Hi everyone!! I thought maybe I should start one of these to help me straighten our plans out and make our plans better :

Sorry if this first post is a little long, I want you to fully understand why this trip is going to be so exciting (hehe aren't they for everyone?!) Also sorry for anything that is not spelled correctly :(

First off I'll tell you a little about us:
The Cast:
Me: Jacklynn (20) The Princess :princess:
Well because I am the princess...
DH: Matthew (22 in a few days... on thanksgiving!) Goofy :goofy:
Mostly because he is well goofy! This will be his FIRST EVER trip

We will be at Disney May 7th-May14th. We are actually looking into post college graduation jobs in a town called Lake Wales which is a little south of Disney, so if we get the job we will drive a moving truck down there with our car in tow, drop our stuff off, and go. If we don't get the job we will either drive down (we don't mind driving) or fly down.

Where? Well either POFQ or WL... I'm for sure voting for WL but I dk if Goofy will go for that. Actually if it was up to me I'd do CR with theme park view... but we are a little too poor for that :) WL is much cheaper and is also a Deluxe.

OKAY so now the exciting part! Why?

Well :goofy: and I got married back on May 12th of this year. We celebrated our 6 year dating anniversary 2 weeks before our wedding. We are young as you can tell, but we had been dating for so long we saw no reason to wait, plus we both graduate from college this may. (From Olivet Nazarene University, near Chicago, IL).

So this trip is partially a finally graduated from college trip, but there is also another reason.

We were all scheduled and paid for a honeymoon in the Riviera Maya about an hour south of Cancun, Mexico at an all-inclusive resort. We had airfare paid for, resort paid for, transportation to/from the resort paid for and were REALLY excited. We booked the trip in November (2006) before the wedding in May and put a lot of planning and research into it. We had our passports back (this is when the passports processing was really far behind because of new laws making you get one to fly to/from Mexico)

So why is my title about a honeymoon mix-up? Well lets just say that at about 1:00pm on the day before the wedding, a few hours before the rehearsal dinner, Matt (My DH) calls me and asks if I have seen his passport... I'm sure you can see where this is going. I say I haven't and we get off the phone. About an hour later he calls me pretty upset saying he thinks he accidentally threw it away. Come to find out when he cleaned out his truck the tuesday before it was stuck between some papers that got thrown out. At least this is the best explaination we have up to this point.

Well his passport was never found. We couldn't get him a new passport in under 24 hours. I was very upset. Not angry, I was just like how can this happen?! Soooo the morning of the wedding, Matt booked a hotel in Clearwater Beach, FL. We ended up driving 17 hours down there from my parents house the day after the wedding. We enjoyed our trip, but because of everything that happened it wasn't really a honeymoon to us. I mean don't get me wrong, we had a blast, but like I said it wasn't really a honeymoon. We really just hung out at the beach and had a few dinners. We of course didn't have time to make any plans down there, and to me planning is half the fun! Thankfully we got everything but $600 back thanks to our travel agent... we cancelled less than 36 hours out!

Soooo while I told DH that I forgive him and that all is well, he says that he won't ever forgive himself until he can give me a real honeymoon. Guess where we are going?! Now we did decide to invite my parents, which may seem odd, but we are pretty close to them, and while we will be together sometimes, we will be pretty much doing our own planning and doing our own thing. Besides I enjoy my parents and we have a lot of fun with them. And like I said if we only visit the same park with them a few times, hey that's cool. We will regroup together at night and chat :)

Last..... we may be trying for a little souvenir.... We want kids young (both of our parents did), and now is better than any time for us. This will depend though if we have gotten jobs for after graduation though... jobs mean baby, no jobs well... that means a baby later haha

Later.... my plans so far
Sorry this was so long!!! I hope you enjoy reading about my Second/Real honeymoon/Anniversary trip haha!

I just signed up for TGM not too long ago... as in tonight, so I am going to scout that out first before I tell what I thought was going to be my plans :) I'll see how they compare!

I do know though that for our anniversary, on May 12th, we plan on going to the Cali. Grill! I still need to make that ADR though. Time for serious planning!

Here is what I am thinking so far as far as what parks what day, and where we will eat.

I have to called to try to get ADRs tomorrow, so we will see if some of it needs to change

?

Disney is great for anniversaries...we will be there in less then two weeks to celebrate our 11 wedding anniversary.

We are also going to California Grill for our anniversary dinner (dropping our DD off at the babysitting club they have at Beach Club).

Cannot wait to read more on what you have planned.

Do not forget will be there for the Flower and Garden Show at Epcot. It is really nice.

I'm pretty excited about the Cali. Grill. I'm still not sure what time I should make my ADR though, I think we want to eat and get back to magic kingdom in time to watch Wishes from there...

Also! I didn't realize that there was a resort on Disney for military families! I just learned of Shades of Green. My dad is retired from the army, so we are going to look into this and see if we might like this better for the price :)

I think we are going to hit the ground running about looking into the shades of green resort, anyone had any experiences with the resort before?

I am calling to make some ADRs today!

I'll join....I love hearing about honeymoons...even if they are a year later. DH and I went to St Lucia for ours...though I tried to get him to go to Disney. I finally got him there this past Sept...after 3 yrs of marriage. We too hoped for a Disney souvenior but it did not happen and thats ok...there is always another time.

I just called to make another ADR! I wasn't sure were we were going to eat May 11th, which is Mother's Day, but my mother (who remember will be with us) said she wanted Teppan Edo, so I made a 6:00 ressie for four. Actually I was really surprise, I called expecting to have to just take whatever time they had left, and she was like well what time do you want, and when I said 6, she said okay, we have you in at 6. I was just surprised with it being mother's day and all.

Maybe it is a sign of low crowds!!

Okay so there may be a few changes...

First, I think we may now be staying at POFQ.... I know we keep changing our mind, we need to hurry up and make the ressies so we can't!! But my parents decided against the Shades of Greens, and my dad said "I dont want to stay at the Value where there are 23994580293485 kids running around screaming..." haha so it looks like a Mod for us... and probably POFQ

Also the other change, my dad doesn't want to from the 7th-14th... he doesn't want to do Wed-Wed and he doesn't have a lot of vacation time. He also doesn't want to go for that long anyways...He seems to think that is too much time... anyways, I think my husband and I are going to still go on the 7th, and then my parents may fly in either Thursday night after work or Friday night after work and join us at that point. That way if they fly in Friday evening he would only have to take like 4 day off work, if he wanted to work the next Friday...

Anyways, so what has been your experiences with the PO resorts? Have you heard one is better? I know POR is more spread out and POFQ is closer but other than that, what differences are there? I'm leaning towards POFQ but I am up to suggestions of course :)

Hi! We're in a suburb of Chicago!

We have been to both POR and POFQ and we decided we like POFQ better because it is smaller and we liked the pool better. But it was a difficult decision...I mean POR has the TS place and the food court is bigger at POR than at POFQ. We stayed in the mansions at POR and thought the other section seemed far from the main building. Both are great though, you'll love whichever you end up choosing!

And like someone else said, don't miss the Flower & Garden show at Epcot while you are there...it is beautiful!

34 more days!!!

We changed our minds a million times too...probably drove our TA nuts...but it ultimately was worth it. We loved our resort (BWI)....we originally were going to do CBR.

I have GOT to book this trip, I'm making way to big of a deal about this resort thing! Its just that if I am spending this much on a vacation, I should enjoy where I am sleeping...

so I have it down to two. Everything else is out besides these two -- POFQ and WL. It really want WL but it will be decided sometime this week lol

Okay so far this is what we have going on.... I'm sure things will change. I'm not sure either if we will take these many breaks, but the people over at TGM seem to think that the more breaks the better. But with us not having kids, being in our early 20's I don't want to spend half the day at my resort...

Wednesday May 14 Check out Day
I do not really know what we will do this day yet…

I would choose WL. It's a great resort.:thumbsup2

Tell your Dad, if he wants to avoid kids, WDW is the wrong place to go.;) We stayed at BCV/BC before and walking through the lobby sometimes was like walking through an elementary school. I've stayed at Pop as well...there are more kids there.

your itinerary looks great. No park hopping though?

haha well it isn't that he wants to avoid kids, he just isn't keen on 23492304832 kids running and screaming at a pool... and that's the idea he gets about a value, we've never stayed at one so I dk if it is like that or not, but when we stayed at CBR a few years ago, it wasn't like that at all... but I dk

hmm I have been planing on getting the hopper, but now that I look at it, we aren't going to more than one park on any certain day maybe I should not get the hopper and then add it when we get there if we decide we want it? I do like the OPTION of getting to park hop, even if we don't do it, but tha would be throwing money away... You gave me something to think about...

So we were doing to go for the dining plan, but I don't think it is worth it since it isn't the same deal it was for 2007. I have never done the dining plan there, and it seemed like the 2007 plan was a good deal, but I don't think it is worth the money for the 2008 plan.

Great decision. I'm sure you'll have a great time.

About the hopper. I always pay for it even if I don't use it that much. Having the option to hop is important. But if you really don't think you'll use it maybe it's better not to get it.

Okay so sorry this Pre-Trippie is super boring but with it being so far out, there isn't packing issue and stuff like that yet. BUT we will be booking the vacation really soon... at least I hope!I'm sure we will be fine with getting a room and stuff we are going early May.

I am getting excited though and starting to do a few day to day plans!
