Have you stayed on other WDW properties? Where? Which did you like and which didn't you like (and why)?

Other than Ft. Wilderness, we were DVC members at Wilderness Lodge Villas and that was my least favorite of all Disney hotels due to the theming, believe it or not. It was just too dark and rustic.

Strangely, the resort I liked the best was Animal Kingdom Lodge, due to the theming. There was just something that made it beautiful to me.

But all in all, I prefer to be camping in my fifth wheel at the Fort.

We like BWV the best with a lake view top floor. Have stayed at all the resorts and they are all nice but BW is our first choice. OKW for the most room if that is what you need.

We had APs back in 2008 and sold our camper with ten months to go on the APs.

So that summer we stayed at All-Star Movies, the Contemporary, and Port Orleans French Quarter. They were all nice with the best quality in accordance with price. But after our last trip (POFQ), the whole family agreed we didn't care to come back until we got another camper.

Nothing compares to the Fort for us. :thumbsup2

I've gotta say, I wouldn't sneeze at a free stay at the Poly, but other than that, my Disney home is and always will be the Fort.

So sad that I'm a month out from our next WDW trip and all I can think of is, "I wish we could be at Ft. Wilderness."

If your looking for something total different .......Old Key West is the hidden gem of WDW, totally head and shoulders above any of the other resorts........The landscaping is beautiful, well themed, bright, roomy, just a bit of a slower pace and much less crowded then any of the other resorts.

We've stayed at all of the All Stars, CR, WL, AKL, CBR, DL (Dixie Landings), FW cabins and of course FW.

Our favorite hotel resort would be a tie between AKL and WL. Our least favorite was CR.

Overall camping at FW is our all time favorite.

This for Camping, hands down!

Haven't stayed at the Fort yet(we leave Friday for a Sunday Fort arrival) but we love our DVC at Bay Lake Tower. I love being on the monorail and being so close to MK (we have young kids). I also love the rooms though. We have stayed at All-Star Music, OKW, AKV, BWV, and obviously BLT.

We haven't stayed at FW yet either (less than 48hrs til we head out:banana:). As DVC owners and AP holders for many years, the only places we haven't stayed at are Poly, GF, CR tower, and AOA.

Would have to say my favorite is BWV. Love the proximity to EPCOT, my favorite park.

We've stayed at Bay Lake Tower and the Poly. BLT was brand new when we were there. We loved being able to walk to MK, watch the fireworks from our balcony, and see Space Mountain when we woke up in the morning. We loved the Contempo Cafe and being right there for Chef Mickey's. Otherwise though, it just felt like a hotel...the theming of the Contemporary and BLT aren't my thing.

The Poly was magical. Even though it's older, it feels like another world, especially at night when the torches are lit. Our room faced the lagoon, so we could sit on our patio and watch Wishes (I played the soundtrack on my iPod to go with.) We enjoyed Captain Cook's and the art gallery there. There's definitely something special about the Poly.

However, hands down, the Fort is home. It's where we'll choose to stay whenever possible, so we can have our dogs with us and our own digs. I never truly relax at other resorts, and we just go, go, go all of the time because of that. At the Fort, I actually relax and always plan to spend one afternoon at our site, sitting on a reclining lounge chair, looking up at the gorgeous blue sky between the palm trees. It gets scheduled in, just like park days:)

We were DVC owners for 8 years, two trips a year...loved it, especially Beach Club Villas..........then we visited the Fort one time..........sold the DVC, bought a MH.....we were just there in March and heading back in December......nothing like Disney at Christmas and I hear nothing like the Fort at Christmas........really looking forward to that one. Speaking of Christmas, anyone know when they open up the dinner ressies for the Candlelight Processional ???

Yes, we sold our Wilderness Villas DVC for a brand-new, top of the line pop-up. It never made it to Disney. We camped at local state parks literally every other weekend for three months. We loved it so much, we traded it in for a fifth wheel.

Now, nine years later I'd like a toy hauler fifth wheel so I can get my own golf cart (which would pretty much only get used at Disney)

If I could BUY a site at the Fort, I would!

Yep, that's what I read but every time I go to "event" ressie section, there are no (not any) days or times available, I called and was told it should be "soon". Thanks for the response, if you hear anything let me know.

Last years release was June 26, so within the week. pixiedust:

I've stayed at Wilderness Lodge, Contemporary, Swan, and The Dolphin. All of the hotels are nice but they are still just hotels.... The Fort offers so much more and that's what makes me keep coming back.

Wilderness Lodge is my favorite (so far) - our kids like All Star Movies. Least favorite was Port Orleans French Quarter.
