Our Active April: W.I.S.H. Exercise Challenge

Linda - I'm not supposed to be running either according to my PT, but my orthopedic doc said yesterday that as long as it's HELPING (which it is), then I can run. I do have knee problems and pain, but running and plyo actually helps them feel better, as long as I don't over do it. Now yoga, different story. My knees cannot handle planks and downward dogs and crazy yogi things! Maybe someday, but not yet.

What happened to your knee?

Oh, nothing really "happened" to it. I've been having pain in the back of my knee forever (well, since I started running 2 years ago) and while I was asking the doc about my stupid ears, I asked about my knee. She thought it was a tendon issue. PT thinks it's more of a knee/femur out of alignment thingy that for some odd reason the pain has shifted to the back instead of the front where the problem really lies. Who knows?! :confused3 Hopefully all the exercises help and the pain goes away! Then I'll run again.

I'm glad the running helps you. Yoga doesn't seem to bother me. In fact, I should probably do much more than I do!!! :lmao: I've decided that Monday (the day after my birthday) I'm going to go back to much healthier eating and amp up the exercise. That'll give me 2 years to be "fit not fat at 50!" I think that's Susan's line over on the biggest loser thread! Yes, I lurk! ;)

I did my physical therapy last night, class and a walk today. Later I'll do abs. That bring me to:

Tuesday-an hour WERQ
Wednesday-an hour Strong class, an hour on the treadmill, an hour YogaFit class
Thursday-an hour WERQ class and an hour TurboKick class

Checking in, I've been so busy this month! I can't wait for the weather to be more consistently spring-like so I can do some working out outside!

Tuesday night I did a 40 minute run.
Wednesday I did 20 minutes of toning and 30 minutes of kettlebell.
Thursday I did 30 minutes of step and 30 minutes on the eliptical.
Today I did 30 minutes of abs.

so I have 540/1000! Only 37 days until my trip! Getting so close, hoping to have lost a few pounds by then! :)
