If you have a car Gatorland is a great, old fashioned, slow paced “theme” park. Just know if you walk the nature trail, there are no railings, just a boardwalk. And you will see lots of critters both on the boardwalk, in the water, and in the bushes and trees. We were inches from a cotton mouth snake which was in a tree at the water’s edge. My legs went weak at the sight and I couldn’t get off the boardwalk fast enough. I will never do the nature trail again. But I loved the rest of the park and learning about the reptiles and animals.

So can you do the animal kingdom safari and fireworks cruise without the admission ticket to the park? Thanks for all the suggestions. We are alos planning an adults only trip probably after halloween when christmas decor is up so somewhere b/t Thanksgiving and Christmas.

No, you cannot do a Safari without Park admission.

If any 'add-on' is in a Park, you are going to have to pay admission to enter the Park.

The Disney website is quite clear.

Cruises have pick-ups on a Dock, not inside a Park, therefore, Cruises would not require Park admission.

This. Sorry - I was originally thinking of Senses of Africa which did not require one since it both started and ended outside the park. Savor the Savanna does require admission (and a reservation I believe).

As you mention, fireworks cruises do not require you to enter the park - the cruises usually hang out on Seven Seas Lagoon, so no admission is required.

The DiveQuest is still closed, but that was in Epcot, and didn't require a park ticket. They had two check-in locations, one outside the park. If you didn't have a park ticket, they escorted you in and out of the park.

As you're looking for ideas outside of going to a park, your question has been merged with a recent thread of information for guests looking to do things outside of the parks. Some may be impacted by the weather.

Personally, we poncho up and have a great time in the parks with lower crowds but that's not ideal for everyone.

Some great off parks activities here. Do you need to make reservations to kayak and bike ride? Does each resort have a list of activities on line that we could pull up and research?
