss those days when it was just me and DH. I'm sure we'll have a night or 2 this time that my parents will stay with the kids and we can go back out and be kids ourselves:laughing:
I think your fine waiting to book your room, airfare is probably more important. We stayed at POR in 2002 and loved it, I'm sure you'll love the FQ too. And I think your right for booking a mod, when you think about how much time you are in your room, I think it's wise to spend that $ elsewhere.

Happy planning!

Hi- I found this link throught the "funniest comments" thread and thought I'd come over to read about the honeymoon mishap. OMG, you must have been in a panic when you got the call from your soon-to-be-DH! Once when I was going to Europe with a friend, my passport somehow dropped under the seat I was waiting in in the departure lounge. LUCKILY, my friend noticed, otherwise there would have been some panicking!

I'm glad to hear that everything got sorted out and that you guys are able to make it away for a "real" honeymoon.:woohoo: I'll be following this one!

Okay so I haven't wrote in here for a while, mostly because I wrote started it REALLY early.

My parents called the other day and actually said they aren't coming to Disney with us now. They instead are going to take a cruise. Which is totally fine with my husband and I. It would have been fun having them tag along, but it will be nice being just the two of us as well. We won't have to worry about making anyone else happy. Plus my dad thought it was stupid of us to make our ADR's so early... he just wanted to show up and eat wherever he wanted. Haha he didn't quite get it. So now we won't have to try to 'pretend' to be flying by the seat of our pants so he didn't get all huffy. :)

We still haven't booked yet though, we are waiting for our Chase Disney Visa to come in the mail. We should be getting it soon though then we will be booking. We aren't 100% sure where we are staying yet though. We were confident in POFQ when my parents were going, but now that it is totally up to us we are still deciding. I think we may go with the WL which is where I originally wanted to do, but my parents didn't.

I would love to do the CR but the hubby doesn't want to dish out that much, so I think I'll just try for WL... though I may even have to talk him into that! lol

I'll post some more of our details here in a bit. I'm excited to actually be close enough to really make this a pre-trip report!

So here is the plan thus far:

If there is a P&PP Tuesday night May 6th, we are going to get tickets for that. We aren't checking into our hotel until the 7th though, so we would stay offsite really cheap somewhere the night of the 6th.

Wednesday May 7th
Check-in Early
, leave our stuff with them because our room won't be ready when we get there (probably around 7:00AM)
Magic Kingdom at Opening
CS for lunch
Venture over to the Grand Floridian Cafe for our 5 ADR, at the Grand Floridian resort, explore a little
Head back to MK and stick around until wishes at 9

Thursday May 8th
Epcot
Arrive for opening
CS for lunch
Le Cellier for dinner at 5
Stay for Illuminations at 9

Friday May 9th
MGM (DHS whatever it is)
Get there around opening at 9
Sci-Fi lunch at 11:30
Stick around until Fantasmic which is at 9

Saturday May 10th
Sleep in a little (about an hour later than the other days)
Blizzard Beach- opens at 10
Stick around until we are done, play a game of mini-golf at the one outside of the waterpark
Head to DTD for something to eat for dinner and go to Disney Quest
Head back to the hotel whenever we feel like it

Sunday May 11th Mother's Day
Sleep in
Head to Epcot when we get up
Spend the day taking it easy at Epcot
Teppen Edo for dinner at 6 (we originally had this because my mom was with us, but we are still keeping it because I want to eat here... and because well I am hoping to become a mother on this trip! lol)
Head to DTD or go back to the resort for a low-key evening

Monday May 12th Our Anniversary!!
Magic Kingdom
Get there around opening again
CS for lunch
California Grill for dinner at 8:00
Watch Wishes from the top of CG which are at 10
Go back to our resort

Tuesday May 13th
Animal Kingdom in the morning
Stay until about 12:45-1ish
Lunch at WCC at 2
Then we haven't decided what to do, maybe go to DTD or just spend our last night at the resort, or maybe go to MK and just enjoy it for what it is and not try to ride or anything unless we see something with a really short wait and just walk around enjoying it. (it closes at 7 that night though)

Wednesday May 14th
We leave this morning, so if we didn't go to MK the night before we may check out and go stroll there just until lunch, or we may just take a last swim at the resort and head out, depends on how tired we are. Also we aren't getting much time at AK (last time I was there in 2003 we only spent half a day there and that was enough for us, but there also wasn't EE then either). So we may go to AK this morning if we want.

It's pretty busy I know, but we are in our early 20's and pretty outgoing so I think we will be fine. Plus if we get tired, we will just change it up a bit :cool1:

Woo hoo!

I think we have decided on WL and actually we are going to go with the dining package. Matt wanted to do POFQ with Deluxe Dining package, but I think I have him with me for WL and regular dining package.

So we are just waiting on our Disney Visa to get here to book it!

Just wanted to let you know I'm here...will read your PTR later tonight! Thanks for letting me know!:goodvibes

Thanks for reading!:cool1:

As far as new info, we still are waiting for that stinking Disney Visa to come in the mail. I dk what the deal is, it should be here any day now. We have really good credit so it has nothing to do with that, but who knows what the deal is.

Also here is another issue. We are currently looking at a job in Florida, about 30 mins from the World. If we get the job, we will in turn get APs and our trip will change a ton because we wouldn't be staying in a resort yada yada. But the job possiblity is still in the early stages so nothing set in stone or anything.

I hope you guys to stay at the WL on your trip. My family, including my DH and 2 DDs, along with my parents are staying at the WL May7th-10th. :cool1:

We have never been to the WL but my DH and I honeymooned at the GF in 2001:goodvibes

I hope you and your husband have a wonderful time.

Great start to your report!

That story about the passports is funny -- not if it was happening to me though! :lmao:

You guys are a very cute couple!!

I HIGHLY recommend staying on site, even if it's only for 1 or 3 days (assuming you live 30 min away by then). It will feel more like a honeymoon/anniversary if you can keep the magic going 24/7.

I've been to almost all the resorts now and definitely like them all (of course, I have a bias toward the deluxe's but even the moderates are good, esp POFQ). We had a family gathering at POFQ and had a wonderful time -- esp as you can pool hop to POR and taking the boat to DTD was like a ride in itself.

We did 2007 dining plan and found that it was a LOT of food -- all good and most of them were excellent! I found that the regular plan was perfect for us b/c we didn't need to eat at more than one TS each day. In fact, on past trips, we'd only eat at a TS every other day, so having the DDP is a treat for us. We'll do it again in May but bummer it doesn't include Tip and apps.

When I finally get my PTR going and pull out my schedule, I'll compare to yours -- would love to say hello in person for 2 minutes if we happen to be in the same park, same time, passing by each other.

OK, my reply is long enough now! :goodvibes

Are you going to wear Mickey/Minnie Wedding Ears?? With the YOMD going on, I definitely would!!!

Wow I almost forgot I had this! I haven't updated in a while because.... we got our job in Florida that we were interviewing for! So we will be living like 30 mins from Disney. We do not move though until mid-June so we won't be there for our anniversary now because it would be silly to spend all that money on a trip when we will be moving down there a month from then.

:cool1: Yay! I've been reading your repot and definitely haven't forgotten about you guys. Congrats on the job!
