Like so many here, getting a good deal at Disney is my favorite hobby. We were going to skip WDW this year because we did our first (and only) Disney Cruise in June, but DH had a feeling he was not going to be thrilled with the cruise, so we booked 5 nights at the Polynesian for December with (for now) just AAA discount (hoping for a room-only code...we've gotten one every year for ages). Here is why it is a "cheap" trip:

Flying Southwest on points from CC offer we earned last year. Just a few bucks for government fees and early bird check in.

We have Park Hoppers already: I got 7-day hoppers free with Marriott points back in 2006, but I got sick during that trip (we only burned 3 days) so we paid to have them converted to non-expiring, and I have been saving them for a short trip.

We will pay for meals etc. with approx. $800 in Disney Dream Dollars from our VISA (we use it for everything we can and pay balance off monthly) and $120 VISA gift card I am getting for my new Verizon FiOS contract.

And of course we will earn more Disney Dollars by using our Disney VISA to pay our room balance.

I've learned so many Disney savings tips here, thank you all so much!

Hi Neighbor! :wave2:

Your trip sounds great and I love your saving strategies. Plus, you will be there for new Fantasyland! Have a great time.

Hello yourself neighbor! (NJ has sooooo many Mousefans).

We're definitely excited about FLE, and we got Be Our Guest for the night we do MVMCP.

I don't care how much I can (technically) AFFORD to spend, I love a great deal!

Wow! Very impressive! We love the Poly, and need to find any discount we can to stay there! :)

Very impressive, I had to read this cause cheap and poly don't usually appear in the same sentence. Have a great trip,
Drew

I love it when a plan comes together (cheaply)!

You've done a great job of combining your rewards and rebates to make your trip affordable. I hope a room-only code comes out for you so that you can shave a little more off of the cost of that Poly room. Even with a AAA discount, those rooms are still painfully expensive!

Was able to apply the 30% code that went public this AM, saved almost $500 more. And over the weekend I used my PayPal account (all my survey payments go there) to purchase a $25 Disney Gift Card.
