Our trip report actually starts the week before. On Friday to be exact.
My sister and I planned to hang out for the day before she headed to Texas for a few days and then, go with her mom to WDW. I would be going to D-land with Ken. We ate Subway pizza and watched the new Karate Kid, which was pretty good. My dad took me back to my house and dropped her off at the airport.
Wed. Aug. 17, hubs and I got up very early. Our flight was due to take off at 6:45 a.m. to SNA! Sooo excited! Hubby snored for a while in the bed while I got changed into my lucky red Mickey shirt and jeans.
I get him up and my mother who lives nextdoor, takes us to the airport. Everything is going great.
We get into the SWA check in and have to wait a while for it to open. Luckily, I brought my fave Harry Potter book, "The Half Blood Prince," (heavy on my fave character, Snape.
)
Kenny plays with his iphone. He is addicted to Angry Birds and brags about his high score. lol.
Anyhoo, we get checked in and go through security. It's a breeze for once. I always get detained for one reason or another.
Our flight is on time! Yes! We pick up a muffin at Starbucks and wait for our flight. We get on and fly to Denver first....no turbulance!!!!! Then, we get to SNA. Easy peasy!
Now, if you've read my trs, something always goes wrong....right? Well, here's where we start veering off course.
We get to the airport and get our luggage. I go to find the Super Shuttle pick up.....and can't find it. Ken is getting exasperated and I don't blame him. When I finally do find it, I don't have the confirmation number. OMG!!!!!!
I relaxed a bit till I found it. Thankfully. We were taken to the hotel. It was the Ramada Limited Convention Center. It was.....ok. I hate to sound like a snob, but I didn't care for where it was located. Just seemed, not seedy, but not too comfortable. But we're here, make the best of it.
For some reason, when I was given the tickets, I was given a 1 day park hopper each. We planned to get more at the gate.
We decided to go to D-land/DCA that day. We left the hotel at noon to the park. To my surprise, a lot of rides were out of commision that day; Splash Mountain, and Grizzly River Rapids. I knew the Matterhorn would be out as well. Luckily, we were able to get on Star Tours!!!!!
Let me tell you....if you haven't ridden the new one....you have to! It is the bomb!!!!! It goes twice as fast as the old one and is more thrilling. We kept joking the whole time we hoped we'd get on Aldaran. "The safest planet in the galaxy." "Hey, what's that green light? Oh probably nothing, it's not like it's the end of the world."
Pirates was pretty cool this time too with the new inlet of Blackbeard in the waterfall.
There were lines everywhere. We stood in lines on average an hour for each ride. Before we left D-land Park, we had to take a ride on "The Happiest Cruise Ever Sailed," which turned into the unhappiest ride to ever get stuck on. My ears are still bleeding!!!!
After we were put out of our misery, we headed to DCA for the night. Did WOC live up to the hype? Did we get more tickets? Or did my bad luck follow me all the way to Anaheim?
You'll just have to wait and see...
