A couple of weeks ago, Pete mentioned that in the future among the ways the podcast would change is that other Disney podcasters would be invited on the show from time to time.

Last week, one of the email questions was whether any of the crew listened to other Disney podcasts and the answer was, basically, no.

I know the two statements above are not contradictory, but it did make me think to myself: will other Disney podcasters be invited on Dis Unplugged or did I hear things wrong? If the answer is yes, I nominate anyone off WDW T-day, and Lou Mongello.

BTW, Lou took time on one of his podcasts to send his condolences about Bob's passing (I thought that was classy, just as classy as Pete last year congratulating Lou's show for winning a podcast award). Also, Matt Hochberg has favorably mentioned the Dis on podcasts and the Unofficial Guide does highlight the site and these message boards (i.e. Len Testa should be invited).

Just my thoughts.

I heard Lou mention Bob, it was really classy. I like Lou's show but I kill myself at the little jingle he uses to open the show, it is so obviously him singing (and a bit on the amateur side I must admit LOL *no disrespect lou!)

It would be really cool to have guests on the show. With Petes high tech gadgetry and plans for the future, it just seems to be a natural progression.

The "other" podcast IS good. Its on par with y'all..'cept for "OUT standing.." good lawd..how many more times..
But no, the podcasts can really help eachother..

I'll second bringing Lou on. And DEFINITELY Len. He's great and I think he would fit in with the Podcast crew well, he's got the same sense of humor.

I only listen to the DIS, so I'm just curious...do other podcasters have other podcasters on their shows now at guests?

Yes, most of the others do.

Also, Brian Ripper from All About the Mouse mentioned Bob's passing. I thought it would make Bob so happy to be honored on other podcasts.

I was so excited when Pete said he'd have other podcasters on the DIS podcast because I think the DIS crew would do amazing interviews! They seem like they would ask some interesting questions rather than boring, predictable ones.

Hate to be disagreeable, but the jingle on Lou's show is by David and Kathy Recchione who, according to their website, have over 35 years experience in the music field and may be somewhat offended that the jingle they created is being called "amateur".

I believe I'm with most everyone else - Lou would be a great guest and Len Testa as well. This was Pete's idea, after all.

Forgive me, but what do interviewers interview other interviewers about?

I think that might come across sounding a little snotty, but really, it's not meant that way, I was just thinking they would come on more as a special guest roundtabler to join in the discussion, rather than an interview format...KWIM?

When Lou interviewed Len Testa, he asked him questions about how he got involved with the Unofficial Guide. It was actually a really interesting interview.

It didn't come off snotty..unless maybe I am dense! They could be interviewed about favorites at Disney, strangest experience at Disney, why they are obsessed with Disney, etc. Or, like you said, maybe the intention was just to have them sit in and answer emails or something. Even if so, I'm sure it would still seem like an interview to some extent.

Some of them have other Disney related jobs/hobbies. Len Testa is the co-author of the Unofficial Guide and Lou Mongello is the author of the WDW Trivia Books. Most podcasters are probably just big Disney fans, but some of them were "in the business" before podcasting.

That's why Lou or Len (especially Len - big Len fan, can you tell?) would make great guests.

In a recent show (maybe the one prior to the current one that is out now??) Lou answered a listener email asking if he sang the jingle. He does NOT sing the jingle, and I don't think that it sounds like him at all. I agree it's pretty corny and not that great, but it's not him singing!

I think having othe Disney podcasters on the show is a great idea! I'm not a big fan of Lou's show but I do like WDW today and All About the Mouse. I would really enjoy listening to any of those hosts come as guests on DIS Unplugged. BTW, clombardi, I also would like to see Len Testa as a guest and maybe Brian Ripper and Jonathan Dichter would be good also. If they decide to invite Matt Hotchner they should forbid him to day OUT-standing. So annoying!! Anyway just thought this was a fantastic idea!

I think the crossover interview would be a great idea. I love dis and wdw today equally - both have a very different approach. Kevin's "I apologize" and Matt's "OUTstanding" are funny! It's a signature, not an annoyance... :woohoo:

Well excuse me, that is interesting, it sounds EXACTLY like LOU LOL! I pictured him recording it and working on it in my head! Well, music is subjective and I would hope that the opinion of a guy on a disney forum didnt cause them a loss of sleep! LOL All in all though, I stand by my opinion that the jingle is cringe inducing at best! Right up there with Co-stanza!

I can't believe I am the only one who hears Lous voice in that jingle....wow! It matches perfectly in my head.

That sounds fabulous! I'm behind on Lou's show. His shows are so hard to catch up with.

I think they should have Matt Hochberg from WDW today. We all know he lives in Orland now so it would be convenient. I think it would be interesting because they have some differing opinions from the Dis. (like about LeCellier).

Let's face it. We're all part of the same family. There should be no animosity towards any other Podcasters who share the same love for the mouse as we do. I think insight from any Disney fan is informative and entertaining.

Of course, Lou wasn't the only one to mention Bob's passing. Brian from All about the Mouse, and Ricki Brigante from Inside the Magic did as well. (Though in the latter, it was a listener who alerted him to the fact, as he hadn't heard on his own). Not sure if I'm forgetting any of them.

Regarding the jingle from Lou's show, what he includes in his intro is actually part of a much longer version that was originally submitted (and he recently included the whole thing on his show a few weeks ago). Hearing the entire thing gives more appreciation for it.

Who said anything about animosity towards other Podcasters? :confused3

I listen to the DIS Unplugged podcast because I want to hear the DIS Unplugged podcast...if I wanted to hear other podcasters -- I'd be listening to *their* podcasts. Maybe that's a little too one-sided on my part, but that's the way I feel. ::yes::

Also, I guess I need to listen to the podcast that OP was talking about again as I took it to mean there might be "guests" included in upcoming podcasts, but not people from other Disney podcasts. I thought it would be people from the travel industry in general. :confused3
