Our 5th anniversary....in Neverland.

Our trip report actually starts the week before. On Friday to be exact.

My sister and I planned to hang out for the day before she headed to Texas for a few days and then, go with her mom to WDW. I would be going to D-land with Ken. We ate Subway pizza and watched the new Karate Kid, which was pretty good. My dad took me back to my house and dropped her off at the airport.

Wed. Aug. 17, hubs and I got up very early. Our flight was due to take off at 6:45 a.m. to SNA! Sooo excited! Hubby snored for a while in the bed while I got changed into my lucky red Mickey shirt and jeans.

I get him up and my mother who lives nextdoor, takes us to the airport. Everything is going great.

We get into the SWA check in and have to wait a while for it to open. Luckily, I brought my fave Harry Potter book, "The Half Blood Prince," (heavy on my fave character, Snape.)

Kenny plays with his iphone. He is addicted to Angry Birds and brags about his high score. lol.

Anyhoo, we get checked in and go through security. It's a breeze for once. I always get detained for one reason or another. :scared1:

Our flight is on time! Yes! We pick up a muffin at Starbucks and wait for our flight. We get on and fly to Denver first....no turbulance!!!!! Then, we get to SNA. Easy peasy!

Now, if you've read my trs, something always goes wrong....right? Well, here's where we start veering off course.

We get to the airport and get our luggage. I go to find the Super Shuttle pick up.....and can't find it. Ken is getting exasperated and I don't blame him. When I finally do find it, I don't have the confirmation number. OMG!!!!!! :scared1:

I relaxed a bit till I found it. Thankfully. We were taken to the hotel. It was the Ramada Limited Convention Center. It was.....ok. I hate to sound like a snob, but I didn't care for where it was located. Just seemed, not seedy, but not too comfortable. But we're here, make the best of it.

For some reason, when I was given the tickets, I was given a 1 day park hopper each. We planned to get more at the gate.

We decided to go to D-land/DCA that day. We left the hotel at noon to the park. To my surprise, a lot of rides were out of commision that day; Splash Mountain, and Grizzly River Rapids. I knew the Matterhorn would be out as well. Luckily, we were able to get on Star Tours!!!!!

Let me tell you....if you haven't ridden the new one....you have to! It is the bomb!!!!! It goes twice as fast as the old one and is more thrilling. We kept joking the whole time we hoped we'd get on Aldaran. "The safest planet in the galaxy." "Hey, what's that green light? Oh probably nothing, it's not like it's the end of the world." :lmao:

Pirates was pretty cool this time too with the new inlet of Blackbeard in the waterfall.

There were lines everywhere. We stood in lines on average an hour for each ride. Before we left D-land Park, we had to take a ride on "The Happiest Cruise Ever Sailed," which turned into the unhappiest ride to ever get stuck on. My ears are still bleeding!!!!

After we were put out of our misery, we headed to DCA for the night. Did WOC live up to the hype? Did we get more tickets? Or did my bad luck follow me all the way to Anaheim?

You'll just have to wait and see...

Anna

Later that night....

We go to DCA. We didn't ride many of the rides. Most of them had lines to Mars when we were there. We did walk around a lot and ate at the Paradise Pier. We planned to do the Fast Pass for WOC, but we never got around to it. Instead, we found a great seat and just waited.

The show was amazing! It definately lives up to the hype! I loved that it was all classic Disney, well mostly. I am not a big fan of the new Disney....it's the retro stuff for me!

I loved the Pirates part and the Little Mermaid! Sooo much fun! It was sooo romantic toward the end!!!!

We strolled out of the park in the 60 ish degree weather and hopped on the shuttle to head back to our room for the night. It was close to midnight by the time we got to bed.

The next morning.....all h*ll broke loose.

I have an assistant who helps me plan my trips and gets me tickets, etc. Well, she only got us the one day ph. Not only that, she booked us on the wrong flight returning home, and a whole host of screw-ups. :scared1:

I ended up having to fix her mess myself. I had to change the flight to the one we needed which then had to pay a change fee. We were going to get tiks to the parks, but decided not to with the change fee debacle. So....we decided to explore Anaheim a lot instead.

We went to Goofy's Kitchen for breakfast. It was a lot of fun! The food was fabulous and the characters were awesome! I dare say, it was as good or better than Crystal Palace!!!! I had eggs, sausage, bacon, Mickey waffles, fruit, juice. He had the same and more. I also had a chocolate rice krispie bar and cookie

The characters were really fun. They all stopped by our table and signed autographs. They wanted pics with both of us!

After breaky, we headed out to Downtown Disney to do some shopping. I treated my hubby to a day of shopping. I got him an R2D2 hat and a lightsaber, as well as the breakfast. He said later, "A guy can get used to this."

We then went on to our room. I decided to go to Anaheim Gardenwalk. I hopped the ART bus and headed there. I wanted to find the LUSH store! I loooove LUSH!!!!! :cloud9:

The women there were so nice! They hooked me up with some great samples including Dream Cream, Catastrophe Cosmetique, Big Shampoo, and a host of others. I felt like I'd died and gone to heaven.

Next up....a fun burger nite with hubs and it wouldn't be a vacation without more snafus.

Hmm this doesn't sound too great. I'm hoping Lush is enough for you to have a good time on vacation.

Sorry for not updating life got in the way...

Yes, I loved the Lush stuff and am still using it.

So, that night, we decide to go out to have a burger at the Burgerland place. It was pretty good and cheap.

We went to Gardenwalk and walked around. We ended up going back to D-land Downtown Disney and shopping again.

This whole trip...was a bust. Everything went wrong. I had more fun on my own. Hubs griped the whole time.

So, the next day is the D23 Convention. I nearly couldn't find my D23 ticket, our flight got changed again, and we were arguing. :headache:

I got the mess settled and we we to teh convention. The line was loooonnngggg! We waited an hour to get in. The convention was really fun adn we got some great pics.

That night, we ended up going to see the Harry Potter movie again. I looovvveeee this movie and Snape is my hero in it.:love:

We came out to see the fireworks going off at D-land Park! It was a great night.

The next day....why did I think this trip would be a good idea?

Sorry I left it like that. My dad is going into alchohol rehab and my mind has been preoccupied.

So, let's see...

Oh yes. It's Aug. 19. D23 day 1.

We got up and went to breakfast at Ramada. The day seemed to go pretty smoothly.

Kenny gets this bright idea to walk to the Convention Center. Now....we are more than a mile away and I have weak ankles.

But I go....

It's chilly that morning and we walk and walk and walk.

Finally we see the Convention Center....and the line. :scared1::scared1::scared1:

We ended up in a huge line and walked two miles an hour for two hours. lol.

Finally we get in and I can't tell you how much I was glad to get out of that line!!!

The Convention was really cool. Lots of artifacts from past Disney movies and interesting stuff to see everywhere. Kenny wanted to leave by noon though. We had looked at everything and he was ready to go.

We walked to the ART bus stop and got in a tiff the whole time because....I don't know why. I think he had a bad hair day or something.

By now...I just wanted to go home.

We had lunch at Burgerland again and headed to our hotel.

That night, we decided to go to Downtown Disney again. This night, we actually had fun. We went to Napolini and ate pizza..yummy. We went to get some ice cream from Haagen Daas. It was 60 degrees out. I know, we were nuts. Kenny hugged me and apologized for his tude. lol.

We went back to the room to chill out and pack.

The next morning, the Super Shuttle comes to get us....dang early. We had an early flight.

The trip to the airport went great. When we get there, we go and put our bags in at the airline check in station. We got our tickets and headed to security.

We get all teh way up there and I hand my ticket over. Kenny is already waiting for me on hte other side.

Never ask if anything else can go wrong....it did.

Apparently, my name didn't match my ID....they misspelled it!!!! So...I was sent to get a new ticket copy. Which I did. By now, I was not hte happiest of campers.
Thankfully, it was easily fixed and we managed to be able to get on our flight. It connected in Phx. Of course, it was delayed. Lol!!!!

I took this time to get a cool new magnet from Arizona. We hung out till our flight to Tulsa.

I was never so happy to hear them say "Welcome to Tulsa." We were home!

And guess what? I must be a real sucker for punishment....guess who's going back to Dland in December. Me! solo this time. Hopefully, it will go much better this time.

Gabbie
