Hi there- trying to figure out what/where to keep room key/key to world, fastpasses, etc if we don't want to wear lanyards with the clear cases attached?? Any thoughts? My parents will be with us too, and I can pretty much assume they won't want to wear those!

I keep them in my pocket :confused3

Sometimes I even use this little business card wallet I have. Never had a problem losing things, it is not like I need to have my key out very often, really just to get more fast passes or pay for a meal.

Purse, wallet, backpack, waistpack. Just about any way you would carry cards with you in normal life.

We carried all of our cards in our pockets. I do not understand why adults would wear things like that around their necks unless it was a name tag at work.

And I would like to add any of the above - bags/wallets etc without a magnetic closure, I have had more things demagnatized that I care to count with magnetic closures on my bags or wallets, not a tragedy since all guest services have replaced my tickets without any hassle but its a pain to have to go guest services and wait to have new tickets/KTTW cards etc issued when you would rather be enjoying the park.

My DH has a small thin wallet (almost like a business card holder) that he carries in his front packet. Once we are in the park my DS(13) and I give our cards to him. He puts them in the wallet with his. This works out well because he is in charge of the fast passes too. That way they won't get lost. It works well for us. :)

I usually keep my photopass+ around my neck because I like to be able to get to it quickly for pictures.

The Keys to the World are kept in my pocket.

Check Wal Mart or Academy. They have a very small waist pack that runners use. The one at Academy is neoprene and expands. It is small enough not to weigh you down and not noticeable under your shirt. Cash, tickets, credit card, keys, that is about it. Maybe a very small camera.

Thanks... I know this seemed like a lame or obvious question, but I've just read so much about the lanyards (with or without pin trading), that I was starting to get concerned about those of us that don't want to walk around with one of those around our necks! I figure I'll have a cross-body small purse of some sort, we'll have a backpack to share custody of, and DH typcially uses a money clip in his front pocket. Plus the grandparents will have their personal items. I do like the idea of having the photopass card easily accessible, so will have to think of a good option for that. And thanks for the reminder about the magnets, will keep that in mind when choosing a purse!
:cheer2:

Are you getting a regular photopass or photopass +? The reason I am asking is that the + version comes on a grey lanyard with a hook on the end, I simply looped it around a strap on whatever bag (hipster, minihipster or back pack) I was using that day then tucked the card in one of the pocket or zippered areas, simple to grab when I needed it, usually my friend would pull it out for us allowing me to keep the backpack on my back, let the photopass photographer scan it and then put it right back where it was stored. And the hint that many Dis'ers give of taking a picture of it with your digital camera or cellphone is a smart thought, I have never lost one but I love the idea that if I have the number on my camera I can have all my pictures retrieved at a photopass site.

I keep mine in my crossbody purse.
Same with my photopass card...just slide it all in an easily accessible zippered pocket in yout bag and u are golden.

I use my hipster. Easy for everything. I just keep it within easy reach (like a side pocket) so I don't have to dig for it.

If you will have a purse, why would you even consider a lanyard?

I had both. When we were at Universal we had the FOTL passes as we stayed on site. You have to show your room card at every attraction so it was much easier having it on a lanyard than digging into a bag constantly. Still took my baggallini bag for my other ID and cash and a few other things.

Now when I was just at Disney and only needing the card to get FPs and to enter the park I left it in my cross body bag.

I use either my Vera Bradley hipster and keep my things in my small coin purse. Or I put it in my Coach wristlet and carry that around in my backpack with me hidden under all the stuff we bring into the parks. Never had an issue with anything getting lost or stolen that way. Normally when you open the backpack especially after my daughter has gone through it, you can't find anything at all.

I always carry some kind of cross body bag. For tickets, Fastpasses, ATM and credit cards, I have a little wallet that has a metal ring attached (like on a keychain). I attach it inside of my bag and can pull it out or reach in to get whatever cards I need. I always make sure the bags I buy have some kind of loop inside to attach it. I like that it's attached inside so I don't have worry about it falling out when I reach in for other stuff. My DH carries his own credit cards and money, but I carry everyone's tickets and Fastpasses. It's easier to have them all in the same place when we need them.

That's a good addition. Which means those of us with adorable Sherpani bags need to be careful. That magnet in the front flap is STRONG, and I believe it was the culprit in a year of really annoying disneyland visits where my AP kept getting halfway messed up. (at disneyland they do NOT like to replace APs and will urge you to just keep on using it rather than easily replacing it)

I didn't even think of the magnet in it for a couple years and it was an "aha' moment.

I use a bag and a lanyard because a lanyard won't carry my sunscreen or water. :) And I like the lanyard for ease, especially at Universal for the Express Pass. But I use a thin clear hard plastic waterproof Witz case at the end of my lanyard (usually Ravenclaw lanyard even at Disney), which is way easier to get into than the zippered pouches sold at Disney (and probably Universal but I've never looked for them there).

Us too.

Slight tangent, but still on topic: What can go on rides with you? I've heard of people taking some things (purse, backpack?) but I also remember my SIL checking a backpack at lockers for rides when we went years ago. I've never needed more than a pocket on previous trips, but with kids this time we will. I never knew any kind of bag could go on rides, but I vaguely remember other posters mentioning taking something with them...
