Our Amazing Dinner at Club 33

We had the greatest fortune to have dinner at Club 33 inside Disneyland to celebrate our Anniversary and my parents Anniversary on Saturday night of Thanksgiving weekend. The park was all decked out for the Christmas Holiday. It was packed, but we weren't there to ride any rides today, just have a fabulous dinner.

We made our way through the crowds, buzzed the intercom, confirmed our reservation and, promptly entered and were seated at our table. Our special menus were waiting on the table for us.

Before we launched into the menu, we were served an amusee bouche. First was a crostini sort of thing with cranberry creme and caviar. The next bite was a gratina of cantolope.

I don't know why we had such good fortune, maybe they were stalling our dinner, but we received yet another amuse bouche. This was a perfectly seared scallop on a piece of waffle, with a strawberry rhubarb sauce and some sort of foam over the top made with creme fraiche.

We hadn't even started dinner and already we had some amazing bites! More to come...stay tuned!

After the two first surprise bites, we finally started on the courses which were listed on our menu.

The Wild Mushroom Bisque, Asparagus Ribbon, Pumpkin Oil was the next course. This was truly amazing, the taste of the Bisque was very intense. The Asparagus Ribbon added a great texture contrast to the whole product, the soup was garnished with sauteed mirapoix.

The next course was really a meal in itself. When we read the menu, "Maine Lobster Salad, Local Field Greens, Oregon Truffle Vinaigrette" I expected a round plate with a little donut sized tuft of greens and maybe an ice cream scoop of Lobster Salad. I never expected this!

BTW, we took home 1 1/4 lbs of lobster in a doggie bag and made the lobster rolls from Epcot's F&W Cookbook for lunch this morning!

So, onto the main course. Petit Chateaubriand, Colorado Lamb Chop, Spiced Cous Cous, I was amazed Beef and Lamb! The sauce was a cherry reduction and everything was just delectable!

Wow, that's incredible! That looks like a LOT of food, too!

And you lucked out with two amuse bouche courses. I couldn't get over the size of the "lobster salad".

Club 33 would be on my "bucket list", but I don't have any connections. Great photos so far! Can't wait to see the cheese and dessert!

After dinner we had an amazing cheese course, I think it was the same one that was included on the Vintner's dinner, but it was still really good! I know there was Humblodt Fog and St. Comte, and some other lovely cheeses but I don't remember all their names!

Dessert was TO DIE FOR! we had a chocolate chocolate souffle, not the kinda chocolate souffle, but REALLY choclate souffle. We had our choices of Godiva white chocolate liquer sauce, choclate sauce or rasberry sauce. We all tried a variety of the three and ate all of our souffle, there was no too-go on dessert!

The castle was all lit up on our way out of the park.

What a special meal! I was lucky enough to eat lunch at Club 33 this past March. It was a very different experience for me, since I was in a large group (about 10 people) and ordered from the regular menu.

Might I ask the cost of the dinner at club 33 was? It looked like a fixed menu so I realize there is a different cost (rather than a la carte). Just asking because I plan to be going there in mid-May 2011.

Honestly it was so long ago I don't remember the cost. However, I can tell you that there is a minumum charge equivalent to the price of a one park ticket. If you do not order enough food to cover the price of the ticket, you will pay a surcharge to meet the minimum, so order lots of courses!

That was a fixed menu, a friend of mine got us in and told the chef our likes and dislikes and it was geared specifically to our tastes.

Great review! Always wanted to dine at Club 33, but haven't had the good fortune, yet. Hopefully someday soon. We have APs, so sometimes I think it would be hard to justify the cost, since for most people it includes their admission, which is a big bonus.
