Other Halloween things to do instead of MNSSHP?

We are trying to decide whether to spend Halloween in Disney or arrive a few days later. Are there any special events that go on aside from the MNSSHP on Halloween....either at other parks or Art of Animation resort? Thank you!

Some resorts have activities on Halloween. We were at Bay Lake Tower on Halloween 2013 and watched them setting up something for the kids outside. There are also cast member pumpkin carving contests at some resorts -- at least Deluxe ones. Guests vote on their favorite.
