Other FL parks - what do you think?

Am I the only one that doesn't want to leave WDW property? I like Seaworld, but have really been disappointed in the other parks. I find Universal a little too "wild," the Halloween party at IOA was wayyyy overcrowded and very disappointing (shut off the stupid chain saws already), and Busch Gardens was a complete disaster (half the park was closed for refurb last March) I thought that Discovery Cove was way overpriced and although it was good, not great. I will admit that I like IOA, but wouldn't wait an hour and a half for any ride...

We have pretty much decided not to leave Disney for our next trips. Anyone else feel this way?

Count us in...last time at Universal (before IOA), there was litter everywhere, posted wait times were about half actual, and line jumping was rampant---never again...Went to Seaworld with my five year old grandson and there were about two things that held his interest---feeding a $3 sardine to the dolphins and the porpoise show. After that show, the whale was just another big fish doing tricks, so it was repetitive; and he was too short for the rides. From his perspective, the place was a waste of time. Mine too, and we had passes.:smooth:

I still think IOA is the best park in town. New and refreshing look...doesn't look dated like Magic Kingdom, or as commercial as AK. Water rides are always a plus.

We love to go to US/IOA we never had any problems there. We dont go to Sea World because we have one here in Texas that we go to. We normally spend 7 days at Disney and 2 days at US/IOA. US also has wonderful resorts--RPR was great when were stayed there. Every bit as nice at the deluxe resorts at Disney--and a smidge cheaper.

There are themeparks in Florida other than Disney?

LOL, I didn't realize that either elemusing!

much like how i listen to just about every type of music, but come back to my "home base" of country.....

i visit other attractions in florida, but return to my standard of WDW. The others are a nice change of pace, but eventually get on my nerves or disapoint me and i return "home".

Don't get me wrong IOA, Sea World and others have some things to offer but I find myself more recently not wanting to leave Disney property either!

I think one of the biggest things that bothers me about the other parks is the fact that the staff are not trained as effectively as disney's "cast members"...or at least it seems that way to me.

Anyone else ever get that feeling?

I went to US once in 1994 and have not been back. I really liked it and it was clean but it was no WDW. Back to The Future blew Star Tours and BW away though! DH does not like roller coasters so we have not done IOA. I would like to see Spiderman at IOA but thats about it. I think the Lost Continent looks good but the rest of the pictuires/videos I have seen look really cheap (Toon Lagoon, etc..) We have snorkeled some really nice places so I don't really have much interest in DC. It looks like a copy of Xcaret in Mexico. Bush Gardens was ok. I really hate the look of steal coasters out in the open. Disney does such a good job of hiding/theaming them (except for California Screaming.) Try to carry on a conversation near an outdoor steal coaster-they are SO LOUD!

We visit all the parks. The next trip is 2 nights US/IOA and 7 nights Disney. Dh likes the Universal parks more than Disney. I've never had problems with CM's or seen litter at Universal. You can't beat FOTL for staying on site either!

I'm going to take a day for that big space-themed park on Cape Canaveral.;)

Maybe that's the thought behind "Mission: Space" -- to keep those people onsite.

I love Islands of Adventure, maybe as much as I like MGM. Unviersal Studios, however, I find lame and boring. Sure, it's a good park, but it's just not exciting. I need some excitement.

Hmm ... AIRPORT, PORT CANVERAL (DCL TERMINAL) and WDW .. why would we need anything else...

I can barely handle leaving MK for MGM, AK, or Epcot...let alone go to other parks...

We didn't even bother including any others in this trip (DH is dying to do IOA, and I wouldn't mind it in a non-pregnant state; I'd also like to visit Sea World, but not this trip either).

We hardly ever leave Disney property to go to other Theme Parks, but did once...went to Sea World and honestly, I think the park is great, but once is enough for me...I probably wouldn't go back for awhile...

I won't be able to do this much longer though, as my son loves Spiderman and he knows that Universal has him, so I am sure that he will be wanting to go there soon!! :p
