Hi Everyone! Merry Christmas!

I've been meaning to post this question for a while but kept forgetting.

I've been thinking about buying one of the Ott-Lite floor lamps and table lamps. I've been reading some mixed reviews and before I spend the money on them I wanted to check in here.

Does anyone have one of these lamps? What do you think of it? Are they worth the money? Which one would you recommend? :confused3

Any input would be greatly appreciated! :goodvibes

DH & I went out to buy an OTT-Lite when JoAnns had them 50% off one time. I didn't think there was any possibility I wouldn't get one. I loved the light aspect - the color difference was amazing I thought. But I really wasn't happy with the versatility of the movement of the arm on ANY of the lamps...or should I say LACK thereof. You see, I have other, old desk lamps here on my work table & I can pretty much position them where I want them anywhere over the work area.

DH noticed that the lightbulbs were on sale that day, too...and they had another brand of tru-color light bulbs. I think they were Tensor. Anyway, the Tensor bulbs have a standard base, so they fit into the desk lamps I was already using. So that's what I ended up doing and I'm very happy with them! Plus, I ended up with 2 good work lamps for about half of what I would have paid for 1 OTT-Lite. Works for me!! ;)

I have an Ott light ! It's one of the floor models. I LOVE it!!!
It gets moved around quite a bit - from my scrapbooking room to the jigsaw puzzle table - to my recliner where I do cross stitch....

Been using it over a year with the original bulb. The color difference for matching up papers is outstanding. I highly recommend the Ott light.

I think we picked it up at Home Depot or Lowe's. They were less expensive there than Jo-Ann's, etc.

I got one for Christmas. It's not a floor/stand up one - just a single pull arm one. I decided on this after using one on a scrap retreat - was great becasue it didn't project light everywhere. This is good since I share my scraproom with my hubby and it's easy to move up/downstairs.

I think I could have written that phrase...do you crochet too? :)

The Ott-Lites are nice although a little overpriced. Nothing a 40% or 50% off coupon won't fix! ;)

The "secret" of these lights is mostly the bulb but there are many daylight bulbs available now. Just check B&H Photo or any photo lighting supplier. One of the 23W bulbs in the ubiquitous $10 torchiere makes a good light source.
