I'm stil typing up my hand written journal (we got back from our 2 week trip yesterday - went on the 7 day Magic after the parks) so I'll add to this trip report as I get it typed up.

Sun 11/10 - Day 1

We checked into the Marriott by the airport last night to officially start our honeymoon!!! We woke up at 6:15 am to get ready for our 9 am flight to Orlando. Scott was all cuddly and silly when he woke me up! When we got to the airport he asked for an upgrade since it?s our honeymoon but this plane was coach seating only. We got here around 7 for our 9 flight (Scott likes to be early). We were wearing our Bride & Groom t-shirts and started getting responses to them walking through security! Scott got applause for the guys there and they saw his Mickey groom hat too!! They wished us luck.

Right before boarding, Scott put on his hat so I could take a picture of him. Suddenly people were coming over to us to congratulate us. One woman offered to take our picture together so I dug my hat out of my bag and put it one. Then someone else came over and just started talking to us! Those hats really do work, even in the NJ airports! LOL

We had an excellent flight out there, we let EXACTLY on time and landed about 20 minute early!!! We had to wait a bit for the shuttle to take us to Port Orleans and we got there around 2 pm or so. They have a luggage room there to hold your luggage if you get there before check in so you can wander around with out carrying it all with you. Then when you get your room, you call them and they bring it to you. So we got our trading pins that came with our package and went to eat in their casual dining area, sorta like a cafeteria but decorated like Mardi Gras! We still had our carry on stuff with us so we went to eat one at a time. I went first then sat down to write in the journal while waiting for Scott. 2 guests came over to me at different times to talk to me (I was still wearing my hat) and to congratulate me. They did it for Scott as well!! :) When we checked in the cast member there congratulate us as well!!

Our room was AWESOME!! We had a corner room in the best building on the property!!! Building 5 is right next to everything, the pool (which we ended up not having time to use), the boat dock, where the buses pick you up, and the main building! The property is set up to look like the streets of New Orleans and it really does! Even the man hole covers say Port Orleans on them!!! There are wrought iron railings everywhere, which is very French and even the way the rooms are decorated looks all French!

Around 4:30 we caught the boat for Downtown Disney (I've never been there before). The boat ride was so pretty down this little river, very romantic!
rsptfqphoto3zom.jpg

In the tress on one side of the river you could see the Tree Top Villas of the Wilderness Lodge, they look just like the Swiss Family Robinson!! When we got to Downtown, we walked around the shops for a bit. I was in Tigger heaven there, especially at the Pooh shop and the largest Disney Store I've ever seen!!!! I was ready to buy everything!! LOL

We went to Wolfgang Puck for dinner. It was very nice, an excellent way to start off the honeymoon!!! They gave us a window table overlooking the water. Our food was fantastic and we tried new things that we normally wouldn?t have eaten since all our food was included in our plan. For dessert they brought out their Chocolate Lover?s Delight which was all sorts of chocolate mousses and stuff and they wrote "congratulations" in chocolate on the side of plate with 2 little hearts! Awww?!!!!

After that we went to see La Nouba after walking through Pleasure Island. Pleasure Island was great! There was a live band playing there so we topped to listen and dance for a bit since we still had some time. Then there was La Nouba? Words can?t even describe this show! It was part circus, part stage show, part ballet type, the costumes were out of this world and the stunts were incredible!! It was sophisticated, exciting, entertaining, funny and wonderful!!!
pmddentlanoubaimg.jpg

After that we took the boat back up the river to the hotel. It was very romantic and the boat captain played music from Lilo and Stitch! The boat captain told us the space shuttle was supposed to take off around 1 am that morning and we?d be able to see it over the lagoon. We were soo excited but when we turned the TV on back in the room the news said it was cancelled. :(

Wow - what a great start to your trip - thanks for posting!

Mon 11/11 - Day 2

UGH! We had to get up at 6:30 since we had an early "Keys to The Kingdom" Tour!! But it was sooo worth it!!!! We were let into the Magical Kingdom before it opened since we had the tour so it was nice walking around for a bit with no one there. After checking in for the tour we met Heather & Paul in person! Heather and I met on the DisBoards while planning surprises for our husbands. We found out we were going on the same tour on the same day but at different times so they switched theirs to be with us! I'm so glad they did! They are wonderful people!!!

The Tour itself was out of this world!!! Our guide, Kelly, is originally from Parsippany, about 5 minutes from us here! It was a 4 ½ hour tour including lunch and we went all over the park as well as backstage! We learned some secrets of the parks and some rides (we went on a few) and even got to see the cast member tunnel!!!

First we walked down Main St and learned the Disney philosophy and the 4 Keys. Then we went to Adventureland and went on the Jungle Cruise. We got our own boat there. All the while we were being told stuff about MK. We went backstage which was the best part! We saw the water globes for the parade all sitting in their warehouse and go to go right up to see them!!! We also saw castmembers rehearsing for the Christmas Parade! It was hysterical to see the 7 Dwarfs with their faces and shoes but without the rest of their costumes! LOL We also saw the floats for the Spectral Magic Parade.

After going backstage we went to lunch which wasn?t bad. Then we went to the Haunted Mansion. Since we were on the tour we got to go in through the back entrance which made us feel special!!!! Then they took us to this office (actual Disney offices) where they had a display window showing us cosmetology, central engineering, costuming and the Disney Look. Since they couldn?t take us to see those actual things, they set up this display for the tours.

Then we ventured into the Utilidor!! The "underground tunnel" that every one hears about. It?s actually not underground, though. Since you'd only get water if you dug into the ground in Florida, they couldn?t dig an actual tunnel .What they did instead was make the Utilidor on the ground level or first level. Then when they dug up some ground for the 7 Seas Lagoon, they used that dirt to create a second level. That's where the park actually is. So the "underground tunnel" is really on ground level and the park is on the second level!!! There are entrances to the Utilidor from every land so castmembers can get where they need to go without walking through the other lands and looking out of place. This was pretty much the end of the tour.

We then walked around the park with Heather & Paul. We took tons of pictures and got tons of congratulations from everyone!! Paul's Groom hat was too small for him so all he had was a groom t-shirt that people had trouble seeing so everyone though Scott had 2 brides!! LOL One woman even told us she didn't know you could do that at Disney!! The 4 of us went on Splash Mountain (the only ride the entire week where we had to wait and it was only about ½ hour wait) and we got our boat for just the 4 of us!! We got totally soaked! LOL Then we went to Pirates of the Caribbean and saw the parade on the way over. On the Pirate ride, not only did the 4 of us get our own boat, they announced us over the loud speaker to congratulate the 2 newlywed couples!!! It was great!!!

Heather and Paul had to leave then but we made plans to meet with them on Friday. Scott & I went to Thunder Mountain after they left with the fastpass (greatest invention ever!). We were given the front row because of our bride & groom hats!!!!

Our nest stop was Fantasyland to get the fastpass for the Winnie the Pooh ride. While waiting, we went to Toontown. We went through both Mickey & Minnie's houses as well as Donald's boat. Then we met Mickey and got a picture with him! He really liked my engagement ring!!! After that we went to visit Winnie the Pooh, Tigger and Eyore to get pictures taken with them. After taking a picture of both of us with Tigger, Tigger took Scott?s groom hat off of Scott, put it on himself, and pushed Scott out of the picture! He wanted a pic of just me and him with him wearing Scott's hat!! LOL I married Tigger!! YIPPEEE!!!! We went back to Fantasyland and went on Snow White, and then Scott made me VERY dizzy on the Tea Cups!! We saw Alice there. Next was It's a Small World then Winnie the Pooh! I loved that ride!!!

pmtpmkdinroyalimg.jpg

Then we had dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table in the castle! What an experience that was!!!! First we got a table by the window and they sprinkled pixie dust on it! This was the only table that had both seats with a full view out the window. The manager came over to congratulate us. In the middle of our meal, a family came over to our table and their older son shoves his way in between me and the window (not a lot of space there) saying how this is the best window (this was minutes after we saw Captain Hook and Peter Pan run past us outside on the ledge). This boy and his brother were practically in our faces and those of the people behind us, and their parents just sat there and let them without saying anything to them!!! The younger son then reaches out and grabs some rolls off of the table behind me! His mother loudly screamed at the people at the table about not having Disney spirit (understandably they were upset when her son reached out and grabbed their food off their table). She ran off and her husband and other son were still standing there! She got mad at the innocent people whose dinner was almost ruined by her son instead of getting mad at him!!! So we all start talking about how rude she is, etc with her husband right there and he says nothing and is all oblivious!!! The other son was then in Scott's face! Scott had already said loudly to me (as a hint to the father) that he wasn't done eating but couldn't eat with people in his face. Finally Scott had to tell the father we were trying to eat. They guy left then (never apologize) and was totally clueless about what his family had done! He said they were told this was the best place for the fireworks (this was how Scott & I found out we could see them from the restaurant!!) After they left, we all had a great laugh about it! Our waitress came over to apologize and said she just saw what happened and was heading over when Scott asked the father to leave. She said those people weren?t even eating there!!!

After that, the lights went out in the restaurant. A woman then asked us very nicely if her children can stay near our table since they couldn?t see from theirs. Since she was polite and not in our faces, of course we said yes!! Then came the fireworks! There?s nothing like watching fireworks from inside Cinderella?s castle on your honeymoon!!!! We had THE best view out of the entire park!!!!! It was absolutely spectacular!! Then our waitress brought us a Magical Moments Certificate signed by Cinderella in honor of our honeymoon and 2 champagne glasses for free for our honeymoon!! On the way into the restaurant I wanted our picture taken in Cinderella?s throne in the lobby but it was too busy so we decide to wait till we left Good thing we did cuz Cinderella herself was there for pictures so we go tour picture taken with her on her throne!! I told her she was the theme of our wedding!! LOL When we left, the castle was gorgeous all lit up!!!

But the night wasn't over just yet... On the way to MK that morning we passed Fort Wilderness and Scott told me he read something about a campfire there on the boards and did I want to go. Since there are so many things going on, I never questioned him. I was VERY tired and wanted nothing but to go to sleep but since it was his honeymoon too and he seemed to really want to go I reluctantly agreed. So we took the ferry over there and he seemed to take forever to find where we needed to go. Then he left me sitting on a porch while he looked for the location. I was really ticked at him at this point since I was tired and had no interest, but didn't want to say anything to him. Good thing I didn't! He took me over to a fence by a sign and said to wit there and something will happen. I was so confused. Then he told me to look up at the sign, we were standing under a sign for carriage rides!! He surprised me by booking a ½ hour carriage ride around the grounds!! The campfire thing was just his way of getting me there!!! We had received our Disney Magazine about 2 weeks before the trip and I saw an article about that and he took it and called to surprise me!! AWWWW!!!!!! The ride took us down a very romantic moonlit path for ½ hour while we cuddled! He was so romantic for surprising me like that!!!

We went back to our hotel then and one of our towels was folded in a swan and one was a bunny!!! Scott's character b-day card I had asked the hotel for was there (2 days early). He loved it and was surprised! He thought that was his only surprise but it wasn't his b-day yet!!!! He loved the Donald Card? it was a 5x7 photograph signed by Donald himself!!!!!

Lisa,
Can't wait to read more :-) Although I already have heard some of it, I like to read. I can't believe that family that was so rude at Cindys.
We had fun getting to meet you and Scott. Paul and I are already talking about having to make a trip to New Jersey. (It doesn't hurt that most of my relatives live near there :-) )
I want to show Paul all the places I have been, New Jersey being a big one- Every summer I went there :-)
Thanks for the recaps so far!!!! I need to post mine. Hopefully I will start tonight!

Marla, thanks for stopping by. I'll have day 3 ready to go soon, I hope!!!

Heather!! We had such a great time with you and Paul! We were SOOO glad you changed your Keys tour to be on ours so we could meet!! It's funny, Scott and I noticed that all 4 of us just assumed we'd be hanging out after the tour and no one had to ask "do you wanna go around the park together?" We all just knew! We'd LOVE it if you came to NJ! I don't know if a trip to Texas is in my future, but Scott has gonethere for work so he might again!

We got our package of souvenirs in the mail today (we had them shipped from WDW) and in it was a pic of Scott & I with Heather & Paul on Splash Mountain!!!

Hey that's us!! Cool!! Paul saw it and couldn't believe that there was a picture of him on the internet :-) We got all our pictures developed two days after we got back and have been looking at them ever since. I really need a scanner at home so I can scan them in and show everyone :-) Tons of Lisa and Scott with us. Also Tigger and Donald....did you want any of those Lisa?? Just in case yours didn't turn out. :)

Heather S

Hey Heather! I"m glad you saw the pic so soon after I posted it! Isn't it the cutest? YOu guys bought it too, didn't you? I'd love copies of whatever you have and I'll send you copies of ours when we get them back (I mail them out to a lab so it'll be about a week but they e-mail them to me so when I get the e-mails, I'll give you the link as well).

Tues 11/12 - Day 3

We went to MGM this day. We got there as soon as the park opened and headed straight for the Aerosmith Rockin Roller Coaster. On the way another couple (guest) just walked over to us and asked if we wanted fastpasses to Tower of Terror (we think it was cuz of our ears). We went on Aerosmith which was AWESOME then to the Tower of Terror which I also loved!! The Great Movie Ride was next and then Star Tours before we went to lunch.

We went to the Sci-Fi Dine In for lunch. It looked EXACTLY like a drive in movie theatre at night! The tables were even cars! We loved it!! They had a huge drive in movie screen playing clips from real drive in movies too! Our waitress gave us a free glow in the dark Frisbee and a Magical Moments certificate. We also got sports cups that sorta glow and glow in the dark cubes to put in your drink as part of our meal plan!

After lunch we went on the backlot tour. It was very interesting. We saw some set designers working as well as the Golden Girls house! We also went through Catastrophe Canyon, which was all special effects and was a lot of fun. At the beginning of the tour they showed us water effects and recreated a scene from Pearl Harbor.

We then saw the Little Mermaid Voyage Under the Sea. It was part blacklight puppet show, part regular show, part movie and the audience felt as if they were part of it all!! It was also part laser show! When it rained in the show, it rained on the audience! It was fantastic!!

The Muppet 3-D Show was next. It was part 3-D movie and part puppets. The theatre looked like the theatre from the Muppet Show complete with the 2 old guys in the balcony! This show also used special effects to make it seem more real: they had bubbles in the movie and real bubbles came from the ceiling!! The only bad thing was that the cold I was getting moved to my head and ears and I was so stuffed... ?

The Indiana Jones Stunt Show was next. We walked in with only 5 minutes till show time, but a castmember saw our ears and put us in the VIP seating in the very front!! The show was great since they showed us how they change scenes and explained how things are done, etc. It was as if they were really filming (with cameras and everything) and we were watching it.

Immediately after seeing Indy, we got ready for the parade. The beginning of the parade route was about 50 feet (not even) from Indy so we got the perfect spot! This parade was all cars built to the personality of the characters. Since we were so close, apparently we (and our hats) were seen from the parade! Buzz Lightyear, woody and their driver congratulated us, so did Snow White & Minnie Mouse! We felt so special!!

After that we went to a walk-through museum type informational exhibit about the man himself? Walt Through The Years. It was interesting to see his old school desk and pictures of him as a child. He and Roy look exactly like their father!!

Then we had dinner at the Brown Derby. I had to go to first aid to see if they had anything to stop the ear pain/ congestion. Pinocchio saw me go in and came over to see how I was!! We asked our waitress if we could get priority seating for Fantasmic cuz of our honeymoon and she was able to!! That gave us time for 1 more ride on the Tower of Terror!!

Fantasmic was a great show using water as well as actors! The water was sprayed up to make a curtain, or in this case, a screen, and they were projecting movie clips onto the water screen from behind it! Towards the end of the show (which was scenes/ clips from several different Disney movies) the skies opened and it started POURING!!! We stayed as long as we would but we were both freezing and shivering so we left, but only missed (according to Scott) about 5 minutes of the show. We were SOAKED!!

When we got back to the hotel, Scott went out in the pouring rain to the gift shop to get me ear drops! He's so sweet!!!

Oh yeah, we saw about 4 other bride & groom couples at the park!

Wed 11/13 - Day 4 - Scott's b-day!

Happy b-day to Scott!!!! We got up at 6:30 am so we could get to the Animal Kingdom in time for Donald's Breakfastosaurus at 8:30. We saw Mickey, Donald (he proposed to me and we got a picture of it!), Goofy and Pluto. After breakfast we went on the Jungle Safari. On our way there was asked a maintenance worker to take our picture and he cut a flower off of one of the bushes for me! (BTW, we were on roll of film # 14 here!) The safari was fantastic!! We saw all the animals except for the lions (we only saw the top of their heads). Disney made it more than just a safari; it was sort of like a ride. They had a bridge that felt like it was falling as we drove over it, etc.

After the safari, we went to the Lion King show - Festival of the Lion King. Since we were wearing our bride & groom hats, a castmember came over and asked us if we embarrass easily. I said no. Then he noticed Scott's "Today is my birthday?" pin. He (the castmember) pulled us aside then. He picked up a house phone and gave it to Scott and Goofy sang Happy Birthday to him!! Then we were brought to the middle of the theatre (it's a round theatre) and the castmember announced our names and that we were newlyweds from NJ. We got tons of applause! Then he said it was Scott's b-day and everyone sang! It was great, and Scott even took a bow afterwards!! Then came the show and that was incredible too! It had floats, gymnasts, singing and dancing!

After that we went underneath the Tree of Life to see It's Tough to be a Bug. It was so cute! Because of our hats, we were given special seats there- they have a row with only 2 seats. We stopped off at a store after that on our way to the Dinosaur ride and were given 2 Magical Moments Certificates - 1 for our honeymoon and 1 for Scott's b-day. We also went to see Tigger and he kissed me!!!

The Dinosaur ride was really cool and Scott videotaped it! LOL Who knows how it'll come out. We saw Tarzan Rocks next, which was another great show. There were acrobatic roller bladders as well as dancers and singers. Afterwards, we went back to the Dinosaur ride (we got fast passes when we were done the first time). Then we went on another ride called Primeval Whirl and neither of us really cared for it.

We had lunch at Pizzafari, which was Scott's choice (he's a huge pizza fan). We then walked through the jungle trek which is sorta like Disney's version of a zoo. We got to see a GORGEOUS tiger right on the other side of just a piece of glass!! There was a castmember by the tigers who had everyone sing happy anniversary (guess he thought we wore the hats for our anniversary) and happy b-day to Scott!!

After seeing an acrobatic act, we had VIP seats for the Jungle Jammin Parade. Several face characters congratulated us and most of the characters waved directly to us! We left the park and went back to the hotel to relax for a bit. Scott was surprised by the b-day balloon bouquet that was waiting for him in the room!! He called his parents and we both took a little nap before getting ready for dinner.

We went to Downtown Disney to shop for a bit before going to Fulton's Crab House for Scott's b-day dinner. We got a b-day card and an anniversary card from the restaurant (I guess we weren't on our honeymoon that day! LOL) We went back to the shops and finished our shopping then. We got all our souvenirs and Hanukkah gifts.

The cold I was getting was a bit better during the day but my ears got all clogged up again and Scott started not feeling well... :( I guess I made him sick... All day long we got tons of congratulations and Scott got lots of happy b-days. We saw 1 other bride & groom at the park and 2 downtown.

Thurs 11/14 - Day 5

We woke up at 8:15 to begin day 5 of the bestest honeymoon in the world!!! We went directly to Test Track. That ride was so much fun! After that, we walked through Innovations and were given a plastic magnifying glass and stickers from a castmember cuz of our hats!

We headed from there to Spaceship Earth. That was a very interesting/ educational ride. I liked it. Scott videotaped it. At the end of the ride, you can walk through an AT&T exhibit about telecommunications. They have a real working telephone there that is probably about 6 feet tall so we called my dad from there (my mom was at work)! He sounded very excited to hear from us. Honey I Shrunk the Audience was next. That was very cute, I loved it. Then we had time for Journey Through Imagination before lunch. Scott taped that ride too!

We had lunch in Canada at La Cellier Steakhouse. It was a very nice restaurant and we both enjoyed our meals. Next we walked through Showcase of the World. We started in the UK and went to France. It looked exactly like Paris! We went to a perfume shop and I bought some, then a pastry at La Patisserie. I got to practice my French with real Frenchmen!! Then we saw the movie Impressions of France, which showed various scenes of France. We then walked through Morocco to get to the USA. In The States we saw a drum and fife corps play then went to see an animatronic show about American History (I forget the name of it). While waiting for it to start, we saw a flag recovered from Ground Zero and heard a great singing group called American Vybe.

Italy was the next stop on our world tour. We saw a moving statue and had our picture taken with her.
2490201a.jpg

Then we strolled through Germany and the beginnings of Spain (it's not totally built yet). Next was the South Africa Outpost, China and Norway. We went on the Maelstrom Ride and got our own boat (this was a boat ride about Vikings/ boating history). We went back to China to watch some acrobats. They were young boys and were pretty good. We finished our world tour in Mexico where we went on the El Rio Del Tiempo ride which was very romantic. We also got our own boat there. Back in Orlando we went on the Body Wars ride before heading back to France for dinner. We ate at Chefs de France where I got to practice my French again!

We walked around for a little while then and ended up back in USA to watch the Tapestry of Dreams parade where several cast members waved at us and a fairy drew a heart in the air! Chubby Checker was there to put on a show and he was incredible!!!! I couldn't stop dancing, which probably made for a bouncy video! Then we had VIP seating for Illuminations which was an incredible show of lights, water and fireworks!

Scott was feeling icky all day and my congestion moved to my throat :( and chest as well as my nose.. YUCK! How on Earth did we get so sick? We saw no other brides & grooms that day but we got tons of congratulations from CMs and other guests all day!

Fri 11/15 - Day 6

We decided to sleep in for our last day in the parks. :( We were both a bit sad to leave the parks but excited :) to go on the cruise! The first thing we did at the Magic Kingdom was go on the Peter Pan Ride. Winnie the Pooh was next (Scott taped it) and then we saw Cinderella?s Surprise Celebration, a little show the characters put on in front of the castle. It was a lot of fun!

Lunch was next at Tony's Town Square for their Tigger Character Lunch. We saw Tigger (YIPPEE), Pooh, Piglet and Eyore. There was a TON of pixie dust on our table with some confetti as well! Since Tony's is modeled after the Lady and the Tramp restaurant and Tramp pushed a meatball to Lady with his nose, the waitress announced we were on our honeymoon and brought a meatball to our table for Scott to push to me with his nose! It was hysterical! They also gave us a film canister full of pixie dust! And of course I HAD to get Tigger's autograph!

We went to the Swiss Family Tree House next. That was fun (and tiring climbing all the way up there). We went to Pirates of the Caribbean ride again so Scott could video tape it. We got our own boat again and they announced us over the loud speaker just like on Monday.

After the ride we saw Captain Hook and Smee, then Jafar. We also went to the Hall of Presidents before meeting Heather & Paul. While we were waiting for the parade, all 4 of us were given fastpasses for Space Mountain and that was our first stop after the parade (we had great seats!). Then Paul, Scott and I went on Alien Encounter while Heather went shopping. We all then went on the Buzz Lightyear ride and I got more points than Scott!! We went to the Haunter Mansion next and then our last ride on Pirates. We saw Timone and Rakifi. Then we had to say goodbye to Heather and Paul :( we miss them so much!

Scott and I went back to the hotel around 6:30 to pack our bags. Then we brought most of our souvenirs to the gift shop to UPS them home ($16 for 5-10 day delivery and they came yesterday ? 11/25). We went to the cafeteria there to get our dinner and brought it back to the room to eat. We then spent the rest of the evening relaxing and getting ready to head to the Disney Magic the next day.

We saw 2 other bride & groom couples (not counting Heather & Paul). My cold was finally starting to get a bit better, but poor Scott was feeling worse? :(

Lisa,
Great recaps so far. We miss you both alot too. Paul and I have been talking about our new friends alot and sharing photos of all of us with all our friends here. :-) Buzz Lightyear, I really think that both times my lazer gun was broken :-)
