Our 2nd Trip to Disney! Did it Measure Up? (w/pics) **THE END**

Thanks  I figure at this point, I can be in pain and lay on the couch, or I can be in pain but take natural pain reducers like reading PTR's ;)

I like the latter. :thumbsup2 I, too, am a bit under the weather, but more self induced....I'll explain in my PTR.....

My migraine was gone for a while, but seems to have returned :confused3

Do you mean your lack of sleep and your cleaning of the house? I tried to find a new entry mentioning something, but couldn't find anything. Although, in my state my comprehension is probably low ;) Hope you're feeling better anyway!

I haven't posted yet because I'm in the middle of heavy planning for the trip.

Sorry about the migraine. I have a bit of a headache too, but I think it's allergies because the dry winds are picking up.

Feel better soon.

Gotcha. At least I know I haven't lost my mind :dance3:

I'll be right as rain tomorrow after a night's sleep. Thanks :)

I think I have the whole picture thing figured out. What a relief!

Before I begin my next packing list, I thought I'd show you what I'm drinking my coffee out of this morning:

I'm drinking out of that same cup right now!

Kathy (just getting started reading my first pretrip reports)

:mickeyjum:mickeyjum:mickeyjum5 DAYS!!!!!:mickeyjum:mickeyjum:mickeyjum

Can you barely stand it?!?! :hyper:

I go back and forth between being VERY excited and freaking out that I don't have enough time to get everything done that needs to be done!!!! (and yet, here I sit reading PTR's) :rotfl:

LOL I think everyone here understands EXACTLY what you're going through!! I know I do! ::yes:: :teeth:

I just don't want to do anything that isn't related to our trip or Disney. Although, packing has to do with our trip and I don't even want to do that right now! But, that's mainly because it involves laundry and we all know how I feel about laundry :laundy: :scared:   :headache:

:)

Too many things getting in the way of my PTR writing and reading :sad2: I've mentioned that I'm a den leader. Tonight is the Roundtable meeting, which is where all of the area leaders get together and brainstorm, etc. Our pack was nominated to do the "break outs", which means we plan the smaller group activities. I'll be leading the Tiger Den Leaders. So, I've had to spend my morning preparing (it really is fun, don't get me wrong...it just takes away from my very important PTR's!!!).

I've started thinking about the whole DS3, DS5, and DS7 instead of their real names. I like my sons' names. And, I figured there's a link in here to my blog at which I use my sons' names all of the time. So, from here on out, I will refer to them by their names. Here's a Key to help you out: ;)

DS7 - Sullivan (usually called Sully, except when I'm mad at him and use his full name)

DS5 - Owen (I call him my Shmo-ey Shmore)

DS3 - Connor (or Grumpy Bug, depending on his mood)

DH - Chuck

I also wanted to give an update on Connor. Someone in the PTR asked how he was doing. I figure it does relate to the trip somewhat so I thought I'd let you know where things stand.

He had a check up last week during which they did an X-ray. He had some improvement after the clean out 4 weeks ago. But, has slowly begun to decline again. His appetite has diminished and the X-ray showed he has a lot of stool again. So, we're pretty sure at this point that there's something wrong. After the clean out, I had hoped that by increasing his fluids and fiber, and having him take Miralax that we could maintain things well and eventually wean him off of the Miralax. Unfortunately, that does not appear to be the case. The doctor thinks he might have short segment Hirshsprung's disease (they've suspected Hirshsprung's since the first appointment, but the barium enema they did didn't show anything abnormal). So, this week I will take him to our primary care manager and get a referral. They want him to have an anorectal manometry done. When we get back from Disney I will schedule an appointment with the doctor who will perform it (it's safer than a rectal biopsy).

Anyway, I'm a little nervous that this will affect our trip somewhat as Connor gets more full of stool, fights eating, gets irritable and has less energy (this is what we've dealt with over his short life). Because of his irregularity and difficulties with his bowels, he's still in pull-ups. I'm also somewhat nervous that he'll become more constipated as he tries to hold it while in the van or at the parks. Fingers crossed that the Miralax and diet will at least keep things manageable.

So, enough poop talk :scared:

Great updates....

Sorry to hear about your son...:sad1: Hopefully that won't impact your vacation too much.

Can you finish planning my vacation with all the spare time you have.

You know, that is REAL tempting! I love the planning part of a trip. It really is a tie between actually enjoying the trip and planning the trip. Both are so much fun!!

Thank goodness you have a computer to make your changes on! Can you imagine if you had to do this by hand?! What draft do you think you're on now?

Wow, you've been chatty over the weekend! I do hope they can figure out what is wrong with your ds, and that it doesn't interfere too much with your trip. Btw, are you bringing the post-its for the automatic toilets? Dd had a bad experience with one, then panicked every time afterwards. In the airport, I ended up using one of the sticker clothes from the paper doll book, and realized post-its would've been the perfect solution.

That is very ingenius of you Irene!! :) Since it doesn't bother Sully or Owen, and Connor doesn't poop on the potty, unfortunately, we have no need for Post-Its on the toilets. Although, maybe I'll try it simply because it sounds so cool :thumbsup2 And I hate when it flushes halfway through :sad2:

So, it appears some of you think I am chatty. Jordan referred to me as chatty in his PTR. Now Irene has jumped on the bandwagon. Am I chatty? Maybe I just feel obligated to share every last detail of my trip with you all. It's not MY fault.

Let's ask someone that knows me in real life. Liz (liznboys)? Where are ya hon? Am I chatty? Go ahead and tell the truth. I'll still love you :lovestruc

I refuse to ask my husband this question though. :snooty:

I completely forgot to mention my newest dilemma. I was talking to my parents last night (who are excited about the trip and are putting everything into my "capable" planning hands - their word -). First, my stepgrandparents both fell the other night. My grandmother was feeling dizzy and my grandfather reached out to stop her and they both ended up falling :( How sweet is that though? He is totally in no condition to help her, but he tried. They both went by ambulance to the hospital, but he was sent home and she stayed a few nights. Both are fine. My stepmother asked my grandfather what he wanted her to bring back from Disney World and he said "Nothing. I already have everything."

ANYWAY (does a chatty person go off on tangents when trying to tell a story? :confused3 ), my stepmother mentioned that my dad was a bit unhappy because they'd be flying down to Orlando during the Patriots game. I had no idea what time they were playing next weekend and it turns out the game is at 4 p.m. on Sunday. My parents' flight? It arrives at 5!!! :scared1: So, you know we will be RUSHING back to the townhouse to watch the game. I will check and see if there is a DVR, although I highly doubt it. But, the plus side is that we'll be able to watch the game on a HD Plasma TV! :cool1: It's a good thing I didn't plan anything for that evening.

I need to ask something to see if I am truly an obsessive PTR geek. Tell me if I'm the only one that does this. When I'm reading through a long PTR (not naming names or anything *cough*jordan's*cough* - hey man, have I plugged your PTR enough yet? :confused3 ), I will open up a separate window. What is this window for you ask? Well, I guess if you have to ask then you don't do what I do. I open a 2nd window so that I can keep refreshing the PTR page and see if any new replies have been posted to either this thread or any of the others that I read. So, am I sick? Certifiable? :dance3: What's the verdict? Sometimes I even use the other window to post another update in my OWN thread (like I'm doing right now).

Lastly, I'm going to leave you with a little funny. Owen is my easy child, my very loving child. He tells me numerous times a day that he loves me (he's just like his dad :rolleyes1 ). His New Year's Resolution this year? To love his mom. I KID YOU NOT. In school, he had to come up with 4 resolutions, each one pertaining to different people in his life, such as his friends, his teacher, his parents, etc.

Anyway, every once in a while, we catch a glimpse of Owen's mean side. In class lately, he's been learning to write friendly letters. He brought home a final draft of one the other day. This is what it said:

Dear Santa,

Hello. So, how are your reindeer? Well, I have three computers.
Sometimes my brother Sully is mean to my little brother and me so don't give him presents.

Your friend,

Owen
